Just got off the phone with my MA. She left me a voice mail last Friday saying delivery in about 2 1/2 weeks, but now she said she has a new report and it looks like 5/14 (which is what the OL says) is a good estimate for delivery to the dealer, so I should be able to take delivery on 5/15! She said she'd call me when my car was loaded on the truck. I also confirmed with her the final price. No dealer add-ons - just a $65 paperwork charge. Wanted to make sure they didn't squeeze in any dealer-prep items.
Gotta watch the W2 tommorrow to see when my baby gets unloaded.

Does anyone know what it means when you are showing up as being discharged on the W2 site? My MINI shows a discharge date of 5/1/03. Does that mena that it passed through the VPC on 5/1, or does that mean that the car was unloaded on 5/1? Since the online site already showed me being at the VPC, I wasn't sure if that meant that I had already passed through the VPC and was on a truck, or if that just was their record of my car being unloaded off of the ISOLDE.??.

I think "Discharged" on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site simply means you got driven off the ISOLDE into the VPC. My WW cargo status report shows my MINI was "discharged" at 5:10pm May 1 -- the same day the ISOLDE docked at Port Hueneme. No way the car makes it out of the VPC and up the highway in just hours. (Nor would you want it to... isn't the VPC the manufacturer's final quality control/inspection point?)

W2 is still showing mine as loaded on vessel but the OL is showing distribution center. No word from my MA as he apparently forgot how to use a phone and is unable to return my calls from last week inquiring about pre-delivery details.

OBXmini we don't care if it's raining. We want pictures.

I'm the other way around -- the WW site has me "discharged," but the OL still says I'm "en route." Whatever.

g3 - Called my dealer today. That's great that yours calls YOU (I've never ONCE received a phone call from mine.) The dealer was behind the WW site info - still had me on the ship in NY, but I don't know how that can be when the ship isn't even there anymore! I told him the discrepancy in dates of delivery from what they told me to what the MINIUSA site is showing. He said the date they gave me was the latest it would be in and thought it would be about 1 1/2 weeks for it to arrive at the dealer. Since I've had the countdown going since ordering (in ink on my calendar I might add), I'm sticking with the dealer's delivery date - don't want to be disappointed if 1 1/2 weeks goes by and I don't hear from them! With that said, 23 more days and I'll be tearing up the road!!!!! (who am I trying to kid, I'm REALLY hoping/planning on the week before!

By the way, my drive isn't THAT far from Jersey (Milwaukee). I'm keeping the light on for my new-comer! It's winding down for us now!! NUMMYTIME

Chrisscat77 - OK, I've waited long enough thinking it would come up somewhere. I just have to ask what "15" stands for or signifies. I think of it everytime I see your signature, but never saw if you ever divulged the meaning behind it. Have fun, enjoy, and be safe out there!!!!

Conecarver,
What day did the Carmen arrive in Charleston? Just trying to get an idea of turnaround time at the VDC.

I decided to buy a mini for my birthday (which is april 15), and it happened to be feb. 15 when i ordered her... also 15 was gender neutral considering the possible voice differences on the Nav (it's a girl)

also- 15 was finished production on the 15th...

it's my lucky number, in any case...

I can't talk for long, but MAX is home! He handles like a dream, and I am so impressed with the transmission. Definitely a quality vehicle.

Happy MOTORING!

My wifes MCS is/was on the Isolde. The MA called her and let her know it should be ready for us mid-May. Mr. Murphy I'm sure, is going to play into this...you see, I have a track day (for my motorcycle) on Saturday, May 10 and it would be so perfectly WRONG for the car to interfere with my trackday! Last year, my wedding got in the way of a track day. Don't get me wrong, the MCS is a sweet car, but nothing is better than a day at the track with a fast sportbike!

PLEASE let the car wail until next week....

Drove by the dealer on the way to work today and saw two big trucks across the street with MINIs all around them. Turned into the parking lot and sure enough, saw mine sitting there waiting to be moved over to the service area. Did all of the paperwork this evening and will be picking up at 10 am. Only problem - I just got orders from the family that nobody from work can ride in, sit in, or even look at the MINI for very long before I get it home tomorrow evening. Perhaps if I take the lonnnnnng way from the dealer to home, and skip that pesky work part, I can keep my word. Yeh, thats the ticket!

YAHOOOOO!!! Picked up Hagrid last night from Tate Mini in Annapolis MD. By this morning I have 112 miles on it! What a fun ride. I live in Southern Maryland and there are lots of curves through the woods. I found alot of them last night! Xenon headlights sure helped.

So far, this is an awesome car. Still getting used to moving from a 19ft long 4x4 truck to the Mini, but really enjoyed parking in a parking garage this a.m.

Hope to see more of you on the road soon. I'm a VR/B Cooper with bonnet stripes, all packages, 16" runflats, most options other than rain sensor. Pics to follow soon.

PK1 - Yes, today may be long, but tomorrow is going to whiz by (once you get behind the wheel, that is!) Then you'll have another long wait for the weekend to come. Congrats - I'm feelin' your joy. Be safe on the drive home. Mine's coming in about 2 weeks!!! My drive from the dealer is only about a 10 minute one, but I'm sure I can come up with an hour long "scenic" route! HAVE FUN!!!!
