Its especially bad since i had an 04 MCS, so the the withdrawls are bad. Anybody know what to do to make the shaking stop????
Add me to the list of April productions. My car is currently in the paint shop and is due for completion on the 14th! Sadly, I don't think I'm going to make the boat on the 15th, so that means another 4 days of waiting until the next boat on the 19th :(
Generally speaking, does anyone know roughly how long it takes for a car to go from the VPC to Boston? I'm trying to figure out if I'll be driving my Mini the first week of May

Banana Wind was finished on the 8th and is still sitting at the port awaiting a vessell ... I call ASK MINI every morning while the shower is warming up, every lunch, every way on the drive home and right before turning off the TV in bed at night hoping for a status change.
Emailed my MA and he said that they can't put it on a jet.
I can't wait any longer, this isn't fair!!! Why do you do this to us MINI?!!!

I'm so confused...
Wallenius site originally said I was booked on the Teal. As posted later that changed, and showed I was bumped to the next boat, due to load this Friday. But now the Wallenius site can't find any info for my VIN...
Owners Lounge says it's En Route, and my MA says it is due in Charlotte on the 19th. I'll go with that but if it takes a couple weeks longer I won't be surprised.
And I've finally named the little beast - Fafner. Any Wagner fans out there?

yay! the track season has FINALLY begun!
... in the snow. The wilds of New Hampshire International Speedway apparently felt the need to assert that it's not quite spring. The cars loved the cool weather, but my fingers have yet to recover. The brisk winds and open windows made turn-in on some of the turns an exercise in trying to keep your eyes from watering so much that you couldn't see your apex.
And it's really fun to drive back on your track tires in the snow
It was 60 degrees when we drove in, and 38 degrees for the track event.
I should take pictures of my knees from bracing myself on the knee-holes and steering column. Suppose I really should put harnesses on the top on my list, eh?
Yay for the minis making their way across the ocean!

You're right that the weather has been really screwy lately. Yesterday I've got my face buried in a computer screen at work when I get an IM about it snowing outside!
It's such a tease to see such a bright sun and clear day only to step outside to 40 degree weather
Hopefully, it warms up by the time the Mini arrives.

Happy Birthday to MINI! Picked up my MCS two years ago today.
And for you folks about to pick up your car, I know how hard it is to wait. Just spent 5 days in Wisconsin, and it was so nice to see the MINI in the driveway when I got home tonight!
regards,
Red
My MCS just got received at the terminal! Wooohooo
The incredible thing is that this one is booked on the same ship as my 04 was, the Madame Butterfly! Thats pretty kool.
Only bad news is that i thought being finished by the 19th that the car would be here around May 1st or 2nd but the Madame Butterfly isn't scheduled to arrive into South Carolina till May 7th......
I guess this makes me feel a little better about not being able to go to the dragon run this year. I'm already planning next year!
Anybody else on the Madame Butterfly?

There was also a ship name Liberty that was in between the Teal and the Takasago, maybe it is on that one? He seemed pretty confident that it would show on the 27th. I hope he is right!
Lacy Bug was completed today!!
Can anyone tell me when and how will I get my VIN #? Also how do you find out what ship it is going on and what port it is coming into? I will be picking mine up from a dealer in Kansas City. Is there some way to track it once it leave on the truck/trailer on it;s way to KC? I called Gabe my saleman a week ago and left a voicemail forhim to call me and I still have not heard from him, not even an email. Thanks

Once you have your VIN you go to the shipping companies website (posted a few million times here on NAM) and enter your VIN to track your car and find out which ship its on.
There is no way to track the car once its on US soil.
Good Luck!
Absorbine - I somehow got ahead of you, I took delivery last Saturday. Already have the minicircuit installed as well as tint. Pulley, sway bar, wheels and tires are on deck. Gotta get ready for Mid Ohio Memorial day weekend!
Just passed the 30,000 mile mark this weekend. It's been pretty reliable. nothing major wrong. My steering wheel is blistered, and I have to find time to get it replaced.
Last weekend we did Reno/Fernley. If there ever was an "anti MINI" track Reno/Fernley is it. Long slightly downhill 7/10ths mile front straight leading into a very fast series of esses. It's pedal to the medal all the way down the straight, through the esses, then hard on the brakes for a 180 sweeper. Then its more esses, straight, more esses, all uphill, fast right hand turn, jam on the brakes for another 180 sweeper, straight, fast left and back onto the front straight.
The esses were all flat out, not really corners. in a MINI, it's mash your foot to the floor, hang on and watch the rear view mirror for Corvettes. Can't wait to get back to infineon.
Not a great MINI track, but still way more fun than working

Watkins Glen is another high-horsepower track. The Mini holds its own, but the monster cars out there definitely wipe the track with it...
Of course, now I'm trying to figure out where the air in my brakes lines is coming from - and more importantly how to get it out! Three bleeds later - vacuum, pedal, and gravity, and the pedal is still squidgy :( Add to that the new rotors and pads and I'm grandma-ing the car to try to get someplace easier to bleed. Probably going to invest in a pressure bleeder this week as well.
Please don't tell me I should bleed the clutch too. That's one nipple I don't know how to find!
