>>Well my MA called today and said my car would be at the dealership right before Memorial Day. The ISOLDE docks in CA on May 1st and then my MINI gets put on a truck to Utah. On May 29th I'm jumping a plane from Portland to Utah and picking it up early Friday morning and then taking a leisurely 3 day drive back home...and getting rid of half my break-in mileage at once!
>>
>>

PDX_Mini, does the MINIUSA site show an estimated delivery date for you? I just checked, and my page dosen't show an estimated delivery date yet. I wonder if I should give my MA a call and see if she has any additional info for me.

nummytime,

the estimated delivery date is on "review order detail"
in the owner's lounge.

...and don't feel badly, i waffled on dark silver and chili red too,
and made the same final choice as you...and i'm very happy with it!

hey, that always leaves us a clear option for mini #2!

It looks like if you're still on "awaiting transport" status, like me and others who are booked on the Tosca, you don't get an estimated delivery date. Probably gets added when your status changes to en route.

I think that the estimated delivery date gets added whenever MINIUSA gets around to it. I am on the ISOLDE (not me...my car!) and I still do not have an estimated delivery date, but my MINIUSA page says that I am En Route. Maybe they only give estimated delivery dates once the boat is close to the port of entry.

It's showing my estimated delivery date as 4-30-3. It should arrive in Charleston this thursday but still has to make it to Tennessee.

After the whole journey of the Carmen atleast we know where it is today. Watch them update so they show on that tracking site now.

I'm showing an estimated delivery date of 4/27. Though Motor City Mini is very accomodating, some how I doubt that they will deliver on Sunday. When last I talked to them they said it usually takes about 2 weeks after the boat arrives for them to deliver.

YEH CARMEN!

My VR/B Cooper is finally reaching shore! Congrats to all riding along, and welcome to America. Hope this doesn't toss me from the CWFM club.....

Saw a reference to Mini financing on an earlier post. I also was told by dealer they would beat my Credit Union deal (3.9%). Anyone actually have experience with Mini financing? Good rate? Anything to watch out for?

I just noticed that Carmen's arrival in Charleston has been pushed back from the 24th to the 26th. What? Does the crew think they can have a layover and party in NY? They shouldn't be rewarded because they couldn't update their location while at sea.

Nope. My MA called and told me it would show up around the 26th so that's what I'm basing it on. Since I have to drive it back from Utah I'm waiting to fly in the following Sunday as they need some time to finish detailing and add the alarm.

My dealer said they will not deliver on weekends so I have to take time off work and fly over there during the week.

SB, the "old" schedule had the CARMEN arriving and leaving NY on the 22nd. The latest schedule shows arrival on the 22nd and departure on the 24th. My guess is that this coincides with the comments I've seen about there being a backlog at the NY port...

dot-scott - Thanks for the support on color choice, but by the looks of your signature line you went with Dark Silver.... Oh No, I chose Chili Red!!!!!! You also list estimated delivery date as early May - did you get it already? I'm guessing so cuz you said you are happy with your choice. Thanks for the info on Delivery Status. Everyone on this site keeps me in the know and I appreciate it!

Gotcha g3. Looks like still others' info takes longer to reflect the actual scene. We must be patient. Soon all your friends will be GREEN (British Racing, no doubt) with envy as you tool the town in your new ride. I'm glad to see so many are over-the-top in tracking their MINIs. Excited anxiousness loves company and makes me feel that I'm not off my head (Shhhh - I can always pretend)!

Nummytime, Dot-Scott: Is it just the 3 of us on the Tosca? Don't worry about the color. You could second-guess yourself nuts. You went with your gut and you'll like it. ....and if you don't you can always buy another! I chose DS/DS and I have never seen one except in a picture, but it just felt right.

Audball I think the Mini's should have priority. Ok, what's the number to that port? Those people need to be set straight.

I guess you need to take the EDD with a small grain of salt. My mini arrived in
NY on 4/11 with an EDD 0f 4/16 but the dealer called 4/18 and told me some
time this week.... haven't heard yet.......

Stinger, I'm booked on the Tosca, also.

Nummytime, I too debated long and hard on the exact same color choice. I had planned all along to do an all dark silver MCS and do lots of chrome accents (grill, mirrors, etc). Then, I saw a Chili Red right after it had been detailed, and I began to change my mind and go toward the red. I currently drive a red Jeep, so I obviously like red cars. They don't show dirt too bad and aren't very hot in the summer. Are you doing stripes on yours? Anything on the roof?

See ya,
JS

JS - thanks for support on color. I know once I lay eyes on my baby - I'll be ecstatically happy with my choice! Nothing on roof and no stripes here. Just called P&L MINI in England and ordered Cooper signature badge and Union Jack badge to add to the back. I really like the looks of the signature and I guess I'd like to pay homage to where the car came from by placing their flag on it. They are both pretty tiny, but I liked them.

So far I'm seeing the following on the Tosca:
Jstines (you)
Nummytime (me)
Stinger
g3
dot-scott

Anybody else out there bon voyaging tomorrow? I'm so happy - I feel like a kid on Christmas morning... thought the days of getting this excited were over for me! Thankfully, they are not

actually i'm on the carmen.

where do you live nummy?
we might have to trade colors for a weekend or so
to satisfy our 2 choices!

it's a shame that the estimated delivery date is so arbitrary.

if mine happens to be right on, i'll actually be an april clubber,
but the may club will always be 1st in my heart!

"Stinger, I'm booked on the Tosca, also."

From Nummytime's post it looks like there are a few of us. I was just checking the tropical weather forecast and noted that the first tropical storm of the year (Ana) is forming up in the South Atlantic and moving east / north-east. This is the earliest in the year they have seen such a storm in many years. Looks like its headed right for the shipping lanes in a few days. I think the water is probably still too cold to sustain any significant strength and hopefully it will all blow north before the Tosca gets close.

While I went with the DS, I am thinking about getting shadow racing stripes front to back.

What a nice thing to say! I couldn't imagine being a June clubber - I'm already having a tough time hanging in there for May. Your Carmen should be docking today, right?

I like the stripes, but the red is already TOO LOUD FOR WORDS (for me) and besides, I keep my cars a long time (had my Fiero for 15 years!) and am even a bit worried wondering if I'll be embarrassed at 55 years of age driving around in a little red sports car! No, I am who I am, and 15 years at this stage isn't gonna change me much.
