Well, I know you all will be disappointed to hear this, but I'm out of this stinkin' club! No more bitchin' from Birdie. No more whinin' about his MINI and how it isn't hear yet. No more me, me, me, me.......Just kidding, the fun in this club has just begun.

Seriously, I picked up Bonzo tonight. My MA and the dealership worked really hard to get my car into the prep process so that I could have it this weekend for my sons Bday. Man am I thankful to have such a great purchasing experience to talk about. Don Rosen MINI of Bala Cynwyd, and specifically Mark O'Neill, rocks! They make it so easy for you and do "the little things" that make the big difference. Such as, putting my lights and stripes on! That's right, they got them on and didn't tell me. So, when they pulled the cover off the car I was so suprised. They are swamped with cars, but knew how important tomorrow is for me and squeezed the work in. I had no expectations of the work being done, I was just hoping to get the car and get the work done when they caught up. But, they went the extra mile and made the customer beyond happy.

The car is awesome. It is so far beyond my expectations. I went for a drive at 10pm through Valley Forge National Park. Lit the road up with the lights, cranked jazz on the HK, and just wound my way through the woods. Couldn't have planned it better.

I feel sorry for those of you who are in the waiting game, but I'll say the same thing to you that was said to me over and over and over again. Just wait, when you get the car it'll all be worth it. And they were so right. Hang in there........the MINI's are coming and can't wait to face to face with you.

I'll take pics when the weather clears up. It's real wet out.

Birdie

As far as I can tell I am in (on?) the same boat as par4, literally. I was waitlisted for Tosca and apparently shadowfax and motor'nMax got back late from the pub crawl and missed the boat. We're scheduled for *THE* party cruise aboared the legendary Jingu Maru set for Monday. Perhaps a Sunday night curfew would be in order for those naughty Ss...still hoping they can make up those four days by sneaking to the front of the line at the vdc (boys will be boys) , another thought it was because I didn't make the boat Don't stay away too long, you've become our VMA (virtual motoring advisor)

What will y'all track obsessively once your babies come home? Maybe we could try to find **** Cheney's "undisclosed location" Probably take some of you master detectives all of 10-15 minutes

Hang in there par4...our ship will come in soon!!

Peace to all!

Yo Birdie, MOTOR-ON!!! ) You and par4 will have a grand ole' time on the Jingu Maru, but let's hope you don't get the "Jingu Maru curse" like Katie, Bbuskas and Kelisa are still experiencing!

Cheers,
Ryan

Hehe, but seriously, your story was so exciting. Congratulations! And be sure to keep those "Dudes" in check today, I'm sure Bonzo doesn't want a bunch of grubby little hand prints all over him by the end of the day!

Birdie: Congrats on bringing Bonzo home! Sounds like a great "getting to know you" ride.

Ryan: Thanks for posting the F150 versus MINI in a 40mph offset impact photos. It made my wife feel better about the MINI. (I always tell her it's safer than a motorcycle.

Regards,
Red

Red: make sure you use the MCO Vacation Sign out Sheet before leaving!

Also: That's great to hear your wife is more comforted with the MINI purchase! The MINI's excellent crash rating (can't get much better than "Best Pick"!) was a big reason behind my purchase! Regardless of awesome handling and great looks, when it comes down to "crunch time", I'm all about protecting #1!

Cheers,
Ryan

Ryan-

Thanks. I was pulling my hair out. But, it's worth it. Having a blast.

On a side note.....do you have the list, or a link, for the "Programmable Options"? I lost my information and my car has to be brought back to have that done.

Thanks,

Birdie

Minitothemax-

Thanks for the picture in my car! A nice suprise. Mark mentioned that you were in earlier in the day. I appreciate you thinking of me and any influence you had on them getting my car ready.

I'm looking forward to meeting you at some point and putting our MINI's together.

Katie,

Where the &*%^#@$ is your car? I'm anxious to hear about the first time you lay eyes on your baby. It's very emotional.......all the wait and then there it is, with it's first words being, "Lets Motor".

Looking forward to the email. Thanks for your support over the past several weeks (which seem like years).

Alright, here's the deal.....

Lousy weather here in PA, but been driving all day. Man what a fun car. A much better ride when the car belongs to you. The handling is superb, no suprises there. I have made many illegal corners at speeds to high to mention. My wife has even driven already and loves it too.

Feature reports:
- HK rocks. Clear crisp sound and the bass thumps.
- No nav. CD yet, so I'll have to report on that later.
- On board computer is very cool.
- Racing lights make all the difference in the world, both cosmetically and visually.
- Sport steering wheel is great. Never had one before.
- I have leatherette sport seats and they are awesome. Nice hugging feel to keep you tight going into the corners.

I'm waiting for some sun to get some pics. Been raining all day and forecast is for snow and sleet tomorrow. Perfect timing huh? Either way I'm motorin'.

That's all for now. I'll keep you posted.

Birdie

Okay.. just got back from 'collecting' some more postcards

I took a few pics of them... a warning that they're not particularly good pics, as I don't have a tripod and I'm twitchy for lack of my MINI..

whoa.. those were a bit too large. Hopefully better now...

and the text associated with them:
LET'S GO UNDERCOVER. Let's go on a stakeout. Let's throw a siren on the roof. Let's squeal the tires and chase some bad guys. Let's take turns behind the wheel. Let's be sure we watch each other's backs. LET'S MOTOR.

LET'S GET HAPPY, C'MON. Let's start a band. Let's hang out in the garage. Let's toss our drum kit in the back. Let's run away from the groupies. Let's remember that the family who plays together, stays together. LET'S MOTOR.

LET'S BUILD A CAR FOR EVEL KNIEVEL. Let's paint it red, white and blue. Let's put a big number one of the door. Let's prepare for the takeoff. Let's jump the rules. Let's jump the status quo. Let's jump SUV's. Literally. LET'S MOTOR.

LET'S JUMP IN THROUGH THE WINDOW. Let's slide across the hood. Let's Bo and Luke-it. Let's Daisy-Duke it. Let's install the loudest Dixie horn in Hazzard County. But seriously folks, let's try to keep them wheels on the ground. LET'S MOTOR.

whee!
