Open barn doors from remote?

Saw a video online that showed the owner opening the barn doors by pressing the "trunk" button on the remote. When I press and hold mine, the alarm sounds.

What gives?

My keyfob does the same thing. Curious if anyone else has a remedy.

Is this a regional thing maybe?

Mine opens the right barn door, didn't know it did it until a clubby friend pointed out his setup after he removed handles, wipers etc.

I think the car has to be unlocked before the ‘trunk’ button will pop the door. If the car is locked and you press the ‘trunk’ button for more than 2 seconds the panic alarm will sound.

I have never had my car go into panic mode. I’ll give it a try this afternoon.

Mine doesn’t need to be unlocked to pop
the back with the trunk button on the remote.

My R55 has no alarm. The barn doors always open when I press the trunk open button, locked or not.

Same. I believe those with the alarm system may be different due to the "panic" programmed into it.

You guys are right, my “trunk” button works whether locked or unlocked. I also do not have the alarm option, so no panic sounds either.

My passengers side barn door opens whether locked or unlocked. No alarm.

Can you open both doors with the remote? I've seen it on later models. Can't get mine to do it?

Mine only works for the right bard door. The left does not open. I think that is by design. The newer clubmans you can open the left.
