I called my dealer in SC, and Linda said possibly end of the week or first of next week, I should have my MINI. I'm having the rally lights installed, so it may delay my delivery by one day.

woo-hoo!
i picked up my MCS on friday afternoon around 4p.
all is well and as i expected...except the bonnet stripes.
i have to make an appointment with service to have them applied this week.
other than that, it's wonderful!
---
that afternoon, my girlfriend and i were going through a residential
neighborhood, and passing soccer fields on our right. a soccer dad
had parked his mini-van on the left of the street, and must have saw
us coming from a few blocks away, as he just stood there.
he folded his arms, and had this huge grin on his face as we rolled by.
---
these reactions are similar to what i used to get in my '67 mustang.
i know i smile the whole time i'm behind the wheel!
cheers!

OK, I couldn't wait for the dealer to call. So at break time I scooted down to the holding lot, just a few blocks from the office, and yep there he was. VIN number matched. My MINI is here, and it looks great. better than I imagined. I'm way to exited to get any work done now.
>>bnbnaro. I live in Arlington. I'm hoping my DS/DS MCS with Sport pkg and multi-function steering wheel come in this Friday.
sounds awesome! i work in arlington so i will hope to see you motoring this weekend. will let you know if i hear anything from my MA. he is supposed to call today in reference to some other things. did your EDD change today? mine is reading today's date (no, i'm not getting my hopes up, yeah right).

My EDD updated from 5/6 to 5/11. Obviously still screwed up. My MA says it is slotted for a truck and should be here any day now.

Sorry about the back-to-back posts, but............ my MA just emailed me to let me know my MINI S is here!! It just came off the truck at the dealer 2 minutes ago. i can't believe it. What a nice surprise. Unfortunately I may not be able to get down to Richmond until Friday to get it.
My MA called today and told me my MINI just rolled off the truck. Unfortunately I won't be getting it until the 2nd of June. Work is just too demanding right now and the dealership I purchased the MINI at is over 700 miles away.
This is going to be a tough 21 days.

Just a few more nights dreaming of your Mini PDX. June will be here sooner than you think.
My MA called last saturday and said mine has arrived. Hopefully I'll be driving it this coming saturday.

We picked up our MINI tonight
We took turns drivng and what a great car! Not enough time to give her a good tryout...Hell, we just mostly sat and stared at it...can't believe we own a MINI!!
It was worth the wait.
I'll report more when we get a chance to drive for an extended time.

My Mini's been at the dealership for about a week and a half now.Everything is set and ready to go except for one thing,I can't get rid of the car I'm driving now.I've posted in the newspaper,on the internet.I had it sold last week, but the guy starting feeding me excuses when it came to actually handing over money.
I took pictures of the Mini at the dealership.Everyone likes the colour combination. The dealer will hold the car until the end of May before he sells it to someone else.I've got two weeks left.Anyone have any ideas?
I'll have to start a new thread. The "So close,it hurts non Mini owners"club

Hey Bird - I think we might have ordered our MINIs through the same dealer. Did you buy in Milwaukee? I know you're in Madison (or maybe you went down to Chicago to get yours). I saw you asked Black'n'Blue if he was in the Chicago area. I have him listed in Kansas City. If you did order from International MINI, please keep me posted if you hear from the dealer. I've never received one phone call or E-mail from them this whole wait, but think it should be drawing to a close as many aboard the Tosca are being notified! I'll be jumping everytime the phone rings now!!

stinger -- so happy for you!!! i went by the dealership last night and they said our car may have just come off the truck but they were in the process of "checking them in." he said there was a good chance he would call today to set up an appointment. they still have to add some features (cd changer, etc) but that should only take an hour or so. we filled out all the paperwork and all we have to do is pick up the car! the waiting is almost over, thank goodness. one interesting thing: he did say that they get shipments every day at that dealership. anywhere from 3 to 20 cars arrive a day depending on how many they sell the day before. so the implication is that if someone can't pick up their car until 2 weeks after it arrives, it backs up the list of other soon-to-be-owners...strange. anyone else hear of this or am i just being an idiot?
congrats to those who have received their minis!
My MCS was on the Jingu Maru, so I guess I'm a few days behind you Tosca guys (can't wait!). My question is, what should I be doing now? I know there exist somewhere a list of ALL the dealer-programmable options (not the 4 or 6 they actually ask you about)...can someone point me to a page/thread that lists the latest stuff? I want to email/fax that over to my MA so it's ready when the car gets here. I know I want to ask if they add dealer nameplates and if they can be left off. I saw a great list of stuff to do the day of pickup, but I'm mostly interested in what I should tell the dealer to do/not to do when the car comes in...
BlackKnight -
I too was on the Jingu Maru and now I'm just trying to be as patient as possible for the next week or so until I can pick up my MINI. Anyways, I have the web site that lists all the things to do/check before you pick up your car. I'm going to call my MA in a couple of days to make sure he knows all the things I do and don't want them to do. Here is the website:

>>YEAH!!! I just got a call from our MA and the car is at the dealership and we pick it up tomorrow!!! This time tomorrow we will be on our way to the dealership. The wait is truly almost over.
Which ship were you on?
Which ship were you on?
Which ship? I'm waiting in Nashville for a car off the TOSCA. EDD is 5/13 but no call yet. Called ASKMINI and they said they don't track it anymore.... I've sold my car and it will be picked up this weekend. Don't want to drive the truck every day.

Deak, mine was also on the Tosca; offloaded in NYC and made it to the dealer in Richmond VA yesterday. Your wait should almost be over.

Nigel came home tonight!
Built in Oxford March 28; shipped April 11; arrived in California May 1; arrived at the dealer May 9; sitting in my garage near Seattle May 13.
All the options were right, the pre-delivery inspection went fine, there are a couple of programming options I want to change but it's no big deal, and like so many of you I can't believe this has really happened to me after an eight-month wait...
I've only driven him 50 miles but it's the biggest rush I have ever gotten out of a motor vehicle. Other motorists smiled at me. Teenage girls pointed and waved. We took Nigel around to meet a couple of neighbors and three different kids said they want to come over and help wash the car. (Kids love the MINI -- one said it was like a big Hot Wheels car and had to be bodily pried out of there.) My son is over the moon because tomorrow morning he's being driven to elementary school in the coolest car around. His friends don't believe him when he tells them his dad is getting a MINI. Tomorrow will tell.
I'm reading the owner's manual tonight and just admiring the car's curves under the garage lights... the first five hours of ownership have been great. This really is a great experience that's been designed for us...

We took delivery yesterday. She showed up with a whole 7 miles on the odometer. I added another 100 by the time the day was over. It's so hard not to let loose and wind her up past 5,000 rpm (okay, I did it once just to scare my mother-in-law). No buyers remorse here. I've never had so much fun driving, taking the corners in the suburbs at 30mph is even a thrill. Drove all over the city last night, took some pics, will post in the next couple of days.
BTW, I was on the TOSCA, ordered on March 20, 2003.
