>>Help! When you look at the WW site and it shows your info, is there always a little asterisk with "cargo is on waitlist status" at the bottom of the page?
>>
>>I thought this meant my car was waitlisted, but since there is no asterisk next to my ID# perhaps the car is on the ship. Have I been misreading the page?
Bird,
I'm in the same situation as you. Received at terminal 14/04/2003 20:59. I also have the *cargo is in waitlist status message. I don't know what it means.

Mine says:
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 12/04/2003 07:25
BOOKED SOUTHAMPTON 12/04/2003 07:21
But it doesn't say that its been loaded on the vessel. So did it make it aboard the ship in time?? When I click on the voyage link, it says that it was leaving today:
SOUTHAMPTON UNITED KINGDOM 14/04/2003 14/04/2003 (Vessel has sailed)
NEW YORK, NY U.S.A. 22/04/2003 22/04/2003
The only other info I have is:
Cargo Id: TD68319
Booking Number: GBSOU121413 Bill Number:
Vessel: CARMEN Port of Origin: SOUTHAMPTON
Voyage: EQ310-CAR Port of Destination: NEW YORK, NY
Priority: Customer Ref. Number:
Whats the deal??? Wheres my Mini - on this boat or the next one??
Thanks,
Erik

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why me?????
I think that you are right. Anyway, I just emailed their customer service and asked if they could confirm what reason and why vehicles are waitlisted. I told them that I would pass on the message to all my fellow mini owners, so as to avoid confusion in the future. I'll keep you posted when I hear back from them.

I'm new to all of this and my MCS is just in the production stage, but what is this WW site you are referring to which "shows your info"? Thanks for bringing me up to snuff with this stuff!
There seems to be a big party on the Carmen. I updated everyone and if I missed something would you let me know. This is the first time I remember being two pages in one day from this thread.
Your added PK1. And Epilot, I added something just for you since you had to wait so long to find out about your ship.
I also added a link to the tracking site. It's in red on the left hand side of the page.

Ok, so my car is wait listed. Now I am normally not pessimistic, but....
I was talking to someone I know around here. There used to be a Norwood, OH GM Camaro/Firebird plant around here until the late 80s. This person used to be a line-quality manager. I know there differences in technology, companies, etc.... but I still wonder if there is any truth to his logic.
He said that before the end of production, they would register all of the cars for shipment a couple weeks in advance. However, some cars were effectively waitlisted - these are the cars that needed "extra attention off line". When going through the final QA check, something would fail. Sometimes the car wouldn't start, sometimes an electrical problem, sometimes poor idle, etc. Sometimes the problem was minor - like a loose connector, bolt, etc. Othertimes, it was a serious problem, component failure, internal engine problems, etc.
He was saying that although they anticipated shipping, but would have to waitlist these cars until they got the problems resolved. As a result, it would appear on the bill as something that should have shipped, but was deferred to another shipment and other completed cars would take its place. (Similar to what's appearing on WW shipment on the Carmen)
Once again, from a pessimist stance- this means that a waitlisted car could have been one of the problem childs, but the owner would have never known. On a more positive note, its kinda like a refurb. They knew there was problems, fixed whatever was wrong, and fully tested it to make sure it was at spec before it left the plant.
Now the question I have, should I be worried that I got a waitlisted, have a "Monday AM" car, or is this occuring for some other reason??? We'll find out. As I said previously, I asked WW what the reason was - hopefully its something on their end rather than Mini's (which might explain why its booked, but not loaded).
Any other person with industry experience to comment?
Why an I worrying myself!!??!? Hey, its hard not to constantly think about crusing in my new Mini

Booking number on WW site: I select Booking Number and enter GBSOU121406 and get a total of 10 VIN's all with a REMOVED status of today. Are these 10 MINI's supposedly headed over on my ship that were removed from the shipment?
For those of you that are freaking out that the Carmen has already left Southampton and your status has not changed there is still some hope. The WW site does not provide real time data, it is a little behind. Several of us on the Isolde that left Southampton on the 11th did not show Loaded on Vessel until the 12th. It also seems that the date/time that they show for Loaded is actually the time the information gets entered - not the time your car gets loaded. My status continued to show Waitlist Status until the 12th when suddenly (I was checking every 5 minutes) it showed Loaded on Vessel. So unfortunately you have to give WW a day or two to get everything updated. Until then, don't give up hope. Try the chant......LOADED, LOADED, LOADED.......it worked for me.
Hey PDX_Mini, Airwolf and any other Isolde shipmates out there. I have not been able to find our ship on the Oceanweather site either and according to MINI I am still Awaiting Transport. I'll take the WW info as good and assume that our ships captain is too busy motoring the Isolde to report the weather. Not sure about those that are status REMOVED - just glad mine is not.
Hey NUMMYTIME - For information on WW go to the MINI2 website and look at the FAQ here:

