>>The Wallenius-Wilhelmsen cargo tracking site reports my car was "loaded on vessel"... and when I click on the "Voyage Number" up top the Southampton line now appears in red, indicating the ISOLDE has sailed for the States. Hope you're on there too.
>>

I'm still at *Cargo is in Waitlist Status so it appears I did not make it onto this sailing.

Can't tell you the words going through my head right now...

I can relate. My Mini's been kicked off two boats so far.Looks like I'm getting a car with some attitude.

Seriously.I've heard that there is a hugh backlog of cars at the port in NYC.Until the backlog is taken care of,I guess my car will sit on the docks.

Actually, this will work to my advantage,I hope.I will be able to get more money together, and pay off my current car more. This is how I'm looking at it.

Sorry I didn't help much.

PDX_Mini - It looks like you are not alone. I am still on waitlist also with no update to my information yet. I am still hoping they have just not finished the update of what was loaded. I do not want to think that I am sitting there in a parking lot ready to go and was left behind. Tell me it isn't so......

>>I'm feeling a little lef out here with everyone talking about which ship their MINI is sailing on and wondering about my May delivery. My status changed to Awaiting Production on the MINI Owners Lounge yesterday so I called ASk MINI and they said that it is just waiting around to start production. There wasn't much elaboration except to say that they did minor things and that it wouldn't really get going until the week of the April 25. I did finally get a VIN though. Are all of you guys left coasters? ....nothing wrong with that, spent most of my life in San Diego. Maybe since I am on the East Coast now and it is an easier/shorter sail, I can still expect to see it in May.

That is my story exactly. I just got my VIN today and the status finally changed to scheduled for production during the week of the 25th. Although a few days ago it was schedule for production the week of the 18th. I'm on the east coast in Florida. I'm also still hoping for a may delivery. The dealer said it should arrive in 6-8 weeks. I guess all I can do is try to be as patient as possible...

See if you can figure this one out:

- ISOLDE shows it departed Southampton on 4/11/03, at which time my car was still in Waitlist status. I check it again this morning and now I show LOADED ON VESSEL, but the time I was loaded on the vessel was a day AFTER the boat left port (4/12/2003 @ 10:31).

...and if you can, do you think I am on the boat or is there some drunken scan operator at the port playing mind games with us all?

PDX_Mini - It sounds like what I hoped for is true, at least for you. They must have some inconsistent method of updating the cargo data so that it is not all done at once. I am still showing on Waitlist but you give me hope that they just need to revise my information. My guess is that they just display the time that your information was loaded, not your MINI.

Problem - now I have to sit here and keep checking the WW site until my information is showing either Loaded On Vessel or booked for next Friday's ship. LOADED, LOADED, LOADED, LOADED, LOADED.............

I did the same chant and it worked for me...I also got drunk but I think that was just a side effect from saying LOADED too many times

Good luck!

Alright!! I just checked the WW site, and my MINI was 'loaded' on the ISOLDE at 12/04/2003 13:41!! Interseting that the voyage page says that it sailed on the 11th!! Heck, as long as my car is on there, it dosen't matter to me!!

I can't seem to find the ISOLDE on the OceanWeather.com site. It says soemtimes ships do not check in as it is not mandatory. If anyone finds the ISOLDE via GPS on a map let me know - I'd like to track it across the pond.

The call sign I found for the ISOLDE is 9V5544 (hope I'm using the right one).

I don't see it either. Everything you had sounds right. On the OceanWeather site check out the Current Marine Data for Global and choose Wave Graphics. That green to yellow area in the middle of the pond could be fun - 35 to 45 foot waves. Hold on guys

dot-scott - I got an error when trying to go to the WW main page but can get into the cargo tracking page. Not sure what is up.

Good luck to everybody getting on the Carmen.

If we don't get some posts we are heading for page 2.

Welome Mini_for_Me  Added you to the list above. Either I just missed you or SB is really fast with the updates on the Can't Wait for May site - which has been the case so far. Any more ISOLDE partiers out there?

Hey Lastwave,

The WW site shows the Trinidad,TOSCA,and the AIDA all departing Southampton before the Jingu Maru on the 28th.What I don't know is,if those other ships are dedicated automotive transports,or just regular bulk transporters.

If I were to guess,I would say your Mini should arrive at the dealership sometime by the middle or end of May.Here's something you don't want to hear.If the VDC is really backed up,I'm talking 3-4 weeks, then your car might not show up until early June!

Before you start screaming at me as the bearer of bad news, remember that my Mini's is in the same situation that yous is.

The WW website has a Fleet List here:

http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/Ocea...etInternet.pdf

The Carmen was built in 1982 with a Singapore flag. On the US Coast Guard site there is one ship that meets that description with a call sign of SGUC. Not sure about the rest of your questions.

Thanks Oilman I prefer to suffer with company  If it is June it isn't so bad at least I'm reasonably sure the snow will be gone and classes end on the 12th or so no more teaching until August ...oh well.

Where does it list how many Minis are on the ship? I put in the booking number for Carmen and it only comes up with 171 cars. I can't find the over 400 like was mentioned earlier.

Lastwave if you get through the vdc quickly then it should only take a few days to get to Chicago. Does Mini have any idea why you changed ships? Is it because of the backlog in NY?

Go here: http://213.31.205.37/GLWebApps.AppTracking
Click on Track by booking number
Enter "GBSOU121413"

I come up with 597 MINIs!

That's wierd. My booking number for the Carmen is GBSOU122417. My Mini is not listed when I search for it under the booking number you gave.

<edit> I think I know why the different booking number. Your listed destination is NY and mine is Charleston. Maybe that is the difference in amount of cars. There are more cars going to NY than Charleston and the company may use several booking numbers per shipment. It had me worried there for a moment.
