>>Aida MINIs In No-Man's-Land
>>
>>I called MINIUSA today to get an update, since frustratingly, the Owners Lounge still shows En-Route, and WW still shows 'Loaded On Vessel', yet the Aida has Departed for Baltimore.
>>
>>Apparently those of us who were dropped off in NY are sitting at the docks, waiting to drive over to the VPC. It looks like 2 more weeks before we see it. . . .
>>
>>Is it just me or does the wait get harder by the day now?
>>
>>

no, I feel the same. Got the same info today from askmini :???:

I am also on the Carmen. Looks like it will be pulling into New York on the 27th now instead of the 26th. Rough seas maybe? I too cannot find it on any tracking sites. All I know is that I was loaded on the Carmen at 12:56 on the 18th. She's a floatin...somewhere...

Hope the AIDA people get their's through the VPC soon. What exactly goes on there anyways? I know they "check" the cars for things that aren't supposed to be there (i.e. drugs, weapons, illegal stowaways jammed into the boot of the mini. etc.). Other than that I guess they sort them out by their destination. For some reason I am invisioning Umpa-Lumpa's driving our mini's around the VPC . Man, I need some sleep.

Dear Keeper of the CWFFC: Can't tell you how timely this report was!!! Just minutes after I pleaded for news, you had the most updated of lists and I am so grateful. You are so current and I think that's great. I've practically memorized all of the names of the other 1/24ers and watch for news from them as well. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Another amazing fact --- the CWFFC and its postings are chock full of news, details, encouragement and a minimal amount of fluff and have registered almost 7,500 hits --- certainly a critical mass of excited MINI people, for sure. Anyone who is just lurking and hasn't signed onto the list is missing a chance for great advice and support.

Yes, we ordered ours at Motorwerks MINI - Gretchen has been great to work with - we usually get to take one out for a spin when we visit (we live appx 2 hrs from the Twin Cities & we've only been there a few times to see the new MINIs). During one of our visits - the day we made our down payment in fact - we drove a Silk Green w/W that had the Nav pak.

As itching as I am to find out, I'm, actually looking forward to the surprise on delivery day. Thanks for the offer, anyway.

Just a quick update with no news.

As of this morning: 1/21 status 150 build date 1/31. I can't believe I'm the only car they will build in that whole week! My car must be getting some very special treatment.

Wactuary

ps. Thanks for keeping that list, SMKKVK. It's a lot of work and very appreciated.

TWO WEEKS to get on a ship!!!! WOW that doesn't sound right. I think the general experience here (with a few exceptions) has been that the car is onboard and underway within 48 to 72 hours after being released for distribution

Took my MINI 26 days to get on the ship and then the ship did not leave for 3 days. It totally depends on how they feel in England.

they must say.."Lets put that one in the corner and let it wait awhile."

FINALLY, some slight news: BVLGARI is now awash with silk green paint, Status #152 (Paint Shop) according to phone call to MINIUSA. Envious of others, but encouraged by some movement. Ciao.

It looks like we have some progress for the AIDA MINI's!!! WW site is showing that my MINI was ofloaded at 17:40 on the 17th and delivered at 0800 on the 20th. I assuming that the same goes for the rest of the AIDA MINI's..... OL is still showing enroute by I'm thinking that should change by tomorrow.

If we're lucky (everybody that is) they'll get us AIDA peoples out of the way so that the next load can be processed through without a delay...

Mine too! It looks like they weren't as detailed in NY as they were in Southampton, unless they pulled our cars off the boat at exactly the same time. I am not getting my hopes up that we'll see any change in the OL until next week, but that has been my experience so far. Though how can I complain about getting my car faster than the OL predicts?

I have an all-weekend charrette (design competition) from the 31st to the 2nd, so I hope my MINI is not ready before the 3rd, or My wife gets to do all the breaking in.

I say prospective MINI owners let us bow our heads in prayer to the MINI Gods of Motoring

(In the background the theme from Smokie and the Bandit plays)

Let us Motor (the assembled group bows their heads)
Oh ye great and merciful Gods of Motoring, may you see fit to open wide those pearly white doors of your heavenly Vehicle Processing Centers, so that they may quickly take in and accept our much anticipated MINIs. And may your heavenly Vehicle Processing Centers see that our much anticpated MINIs are good, say that our MINIs are good, and so our MINIs should be good. And as our MINIs should be good, let them be speedily loaded onto your noble car carriers. Let us hope for those noble car carriers to meet no traffic, and let them avoid those radar mounties, they got a long way to go and a short time to get there.... sorry got sucked up by the song there....

Vroom Vroom ( the assembled group raises their heads)

The Carmen is among the missing. Apparently the vos equipment that reports the ships weather and location is off. I also remember reading somewhere that there is a maximum number of ships that can report in at one time. Maybe the Carmen just isnt one of them?

The voluntary observing ship program is actually pretty interesting. Take a look at this link for a summary if you're bored...

Mine is showing it was offloaded at 17:40 and delivered at 0800 on the 20th too. I still don't see how it will be in St. Lou by tomorrow though. I'm saying the MINI prayer for a 1/31 delivery. Surely it can get here by then.
