I think we West Coasters are getting short changed here. Not only do we have to wait longer, we don't get any opera ships. Look at the names. The right coast is getting: Carmen, Tosca, Aida, Fidelo. What do we get? Jupiter Diamond and Hercules Leader.

Tony, you're very lucky if that happens. askMINI told me today that they couldn't tell me when my car would move off the dock and into the VPC. It could be a week, it could be a few days... And my advisor at New Country MINI said it generally takes two weeks for a car to get from the dock into the VPC and onto a truck to the dealer. I should be uptight, but in the beginning they told me delivery would be mid-February and so it seems to be!

Went through Miraflores Locks at 9:30PST yesterday. It is in the pacific now.

All February Club members will soon start getting "Club Withdrawal". You'll want to leave the Club FAST, yet you'll keep coming back to check on your compadres.

That's normal. What is really great is within a couple of weeks some early club retirees will be posting their pics, giving everyone else more sleepless nights.

It's all worth it. It really is. And, the weather's bound to get better. If you're a late February delivery you'll be all set for a great run for Spring. It's almost March, April, May.

Am really having a hard time with the wait. I got my new Whalen Shift **** yesterday and I reeeeeaaaalllyy want my MINI - to put under it....damn.

 

Updated status: ol now says my MINI is 'En-route" with an estimated delivery date of 1/31/03.

I wonder how accurate that is since the CARMEN is due to arrive in NY on the 28th.

 

Whadda ya think?... Should I take the camcorder along when we pick the MINI?

Mine was on the AIDA. According to the OL this morning, my MINI is now off the dock and in the VPC. It appears, as noted here before, that these OL postings are a day or two or more behind reality. I doubt that MINIUSA has that many resources devoted to updating customer service computer files so I'm thinking that he's on the truck or train as we speak. Regardless, my motoring advisor and I made a date for Friday noon 1/31 based on his experience with the process. Hope it works out that way ... WOOOHOOO!!

 

BTW, I got my SG Zymol auto care kit yesterday in it's silk green satin bag .. very interesting! Since I don't have a heated garage and it's -1 here lately, I'll have to wait awhile to try it out. I've learned alot about paint finishes, protection and cleaning, sun and salt, from y'all ... THANKs!! :smile:

ohmygod do you think it could be!!! I'm freakin'! I'm on the Aida, too! I was giving up on my 1/29 dealer delivery date, but it could happen! Still, I have to get the alarm installed, so I'm definitely a solid February group member. Problem is, I just had a series of critical meetings come up at work the week of the 3rd. No reason to rush things if I can't get to the dealer anyway.

 

So we went to the MINI GTG in Herndon VA today, without a MINI. Talk about a big tease, there were over 40 MINI's there! Made us want our MINI even more, but it was a great time. FYI per the manager of MINI of Sterling, expect the RS, and convertible to be announced April/May with a possible "pickup" version as well.

Anyways, we placed two signs on our truck one "Future Site of a MINI Cooper" and the other one with a picture of a CR MINI (couldn't quickly find a BRG MINI) and big bold letters that said "Have you seen this MINI? The color may have changed to avoid detection. Last seen on a pier in NY Harbor, never arrived at VPC." Thanks to our sign they let us park with the rest of the MINI's which was cool.

 

I hope I got ahead by having to have waited since mid March of 02. My order finally made it in the first week of Dec 02. When did your order go in?

Argh. I seem to be STUCK. Status 150 last Wednesday, Status 152 as of last night 1/25. I thinbk status 152 is the paint shop. I have an EB/W on order, did they run out of paint?

Anyway, I am getting very ansy (sp?). I didn't think I'd get worked up like this, but I CAN'T WAIT! Strangely I think timing will be perfect. If they ship the thing next week, I might have a car late in February (I'm in Louisville) and that means beautiful KY Springtime motoring.

Maybe I should sign of for the can't wait for March club just in case????

 

Dear Dominicminicoopers -- My order also went in during the first week of December through TATE MINI in Annapolis, Maryland. Don't want to gloat, but I didn't wait at all for the order to go in, possibly the luck of timing, possibily because I was ordering a Cooper, not a MCS.
