It's HERE!!!

So we headed to the dealership this morning to pickup our new MCS... and came home with

Sadly, I kid you not... That's a BMW 3 Series loaner courtesy of MINI of Towson, who despite knowing since January that I wanted a roof rack roof box and DIDN'T want to have to make multiple trips up to them to get stuff... Couldn't be bothered to have it in stock.

Who despite multiple requests over the past two months for prices on the accessories that I wanted (and the knowledge that I wasn't going to pay list for them) couldn't be bothered to get back to me with those very same prices until just last Thursday...

Who despite having the car since Wednesday, and making the appointment with me to pick up the car this morning... didn't have the car done... didn't even START working on the car until this very morning...

As we speak right now, there's a BMW 3 Series sitting in the parking spot in front of my house, and my MINI is on a flatbed someplace between Towson MD and Centreville VA in route to me...

not exactly shocking

Judging from some of the conversations I have had with my dealer, your situation isn't exactly shocking. Truly deplorable would be a better description. I have to say that I have bought about 13 new cars in my life and only once did I have to downgrade the dealer for their behaviour before delivery. It is a wonder some of these people stay in business.

Well it gets better... It's now 2 hours after we expected the car to be dropped off... And it's not here... Probably because it was FINALLY placed on the flatbed an hour ago...supposedly that is... Considering we originally thought it had been loaded on the truck oh...4 HOURS AGO!!!!! who knows what the truth is...

TheWrks & Rawhyde,

Have you heard any news of the Caribbean Highway? The K-Line website says it should have been in Baltimore yesterday and Charleston by tomorrow--but there is no actual for Baltimore even.
No joy from ASK MINI nor my MA--they say its "in limbo".
You guys get an update on your car or a number to track?
I'm tired of my MINI being MIA. The Resolve (which we were originally booked) is already half-way back to the UK--this tells me WW is the right shipping line and K-Line doesn't have their "stuff" together.

Follow up pics.

... Picked up late Friday afternoon. Ran around all weekend. Got 670 of my break in miles in

The car is still missing the fog light area black out panels for the Aero Kit. Still waiting on my red and black Wet Okolole seat covers. I decided as I expected that these 16" wheels will become my winter wheels. I'm shopping 17" aftermarket.

Car is a absolute blast. Even staying under 4500 rpm it really scoots. Can't imagine what it'll be like when not constrained to break in 'rules'.

Oh yeah. The silver stickers on the back of the Aero Kit gotta go too. Gonna change that to black or black screen.

Thanks!

Well, the dealer is about 35 miles away. Went and got a friend after work, not near dealer not my place, took him to dealer and stuck him in my truck. We both drove to my place, then drove him home. Next up to MD to visit Mom and Dad. Saturday down to Annapolis to DC Metro Area MINIs meeting. After that broke up went to Pennsylvania to visit all sorts of family. Gave a few uncles, aunts and cousins test drives  . Then back to VA...

Etc. Etc. Was a great weekend!

Thanks for the info on keeping track of the ship. I've been out of town for a couple of days without email and I was going nuts.

Getting closer!

The Owners Lounge now shows an expected delivery date of 29 March! These are usually fudged into the future somewhat, so I'm hoping to take delivery next weekend!

Stopped storming long enough to take some pics

Well I've finally slowed down enough from motoring to post some pics.
She was delivered to me on Saturday the 19th.

These were taken with a camera phone, so forgive the quality (or lack of)
