R56 R56 Week 24 Production
I haven't quite come to that conclusion.... yet. Voice does seem a little painful, and slow.... I have successfully used it to peruse my address book in my E815 phone. It can actually dial by the name in the book from the phone itself. It sure seems to butcher the names when it repeats them though!
I tried NAV address entry by voice... slow, painful... but it mostly works. I like getting the NAV map screen back by saying "perspective", so it will switch over from the radio or phone screen back to map....
Oh, also when at a menu, one can ask "options", and it will tell you what commands it will accept via voice.
Mainly, I need to read the voice commands that it accepts, and try some more...

Funny you say that max. Up till tonight, I had only played with the phone part of the voice commands. Tonight on way home from work I started testing chanign the screens and menu's and switcing from CD to radio.... and back to phoen and dialing a #. Acutally, it's fairly usefull, but like you said, you have to learn the commands I guess. I just kept saying "Options" to see what was there then would say them all. That helped alot.
Interesting. The problem though, is they didn't give us a Car based phone book. That was dumb!!

On another note, I successfully used the voice commands to input an address on my way to my destination. Not so painful, The mini started with California and let me chose if I wanted to enter City, Zip Code, Street or house number next. I have to remember to wait for the voice prompt. It worked OK! Even though I knew exactly where I was going, I like to put in the destination...just in case I need to detour due to traffic or whatnot. Interesting, as soon as I entered my destination (Oakland Coliseum, yes- I know the address
), the Navigator told me my traffic was coming to a standstill. Now, I knew this as I was coming off the San Mateo bridge at rush hour.... and know the route quite well, anyways, I took the next exit and the Nav re-routed flawlessly. Good to see the Traffic Alerts worked! One thing is curious, I'm trying to figure out what language the NAV is using, it sure does butcher the names! (streets, cities, etc)
Week 24'ers : Finally Photos of Max!
hi all... i have yet to post pics of chubs... just got back fr vacation.
so i gotta story... when i got back this past thursday night, i put a cute sticker on chub's rear window. saturday night i go to my friend's house and i wanted to show her my sticker, but then it was gone!!!
who would want to steal a used sticker???
i guess someone is way too cheap to buy their own sticker and had to take mine... that's just rude. i'm just more upset that someone put their nasty, corrupted hands on chubs!
but i'm thankful chubs wasn't hurt in the process...