Well I was happy to see I was not removed from the Carmen... (sorry to those removed but I hear your MINIs are in good company!!) I even have a bill of landing # now... so I am quite sure that my MINI is on the boat starting the party.....
don't feel bad richard,
i ordered my mcs on 21st-oct, 2002.
those on the isolde may have to be bumped to the april club?
even those of us on the carmen could very well have their
cars by 29th-apr!
what the...?

Unfortunately not, dot-scott. The ISOLDE dosen't arrive at the port in CA until May 1st. Sooo, at the earliest, the MINI's on the ISOLDE will arrive at their new homes in the first week of may.
Fun2mtr, I haven't been able to find the ISOLDE either! I check once or twice a day, and I find nothing! I'm still awating transport on the MINI owners lounge as well. I also talked to MINI USA and my dealer, and neither of them have any more information for me. MINI USA says that I will have to contact the dealer for any additional info, as they do not have access to any information after the car is 'shipped' which I am assuming that it has been. I guess I've just got to be patient!

I did a little looking around and found that the MINI's that where received at terminal and booked for the Carmen on 12/04/2003 were all to mostly all waitlisted for the next boat. My theory is that the MINI's are all booked for the next ship scheduled with the right destination log as soon as they are received at the terminal. They then fill the ship with as many MINI's as they can and the rest get waitlisted for the next ship. I believe they do this to guarantee their vessels are full when they leave port. Kind of a floating freight system vs. reserving boat place for every individual piece of cargo. If you make it you make, if you don't you wait for the next. Just may theory.
To put your mind at ease Ball. Their are a lot of us waitlisted. If we all have quality check problems at the factory, that would look very bad for MINI and be very hard for them to yield any profits with that many errors in assembly. I think our MINIs are just kicking back ocean side and taking in their last few moment in the mother land.

i apologize airwolf,
i was thinking primarily
of those who should be getting off in NY.
then again, i recall reading that the port at NY
was severely backed-up...
the more time i have, the more i can fix
up my current car for trade-in.
patience...

>>Wow! You guys only wait 2 months on the list!!! I have a 5 month nearing 6 waiting list in the UK!!!!!! The things are only made down the bloody road from me in Oxfordshire! ARRRGGHHHHH!!!!!
Richard, the wait in the States depends on where you are and how many cars the dealer in your region is allocated. I ordered my Cooper in mid-October, exactly six months ago, and won't get it for another four to six weeks... so I'm right there with you. I'm in Seattle by the way.

We're on the Carmen and really getting excited.
I went down to the MINI dealership today just to sit in one and jazz myself a little more. Ours is headed for New York and then what ever it takes to get to Minnesota.
I bought the little Ertl Mini scale reproduction model ( the BRG w/ white top like ours) and cut out a picture of my wife ( to scale...of course) and set her up in the drivers seat. That could have been a mistake, but the perks were worth it
Jimbob
MC, BRG w/white top, sunroof, Cold and sport packages, anthracite/kaliedo,xenons.

Heres what I heard back from WW on waitlist status:
Erik,
Thank you for your inquiry, we understand that you are anxious to
get your new Mini.
We receive quite a lot of Mini's for shipment to the US in Southampton,
due to space requirements we may waitlist a number of cars on a vessel
in case there is extra space available. Cars are shipped FIFO, note that
some cars may be received in our system and based on manufacturer hold,
instructions, space etc not be loaded immediately.
In our tracking system you may as a result see that a car has been booked
and received against "several" vessels, with load confirmation as a
final export status on the "last" vessel.
I have been to Soutyhampton on several occasions and it is quite amazing
to see all the Mini's lined up, in any colorcombination available, ready
to be shipped to their respective owners.
If you have additional questions let us know.
Best Regards,
Eyvind Thiis-Evensen
