I've set up the financing at my credit union but BMW/Mini said they could beat it. Under 4% is what they have offered so I may take them up on that. Not much else going on except for feeling like a pimp trying to sell my car.
>>Sounds like we're in/on the same boat, Stinger. Mine also went to the dock on the 18th. Looks like we'll be coming over on the Tosca which is set to sail on 4/24.
Did you get the boat name off the Wallenius site? I checked my VIN # on Friday and it didn't show that they had anything on it. I left the # at work so I haven't checked this weekend. If its due in NJ on the 2nd I have to get hot selling my current car. I tried this weekend but I'm not having much luck. I'm like you, I check the site a couple times a day to see what's new. I'm almost 50 so it seems kind of dumb to be this spooled up about a car. I've had over 15 different sports cars, but never a new one so this is a unique experience for me. I wouldn't call it a mid life crisis since I've had Porsches for the last 12 years. But, damn these things get under your skin! I can't wait!!

Hey Stinger - Hope by now you can find the whereabouts of your MINI! I'm guessing that there was just a delay in entering the info into the computer.
Just so we're on the same page, this is where I'm getting my info from:
http://213.31.205.37/GLWebApps.AppTracking (it is the WW site)
Click on Auto
Enter last 7 digits of VIN for Cargo ID and click on Track
Something should come up saying when your vehicle was received and booked at the dock in Southampton. (The lyrics to "The Ballad of John & Yoko" take on an all new meaning for me! (... standing at the dock of Southampton...trying to get to Holland or France)
Above this should list the following:
Cargo ID
Booking #
Vessel (name of ship)
Voyage (mine is EQ311-TOS)
Click on the Voyage number (it should be underlined) and you should see arrival and departure dates for this ship at various ports. The next time the Tosca (my[and hopefully your] vessel) is to sail out of Southampton is 4/24.
Keep me posted as to when you get results!
P.S. I'm glad you're jazzed up about the upcoming fun we're about to have. It's nice when someone else understands the excitement. I'm 39 and female and my husband just doesn't get it. (I thought guys were the ones to get juiced up about cars!) I think he regrets coming home from work everyday cuz he knows I'll be geared up to spew out all the new info I've learned in the past day.
I posted this on another site and don't know if you caught it, but please check out the following - it's really worth a look... get ready to smile!

I'm biding my time with trying to figure out how to pay for the car.I'm three years into a 5 year loan on a SVT Contour. How was I suppose to know that my Contour would become pretty much worthless when I bought it.
I could try to sell it,but with a payoff,I would first have to pay the bank, wait for the title to be sent to me,and finally get the car transferred to the new owners.I don't think anyone handing over hard earned cash would want to wait a week before they could take the car. There is no way I would give anyone the car with my name still on the title.
Other wise.I'm thinking about accessories that I want to buy.One thing I have done,I've purchased non runflat tyres for the car.Goodyear is having a $50.00 rebate offer when buying a set of four tyres.Since I'm buying a regular Cooper,I don't need the run flats.

You can sell your car without worry about the name on the title. Your state motor vehicle department should have a Bill of Sale report that you and the buyer sign when the cash is taken. You turn this form into the DMV the same day and your are in the clear. Getting insurance is the buyers problem from this point. If the new buyer is using a bank loan then the bank taking over the lien will get the title after your loan is cleared. We had no problems with our last car sale with this method. Hope this helps your situation.
Waiting patiently for REX my MINI Cooper!!

Carmen docks tomorrow
And I am taking the SUV to the FORD dealer tomorrow for the final work it needs (and terrified of about what the bill will be!!). Then I will cruise by the MINI dealers' this weekend and see if they are interested. If they are I get out of my annual insurance premium that is due the first week of May.

Hey Oilman- Are you also replacing your wheels? I think I remember that you are getting the sport package. I am looking to trade my r-84's (taken off at the dealer) for another set of r-83's. Mark at DR was looking to buy a set of r-84's. If you are interested maybe we could come up with a three-way deal or something. Good luck with your delivery. It will be fun seeing another MINI zipping around Valley Forge!!

Nummytime,
Thanks. I had the WW site info, but forgot to bring my VIN number home over the weekend so I couldn't check. I just visited the site and yes, I'm on the Tosca too. Looks like the car will be in sooner than I expected. BTW, the video was cool. Thanks for the link.

