My MCS actually started out being Red with a black roof, but I changed to silver... a little more classic... and when I changed the color, I also changed from the black leather to the space cloth. I figured with the pure silver exterior, the interior will just help set the car off that much more. C.

Kpyto - Welcome to the Club!!!!
I am a proud soon-to-be MC owner who was planning on adding the stripes (I don't have the Sports Package). My dealer was charging me $195 for material and labor. I think it's completely bogus that they would even charge you and even if they do it shouldn't cost that much!

Now I think I'm going to go to a sign shop and have them custom make white/black rule stripes. It should be half the cost and they will be exactly the size and style I want! That's always an option too.

I hope you get that sorted out! And welcome again!!!!!

I've seen a few around here... they're actually pretty nice (and I usually detest white cars... maybe it's a phobia from totalling a white one once

This is SO definitely the worst part!

I talked to my MA today. I asked him if he knew any more than a proposed EDD of 04/04 and that the car is at the VPC. He said that since my car is still listed as at the VPC and not on a truck yet, It won't be here this Friday He didn't know anything beyond that.

Cheers,
Ryan

Rachel I'd love to see that dance on the swollen knee! Have you ever seen the movie Best In Show? I keep picturing you walking around like Cookie Flek at the end when she busts up her leg. Take it easy though, your mini will be here soon and you better be all healed by then!

So Carl, when are you picking up your hot stuff? Love the Red interior! I put your "spy-shot" in the graduates page!

(in other news), I got my RA# from Tire Rack today, they were very helpful! I'm gonna send them off tomorrow, and then give Randy a call and order the H-Sport springs. Randy was great to chat with, and very knowledgable! The H&R's have similar spring-rate balance front-to-rear as OEM MCS, but shift the corner weight rearward, whereas the H-Sports keep the corner weights the same, but increase the rear rates significantly, helping to reduce understeer. I'm gonna suggest that the H&R's are better for a less experienced enthusiast or if you just want to lower the car, and the H-Sports for the experienced drivers and weekend-racers.

Cheers,
Ryan

Hey CWFAC'ers! I hope you're all doing well waiting for your MINI's. You all sewem to be a lot more calm than I was, which is a good thing (as Ryan, Katie, Zero, and Max can attest to). Trust me when I say that the wait is totally worth it!

Ok, here's the deal.....

The car is unbelieveable. It's the closest you can come to having fun, but not doing anything illegal. The handling is becomes even more outragous the more you drive it and become more comfortable with it's capabilities. The car looks incredible and if I weren't married already I would have more ladies than Bonzo would know what to do with. The car is a total "chick magnet" as my son calls it.

I got my Navigation CD today and started playing with it already. Works very well so far. I have 338 miles on it since last Friday night. We are headed to Great Adventure this weekend and should have a blast in the great weather we have been blessed with in the MId-Atlantic.

Here's a link below to some pictures of Bonzo this evening (page 208 in the Members Mini's, if there's a problem). Biggest difference is the lights and stripes. Makes all the difference if you ask me. The pics were taken at night, just after his bath. I promise to get day pictures this weekend and I will post them.

Great to hear your MINI's the "chick magnet" Birdie!

Birdie's MINI #1
Birdie's MINI #2
Birdie's MINI #3

CONGRATS!
also, I already know all about the brake dust, as you found out! My Bimmer was the same way with stock pads, UF! I already have EBC Green stuff for the fronts, and Tire Rack has the rear's on Backorder, doh! For a how-to, look at RandyBMC's "how-to's" in the Performance Modifications Forum.

Cheers,
Ryan

Welcome Kypto!

My MINI started out CR/B too, the only difference is that it stayed that way

Almost there Katie, go Katie, go Katie.

Thanks for the pointer on the brake pads Birdie and Ryan, that has always driven me nuts with my current car, nice to know there's a solution!

Bonzo looks great Birdie, motor on!

Hey LittleCajun, thanks for sharing your "newborn" pics...you must be just about vibrating you're so close!!!

par4-1 day closer on the Jingu baybeeeee!!!

Peace,

chef

Hello All! Well, here's my update. Good news and bad....
Good news - My Chili Red friend has made it to the dealer safe and sound! and 2 hubcaps are bent (don't ask). Ugh. I am afraid the charges will add up.

Also - two more questions....what does everyone think of daytime running lights? And what does everyone think of the new mini color - Solid Gold!?!?!

Have a great day! Kristine

So green stuff break pads eh? I was told that reason the mini gets so much brake dust was because the pads are very very soft, and that this is why it has such awesome stopping power. I know it's not like haveing a 6th gear or anything, but this is one of the unique MINI aspects of the car that I was very impressed with. If I were to switch brake pads, wouldn't this change a bit? Is there a reason why you guys specifically reccomend the green stuff brand?

Kelisa I didn't get daytime running lights, because I wanted to be able to turn my foggies on, without haveing to have the headlights on. A little superficial I guess, but I hear that driving with just the fogs and parking lights on at dusk looks really cool. And I'm a little bummed that we don't get to be the first club to have a Gold member (hehehehe)!

Good morning all.

I would love to see a photo of a gold mini. If anyone sees one, post a picture.

I wonder if the green stuff brake pabs are noisy. I have put harder brake pads on my cars, and have found that they are not as quiet as soft ones. Don't know if this applies to the green stuff pads. Does anyone have them on yet?

When does the owners lounge post an expected delivery date?

Andy

Andy it should have given you one already. Have you been looking in the right spot? It should be 1/2 way down the list on OL that starts with you prodeuction number. Or maybe since they aren't telling us anything once it hit's land now, they aren't giving edd's out either?

If there's a gold mini at my dealership when I go in on friday, I'll be sure to take and post a pic for us!

Thanks for the replies.

I have seen the pic at Miniusa. I want a real life picture.

Katie, that's where I thought the delivery date should be, but there is noe there.

Yesteday I was driving some friends out to breakfast and they were giving me crap about my future mini when a chili red cut in front of me, then tore off like a bat out of hell. Pretty impressive stuff. My friends quit giving me crap about the mini, and got off on how slow my VW was. The mini also had a SF mini plate. Whover that driver was, he/she made my day.

When mine comes in, I will have to go find them.

Andy

I'm not sure what this means, but the OL just updated my estimated delivery date. Until today it was showing March 26 (ha! ha! - an early April Fools joke). Today (OL updated on a Thursday - very strange) the estimated delivery date was 4/5 (Saturday). It still shows me at the VPC.

I called my MA yesterday to ask him to check on the status for me and to enquire about the Audio Aux adapter for my IPOD but as per usual, my MA fails to return my call. I have to say, I have not been very impressed with his responsiveness.

Anyone else see the OL update last night or today?

As an aside, has everyone seen the cool mini screensaver on the MINI USA website. It is a little mini running around cones and jumping over other minis and leaving skid marks. You can customize it so the car is the color of your car. Very nice screen saver.
