Electrical Trunk lid switch
Trunk lid switch
I have an 07 r56 with an intermittent problem that the trunk button (on the door) won't work. It works when I use my key fab but it's annoying when my cars running and I have to open the trunk. I haven't had time to open it up and check it out and it's been in the single digits so I don't see it happening soon. Is this a common problem that would be easy to fix
Are you sure that's not how it's suppose to work? With mine if I unlock only the driver side with the fob the trunk button won't work (the trunk is locked), if I unlock all doors with the fob then the button works (the trunk is unlocked), if I unlock all doors with the dash toggle then the door button works (the trunk is unlocked). If I open the trunk with the fob button but only the driver side door is unlocked then the trunk button won't work after I close it (the trunk is locked).
Basically the trunk button acts just like the passenger side door.
I get annoyed by how it works. I should change the setting on the fob to unlock all doors with one push and it would solve this.
Is this what you experiencing? Or is it really broken?

You can program how the fob unlocks the doors. The default setting is where one push of the fob button only unlocks the driver's door. A second push of the button will unlock the passenger door and the hatch.
Read your manual and it will tell you how to change it so that the first push of the fob button unlocks everything.

The buttons on the rear hatch handle do have a high failure rate. Find the connector, and try jumping contacts. If that operates the latch, then you likely have a bad switch.
