After a 5 month wait and 6 hours of driving, my MCS (tenatively named "Roger", assuming I can find/create a decent looking Jolly Roger vinyl for the hood...) is finally home. Photos can be found at: http://photos.yahoo.com/audballio .

Here's a shot of the exterior:
http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/audballio...pg&.src=ph

And one of the interior (I really like the color coordination on this one - yay Silver dash and cloth seats!):

(If anybody knows how to directly link to a Yahoo! photo so it will display directly in this message, please send me a PM!

After going to the Owner's Lounge far too many times to see myself stalled at Awaiting Transport, I now seem to be moving rapidly through "the loop". Last Friday changed over to En Route, and now am At Distribution Center. So much for them changing it only on Fridays! Only the FINAL STEP to go... to the dealer!!!! Someone pinch me please!! Congrats to all the MINI folks on earlier ships (Isolde, Carmen, etc.)...my baby was just unloaded in NY this morning from the Jingu Maru...yay! (let's hear from the other angst-ridden Jingu Maru alums!). So, I guess I'm down to a couple of weeks or less here. I can hardly stand it! (now I just have to sell my Neon so I can afford the MINI)

Well, that didn't work. Doing something wrong I guess. Instead, here's a link where the pics are: KCScammer webpage

Looks good conecarver. Those wheels are my wifes favorites.

It's nice to see the real car instead of a configurator. Bigcliff try this method to see if it works.

<edit> I guess that will not work. It thinks I want to attach a picture. Put [/img] at the end of the url and use the same at the beginning without the /.

BigCliff-nice pics! I think they might be twins... what options did you get? i have all 3 packages, leatherette, Nav, h/k, xenon... and i just traded my black side vents for chrome ones... or rather am in the process as i just broke one of the clips and am hoping that superglue works its magic while i post this... (no glue on 15, of course)

i also ordered a nice whalen shift **** with the mini logo on it, and "15" etched in the center- can't wait, it's en route!

and ordered the center storage shelves and glove box organizer- not here yet either.

did remove the airbag warnigs from visor with denatured alchohol purchased at home depot... works great- just rubbed off w/ a paper towel after 30 secs of soaking with same paper towel...

now back to the glue...

I can't believe that this club has been going since Feb and I'm just getting word of it. If only we had found you all sooner so we could talk with people who knew the agony/impatience we have been going through! We ordered in March and are expecting delivery any day now. Just out of curiousity what boat was your baby on? Ours is now at the VDC and was on the TOSCA. It seems we are one of the few that ordered from Mini of Sterling in VA. What was your wait like from VDC to dealer?

Congrats to all of you who are officially out of the CWFMC and will hope to see you on the roads soon!

Thanks!

BNBNARO, Welcome aboard. If you look back a few pages you will find a post that lists all of the Tosca sailors. I am one of them. I live in NVA and was going to order from MINI of Sterling, but couldn't stand the extra 6 month wait. Don't know how long you had to wait. I ordered mine on 3/24. I am getting mine out of Crown MINI in Richmond. With any luck I'll drive down a week from today to get it. Until the car is scheduled for a truck they can't really tell you when it will be delivered.
What color / pkgs did you get?

All RIGHT... I just got a call from my MA -- and Nigel has ARRIVED at Northwest MINI in Fife (Tacoma) WA, aboard this morning's truck from Port Huneme. What a surprise!

Only last night the Owner's Lounge tracker moved my status to "At Distribution Center" and posted a tentative delivery date of May 12!

My MA said they like to surprise people -- set expectations low and then beat them -- and they sure surprised me...

They need some time to install the alarm. I am picking up Nigel after work Tuesday afternoon, May 13... man, after all this time (I test-drove in September, ordered in October), it hardly seems real.

Tosca sailors - what are you hearing? When are they telling you that you will see the car? My MA just told me that it has been released to a trucking company and with any luck I might have it next Friday. I can't wait!

Is anyone else sailing on the Tanabata? I was originally on the Carmen but got the bump. I had a production date of 4/18, it seems my Mini was a little reluctant to leave its birthplace.

Chrisscat77,

Thanks for the tip on getting the airbag warnings off. I was wondering how I could do that. Hagrid also has all the option packages, except the NAV, plus the black profile leather. Really wanted colored leather to match, but not available with sport seats in the MC.
Sounds like you're off and running with the customization. I ordered personalized plates friday (SZ MTRZ). Ordering a black& gray american flag for the sunroof and mudflaps. Hope to put the Helix cat-back on by Christmas.

Happy motorin'

Hey Stinger - You don't think the reason we aren't hearing from our fellow Tosca sailors is that they already have their kits, do you? All my dealer told me was, "We'll call you when it's in." Looks like less than a week for you (Friday) and I'm hoping I'm somewhere in that neighborhood. That would be great fun for the weekend!!! There seems to be a bit of a lull on this thread as it pertains to us - where is everybody??? NUMMYTIME

P.S. Had a dream my MINI came in and when I went to pick it up, they got my order wrong and it had an interior that was a dreadfully awful purple/red color. I was devastated - like as if I'd just been told I had a terminal illness. That was whacked (but glad I awoke to find it wasn't true)!!!

Nummytime, Stinger, et al,

I was out of town but just checked my status, and I'm showing at the VDC. I have an estimated delivery date of 5/11/03 from MINIUSA. Well, that ain't right.

My MINI will have to be trucked from Charleston, SC to Greenville, SC -- a very short ride. I'll call my MA, tomorrow, and see what's the real scoop, but it should be in very soon.

I've got to get in touch with my banker in the morning. This train is rollin' fast.

See ya,
JS

Ahh, what a wonderful weekend!!! We picked up our MINI on Friday at 4:00pm, and we spent the whole weekend driving and looking at the car! It is such a great addition to the garage! I took a ton of pictures, and I will try to post some this evening after I get home from work. 350 miles down, 850 to go until the break in is over!

Motor On!!

Hey guys, I've just spotted the delivery truck on my way to work this morning with a special surprise on board for me.
Not confirmed by the dealer yet, they still have to log their inventory, but I'm feeling pretty good. Of course I won't be driving "Bruiser" home right away. They still have some tinting and interior extras to do. It won't be long now. I can see the end of the wait. YES!

bnbnaro. I live in Arlington. I'm hoping my DS/DS MCS with Sport pkg and multi-function steering wheel come in this Friday.

Nummytime, I noticed the dropoff too. I think the lull is due to the suspense and the big question mark in everyone's head. Once it says at the distribution center, unless your MA tells you something, you have nothing to go on and can only sit and wait. So everyone is frozen in anticipation. Either that or they are off looking at accessories for the their new toy.
p.s. I haven't had that dream yet, but like yours they haven't all been positive. It's that anticipation thing again. It gets you to thinking about all those worse case scenario things. Not to worry. The wait is almost over.