Stinger, Nummytime,
I'm booked on the Tosca with you. The waiting is painful. I'm so jealous of the guys who are on the Carmen. I was booked on it, but didn't make the cut. But our time is coming. Will be watching the WW site all day on 4/24 to see when my baby loads.

MY PLEASURE! - our cars set sail this week - can you believe it? I ordered mine 3/30 and from all the moaning and groaning about the long waits, I believe I really have it made. Having said that, I'm dreaming of my CR/W MCS nightly and then daydreaming about it when I'm awake! Were your waits similar to mine or longer? Glad to see I'm in good company!

Nummytime,
I ordered mine just a week before you did. I would have ordered sooner but I kept waffling on the color. Since the production time was so close I had to have that decision made before I ordered. I went with an all Dark Silver with all Chili Red being a close second. If the red didn't have the black fender molding I would have gone for that, but I wasn't interested in the aero kit just to get color matching fenders. I'm getting mine from Crown MINI in Richmond. How about you?

Nummytime,
Ordered on 3/20/03. At first I had a 4/25 production date, but for some reason it moved up to 4/18, then it was born on 4/12!
Go to sleep thinking about my BRG MCS, dream about it, and spend most of the day daydreaming about it.
Came very close to getting one off the lot, but held out and ordered the S, which i really wanted all along. Looks like everything is working out, arranging the financing and selling our '94 Eagle Vision this week (give me a break, it was my mom's car that we were using as a "transition vehicle."

Howdy folks,
I was expecting a June delivery, but now it looks like I've been rushed through production and may become a May clubber.
I'm booked at the docks waiting on the TOSCA, voyage EQ311-TOS, same as NUMMYTIME.
I've ordered a CR/W S, packages 1,2. Cloth seats, sunroof, silver interior, custom stripes from Cooper Flags, spots, and already have my full rack of toggle switches from jolly old England ready to mount in the car. Will also likely do the Euro shelf mod, too.
Debating whether to go R90's on the Chili Red or just stick with the S-lites.
See ya,
JS

Well my MA called today and said my car would be at the dealership right before Memorial Day. The ISOLDE docks in CA on May 1st and then my MINI gets put on a truck to Utah. On May 29th I'm jumping a plane from Portland to Utah and picking it up early Friday morning and then taking a leisurely 3 day drive back home...and getting rid of half my break-in mileage at once!
I would have ordered sooner but I kept waffling on the color. Since the production time was so close I had to have that decision made before I ordered. Wow - speaking of waffling on the color... I had my heart set on a Chili Red and had gone in a couple of times to look/test drive. When the day finally came to put my order in, there was a Dark Silver in the show room and it was soooo classy looking. (It's amazing what just a different color can do!) My husband had his eye on that one and put his 2 cents in on what he thought. I currently drive a red Fiero so he suggested a change, but he's got a Silverado in basically the same Dark Silver so I didn't want a totally "gray garage". After pacing the showroom for about 30-45 minutes (and the dealer saying, "Geez, just flip a coin!"
, I decided to stay with my original decision, although I felt sick on the drive home.... did I make the wrong decision? I was almost tempted to call and have it changed, but then a friend of mine brought me back around. She pointed out that red was my first pick and she thought I should stick with it, stating, "You're more of a red person anyway." That was a silent drive home and I couldn't believe how I felt after putting in the order after all this time and dreaming of wanting one! I've come around to believing I made the right decision for myself, but you've made a very good one too! I'm in Milwaukee and got mine at International Autos. Too bad we don't live closer to one another - we could trade at times for our second color choices!! What am I saying, trade? We won't be able to part with them once we get em!

>>Me too MINIUSA shows eatimated deleivery date as 4/28, which may be wishful thinking, but I am happy with the update
Where on MINIUSA can you see your estimated delivery date? All I have to go on is what the dealer gave me upon ordering it. Mine isn't due until 5/28 (per dealer's quote) - maybe that's too far out to have a better idea. Just wondering and needing more things to look into to take up this lag time that is "THE WAIT". This is killing me!!!!

Hey Minitothemax,
I sent you a PM about doing a possible wheel swap.
Well,it looks like my 17 years with fast Fords is about ot come to and end.Not a moment to soon.
I guess I won't bring up that the Mini is partially built in a Ford plant, and actually uses some Ford parts in minor areas. No,I shouldn't bring that up.
