Oh and one more thing,

Did anyone else notice that ryephile hasn't posted in OVER 12 HOURS...I'm starting to get worried!
Maybe those of you who have your MINIs should organize a search party (any excuse to motor, right?)

Remember Katie...WE WANT PICTURES!

HFranks,

I've misplaced the page where you posted the screensaver links, could you give me a bump?

thanx, chef
This time I'm going to bed and I really mean it!

The rapairs cost me 300 bucks. there was one catch to the repairs.. he gave me the car back without giving the clear coat adequate time to set so it's got some scratches and bird doo marks that set in it, but he's going buff them out and redo the clearcoat.. at no extra cost of course. just prescious motoring time!

looks like that wasn't the last of the repairs, as I now have a windsheild crack (grew 5 inches today) from a very teeny tiny rock mark that i'll have to get fixed, which won't be too cheap... plus my insurance won't cover it, and i have high deductables, so it'll be all out of pocket for a new windshield. but i plan on an aftermarket one so i won't have to get it reparied quite as soon. 2200 miles so far, and a couple problems, although none specifically MINI-related (although the thin windshield is a problem).. all is well, still love the MINI.

as for ryan's MIA status.. i guess i took over the posting duties.. got a little out of character today...

night,
ryan

ps good luck tomorrow kaaaatiiiiiiiie! join me in the other side!

I can't really provide a link because MINIUSA uses flash so much. If you go to the MINIUSA.com site and then under MOTOR ON on the menu choose DESKTOP MOTORING. This will allow you to choose screensavers. It is the left most screensaver they offer. It is the only little red MCS I"ll see driving around until my car escapes from the VPC.

I justed checked the owners lounge and my estimated delivery date changed again. To recap, for the last week it was 3/26 (Ha Ha). Yesterday it showed 4/5 (tomorrow). Today it was updated again to show 4/4 (Today). I'd love that to be true, but I'll never know because my MA won't return my calls. Unfortunately my dealer is about 40 minutes from home or work or I'd drive out there and poke around myself this evening. Anyone else see this kind of movement on EDD in the OL. Is this a good sign?

My EDD never changes because I have never even seen one in the OL. Fortunately, my MA is very good at returning calls.

Have you tried just asking for someone in sales without telling them who you are. You might find a real live person who can look up your info for you.

I did this yesterday and got a live person who told me he had a lot of paperwork to go through and if he found my car he would call me "next week". This is what happens when you have only one Mini Dealership in a city the size of Washington DC. No competition.

Rachel, is there a lot of snow where you are right now? I drove up last night and didn't hit any snow untill New Hampshire, but now there is like at least a foot of it outside! I'm wondering if there's snow in Peabody too? Just my luck, not only do I have to learn to drive a stick in one day, but now I have to do it in the snow!!!! It's not supposed to snow in April!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the rubber floor mats as well... none for the back seats, but I did get the fronts, and boot mat. I noticed they have an extension for the rear seat backs, but I'm not thinking I'll need that. They do look very cool, so if you're thinking about it, I'd do it.

>>Hey all! I stopped by the dealer tonight and saw my baby in the lot with a "Sold" sign in the window with my name on it. WHOOOOHOOOO!!! I gave her a big hug! I'm going to check in on her over the weekend and I may just do everything I can to get the money situated next week. I don't think I can wait the full 12 days til my birthday to be motorin'. That Chili Red is just too tempting. I will have some great dreams tonight...sunroof open, cruising down the road on a bright sunny spring day....What a great time of the year to get our minis!
>>
>>Til tomorrow....

No kidding... perfect time of the year. I'm sooooo excited. Just in time to have the sunroof open every day that it's not raining!

Katie - right now it's mostly just a dusting.. nothing on the roads. I'm sure the drizzle is kind of freezing too, but Peabody doesn't generally get the serious stuff. Weather reports were predicting 4 inches or so west and north of Boston, so you should be fine. You'll be taking it slowly anyway for a while

Okay... one last post...

I went and saw my baby last night!!!! Pefect. She still had plastic all over the seats, and cardboard covering the insides of the doors. I wish would have brought the digital camera with me so I could post a picture. I'm definately happy with my color choices. I just can't wait to pick her up, crank up the tunes, and then motor! Now, all I have to do is prepare the perfect mix CD to motor home with...

Just to keep the paparatzzi away; this is what I've been doing: Driving, uh, motoring in my VR/W MINI [Yes, Katie, I know, photos] around town. Getting stares, smiles, head-turning, questions. Women checking the car out [hey there , I'm IN the car!]. There's something very Norman Rockwell about it when a 12-year-old says "Nice car, Mister". I'm lucky to have off-street parking in a small lot in my neighborhood. A 60-year-old man who also parks there started asking a few questions. He's a big guy and says "he'd never fit". I said "Wanna bet?". Adjusted the seats, he gets in, and is astonished. I should have mentioned a dollar amount for the bet.

chef r,
Have you heard what today's cruise activities are? I heard Shadowfax won the limbo last night.

Your new sig is great!

I am getting the carpet mats, but I am also getting a rubber boot mat and rubber for the rear seats (my boys play sports and often have muddy shoes.) I am interested in tinting as well, but do not want to go too dark. What % are you thinking about? I am not getting an alarm.

Regards,
