I had the most amazing experience today!

I was driving down past my dealership when I met this cute little green and white Mini approaching from the other direction. "WHOA! that's GOT to be our Mini!"

So I spun around and went to where they park all the Coopers. Nothing. So I went in and talked to the folks in the dealership. "I just saw our Mini!" "No, your car won't be here until next week".

I went back out to the lot again, and sure enough, this time the green and white Mini is there. Hmmm, options match.....Vin number matches....It's our Mini!!!

I went back inside and I'm sure they thought I was a nut case. "That's our car!!"
"Gimme gimme gimme gimme!!"
Well, I have to wait a few days for the bonnet protection, cleanup, etc. But I had a spiritual moment out there bonding with the new addition to our family. I'm bringing Bobbi down to the dealership so she can meet MiniMum when she finishes work.

Excited?? naw...... Not!!

This is soooo cool!

Checked the MINI site and my MINI now shows an estimated date of delivery as well! My eyes almost bugged out of my head when I saw 5/12, a whole 2 weeks earlier than what my dealer had originally quoted me. After finishing dancing my jig, the reality set in. I believe you're right, Stinger, that things aren't going to happen THAT soon for us. Either way, each day that goes by is one day we're closer to our MINIs!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for the first sunny, warm day out motorin' about - I'm going to pop in Revolver and play "Good Day Sunshine". Hope there's a hanky available, I might be overcome by it all!!

Nummytime, I'm with ya. When I saw delivery next Tuesday my first thought was maybe it actually came over on one of the earlier ships, but given the reliability of the MINIUSA site, I've got to believe the WWW site and my MA. Still, I'm getting pumped and spending more time thinking about accessories and upgrades. Just today there was a great thread on this site about replacing the radio antenna with one from the Honda S2000 that I jumped on.

Drago's in his lair! I just took delivery this afternoon. Lots of gawkers on the drive home. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

It looks like ISOLDE has departed Port Huneme, CA!!! Our MINI's are in the U.S.!!The WW web site still has not updated my as unloaded or discharged yet. I'll keep checking though. Let's hope the VDC is all caught up and can get our MINI's to the owners soon. Here's to picking up my MINI on May 17th...... maybe I should knock on wood or something....so far everything is working like a clock...

We went down to the dealership last night so that Bobbi could meet MiniMum. We took pictures and studied the car over and just sort of did a vigil with her. It was hard to leave!!

Saw lots of Minis out last night in Minneapolis, including another BRG/W like ours.
And when I say 'lots', I mean I saw 4. I saw 450 PT Cruisers in the same time frame

This is going to be the toughest wait of the whole process....knowing our car is here and sitting in a parking lot of a shopping center where anybody can mess with it. I just want our Mini!!

Wow, that is fantastic!! Hopefully mine won't be too far behind. It has to make its way up to Portland, so it will probably the end of the week AT BEST, but if we get it before the middle of the month, it will be much better than originally anticipated!

My car was delivered to the dealership on Friday.I didn't get a call ,I just stopped in to the dealership on Saturday to say hello and found the car "just sitting there".She was easy to spot. The lone red roof car surrounded by lots of white roofed cars.I took some pictures with the transport tape and stickers still attached.Other than a slight scuff mark to the right rear corner, the car seems to survived the trip across the pond quite well.

Hopefully the pictures I took won't be the only record I end up having of the car.The dealer is giving me next to nothing for my car,and with the payoff,I have to sell rather than trade.I've got till the end of the month to move my car out.If not,the Mini goes to the next buyer.

Good luck Oilman. So close, yet so far!! It has to be so frustrating trying to get details lined up that you have limited control over. At least the dealer is giving you a month to make it work. I have read stories about a few people getting much less time to close the deal. Will they put you back on the waiting list so that you can reorder sooner if it falls through?

Just checked the OL. I have an estimated delivery date of 5/14. I sold my car yesterday, and arranged for my financing the day before. 10 days! I can hardly stand it.

OK, I see the Tosca has docked and then sailed from NY, but my status is still "LOADED ON VESSEL" - hope they didn't forget to unload me and bring me to Charlotte! I'm sure it just needs to be updated - positive thinking here. Hey, g3, I wouldn't get TOO excited for that delivery date to be correct. Mine says 5/12, but my dealer quoted me 5/28 when I placed my order. I've heard many others saying they've spent a good 2 weeks at the distribution center before even being shipped to their dealer. Not to rain on your parade and I am MORE excited when I see Estimated Date of Delivery reading 5/12 for me (when I was thinking 5/28), but I'd rather be ecstatic if it comes in earlier than 5/28 than pi$$ed off if it's not in on 5/12!! Glad to be able to share this excitement with all of you "CWFMer's", as nobody else REALLY understands!! NUMMYTIME

The MINI site still lists me as at the distribution center, took delivery on Fri!

As I've had the opportunity to get to know Drago, I've had a strange yet comforting feeling. It's as if I've met an old friend that I haven't seen in a while. Familiar and affable with new tales of daring do from his adventures. New tricks to show me, new quests to explore together. Welcome home old friend.

Well it started out to be a bad week, my wife's I30t was baked into by a 18 year old girl in a Mitsu Montero. Damn SUV's, the bumpers are higher than car bumpers and cause more damage then they should.

But the week had a good ending, got the call that my EB/B MCS was in on Friday.

Very difficult to keep it under 4500 rpm, can't wait for the odometer to roll over to 1250 miles.

Nummytime,
I hear ya. My MA left me a message at work on Friday and said that it looks like about 2 1/2 weeks. That makes it 5/21. I don't want to call her back. You're unloading in NYC, but they gave you a 5/28 date? You must have a long truck ride ahead.
I've been trying to burn up all this nervous energy. Ordered the glove box and center console organizers from R Speed. Washed and waxed my wife's car. Trying to hold on.

Who hoo!! I just checked at the Owner's Lounge, and it says that my MINI is currently at the VDC with an estimated delivery date of 5/7/2003!!! OMG! Unfortunately my MA won't be back from some training until the 9th, but I can't believe that it is coming so soon! Especially since the ISOLDE just got here on the 1st!

I just checked the WWW site and it says mine was "Discharged" in New York. On U.S. soil!! Of course the OL says delivery is tomorrow. I don't think so, but still I'm thrilled. I'm guessing about 2 weeks. Now, if someone would just buy my Porsche I'd be all set.
