Yes, I am 3 months old to the Motoring world. Here is my question. WTF is this "Motoring ID" I keep seeing in peoples signatures? Please be gentle...

 

MINIUSA had a thing in the Owner's Lounge where people could pick a Motoring ID from some preselected lists of words and numbers. The idea was you'd reserve a number tied to your MINIUSA owner's lounge ID. Then put the ID on your MINI. When someone saw a MINI with a motoring ID on it, they could go to the owner's lounge, look up the ID, and contact the owner via the owner's lounge.

Interesting idea in theory, but I'm not sure how many people actually went to the effort of printing up their motoring ID onto stickers.

We bought vinyl this weekend and made our own ID stickers Staples sells all sizes and colors...

I think it's a good concept they have but when I went to select one you had to choose from the list. Is it still that way? I wish you could create your own motoring ID on MINI USA.

 

I think the NAM screen names make better IDs than the MINIUSA motoring thing. I would rather have decals of the screen names on the back windows so we could recognize each other. No one is going to be able to remember other peoples MINIUSA Motoring ID. The weird options you have to choose from makes them look alike.

 

I agree. NAM names are more unique, and I'd be more likely to actually recognize someone by that than their motoring ID.

BTW, if anyone cares, just go to http://www.quickstickers.com/ and make your own sticker ... don't need nothing for MINI which is just doing some marketing
