I'm on the ISOLDE. though I haven't had any fresh news since getting a "Loaded on Vessel" message April 11. The ship is due Port Hueneme on May 1 or so, but I have no real tracking data.

Assuming she docks on time, my MA in Tacoma, WA told me this weekend a mid-May delivery is very likely... now I'm aiming for Saturday, May 17. May is going to be a big month, he said -- he has something like 70 cars incoming.

I dropped by the Northwest MINI dealership in Fife, WA Saturday and it was pretty devoid of cars, but humming anyway. Only five or six cars on the lot, just one (SB MCS tricked up to $28k) on the showroom floor, and lots of customers poking around. If you order TODAY the wait for a Cooper is down to 4 to 6 months, but the MCS wait is still being quoted as well over a year.

I was told by my MA that my car has arrived but I am still showing loaded on vessel. For those of you that are off the Carmen in NY what is your status showing on the WW site? I'm still showing loaded and the ship has left Charleston. I was just wondering how long it took them to update their site. En route is still showing in the Mini owners lounge.

Cchecklist for Dealer Pickup

WFM Clubbers. Like most of you (ok, all of you), I have been thinking about actually picking up my car. Since I have a 3hr drive following pickup, I want to make sure the car is perfect before I leave the dealership. In doing some research, I came across this site that has a pretty good checklist for dealer pickup.
I thought you might find it useful too.

I just checked the status page again, and it looks like I'm "Loaded on Vessel" on the Jingu Maru, which looks to have sailed from Southamption is due in to NY on May 7th? How do I know if my car is getting off the boat in NY or Baltimore or Charleston? (I'm buying from MINI of St. Louis, MO). At least we're making some progress here! Yay!

Thanks BlackKnight, I used the Mini configurator. If you do a search you should find a link to it. I don't have a link or I would post it for you.

Hey SB,

I'm still showing enroute. WW site shows as being discharged 5 days ago. Dealer recieved the first 12 of 31 MINI's today. Drago is now no.5 on the list. Should be on the next truck. The dealer says there is a very good chance I'll have Drago by the weekend.

SB, i've used the configurator on the miniusa.com site, but it only has a straight side view AFAIK. I haven't seen a 3/4 view like you used anywhere. Did you use the US site, the UK site or something else? That's cool if you don't remember, I'll grab the pic from the May club page...i was just curious. Again, fun little page!

OK just checked w/ shipping web site today and some how my car was removed in the middle of the ocean, because supposedly the ship sailed on 04/25/03 ( Tosca ) and now it says it was removed and put on the Jingu Maru. Hopefully it makes it across the ocean and to the dealer.

Even stranger shipping antics - I was booked then waitlisted from Carmen, Tosca and then Jingu Maru.

The newest quirk on my April 11 build date MCS is that it has been re-booked on the Carmen (which already sailed) and given a booking number that does not exist on the WW site...

What the heck is going on?

Anyone else having sych a strange experience?

Same thing here -strange.... Now it shows removed from everything including removed from the Carmen twice. Last time I checked it showed removed from Jingu Maru also. My build date was also April 11th. :???:

What kind of spec'd Mini's do you jblack73 and Sockin?

Blacknight I used the Mini Configurator that was available for download. Here's the link for the image files. http://minicooper.servepics.com/docs/MINI_AC/Clone-CD/ The iso file. http://minicooper.servepics.com/docs/MINI_AC/ISO/ And lastly the instructions. http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...ight=configure

You may want to read the instructions first before downloading. I've already burnt a cd so I'm thinking all I needed was the iso file. Once you burn it then it should run for you from the disc.

Actually my Mom got the first new Ford T-Bird in Oregon and they said she didn't have to have a front plate. She checked 'cause they were custom so that's what I'm basing it on. Regardless, my dealer is not drilling mounting holes and I'll just play dumb if I ever get pulled over.

Wierd...If I'm not too busy at work today, I'll have to give the DMV a call and see what they say. Maybe I will talk to one of the local cops in Canby too, as I'm really curious whether or not the law has changed!! If it has, I'm going to go out and take my front plate off of my S2000!

15 got off the carmen in NY, and shows a staus of 'discharged' on the 23rd. however, the miniusa site still shows her en route...

my MA estimates another 2 weeks before arrival at the dealer...

Our Mini was unloaded last week from the Carmen. The Owner's Lounge shows us still en route and our delivery date as today, the 29th. I called the dealership and was told that we're in transit and could have our Mini in 3 or 4 days. Getting close now!
We're in Minnesota, so other mid-west orderees have to be receiving their Minis any day now also:D

SB, thanks for taking the time to throw those links to me. I will definitely dig on that!

To keep this on topic, looks like my MINI managed to "stick" on the Jingu Maru so, unless it also gets mysteriously unloaded en route, it should hit the US on May 7. Yay! I don't know much about the Distribution Centers or the rest of the process (where/what, etc.)...how long can I expect it to take my MINI to hit St. Louis after it's unloaded here? Will it unload in NY or where?

BlackKnight, My MINI is heading to Kansas City by way of NY. I think perhaps your will go through NY as well. As for amount of time, I'm not sure but I sure hope it is less than 2 weeks from Dock to Dealer.

Well, I finally got fed up with the lack of updates from the W&W and OL sites - it felt like all the cars on the Carmen that didn't get off at NY simply fell off the face of the planet! Anyway, I just got off the phone with the dealership, and it turns out that my MCS is in transit to the VPC, with an estimated delivery to the dealership on the 3rd or 4th of May. (OL site has shown the 2nd ever since it got on the Carmen, so it looks like their predictions are rather accurate). Less than a week to go!!!

Just checked the Owner's Lounge and we are shown as being at the distribution center also. Last night we were still "en route".
I'm thinking that we'll have our MINI by the weekend.

I was encouraged by the dealership to make final arrangements of accessories.
Of course we'd like a ton of stuff...but will have to be fairly frugal to begin with.

This is getting exciting
