I am picking up my baby tomorrow. My excitement has been in check because the wife and I are in the process of buying a house too so I have a thousand things running through my head. I'm sure when I get in it tomorrow I'll be as giddy as a school girl.
Same day I get it, tomorrow, I'll be getting window tint put on and installing a new stereo. Tint may get pushed to saturday if there is a scheduling problem. We shall see.

To those of us who are still waiting, it probably won't be long now. Mine is at the VDC, so in about a week happiness!
I do enjoy seeing the photos of everyone's new MINIs. Keep posting them!
You are right. I have been too busy motoring. I finally got my last accessory today (boot mat they forgot, mailed to me).Originally Posted by sjwass

As requested, here are some photos:
Random Photos of my Mini (2 coats of Zaino)
and of my first real MINI event that I attended (I'm the one second to front
The second link looks real neat with the 5 of us in the front, all with white tops, all different colors. I had been to the metroplexmini club meeting the night before, but didn't take any pictures. Sure was neat to see 40 MINIs all in a parking lot. Gave me ideas for mods too. Me and another guy even exchanged keys for a little drive. He got to drive my MCSa, and I got to drive his JCW. He really liked the MCSa with the paddles. High praise indeed.

I think I'll be the last to get mine. It looks like the Carbbean Highway has taken a detour for 2 more days in Baltimore before it makes it to Charleston.

[QUOTE=mmatarella]Didn't see your note till now. I don't recall seeing a Yellow convert but I only had eyes for... Sorry. I did just check the pics I took and it wasn't close to mine...
Too bad you'll miss the breakfast. Just hoping mine will truly be ready Friday to take. Just talked to my M.A. and he said they won't be done with the aero kit till mid day Friday, so we're moving my delivery from Friday A.M. to late afternoon.
My Mini's delivery got pushed till the 18th, even so still on track for pick up Saterday. planning on arriving at Noon.
Love the red.

I swear they teleport these things to the dealer. Unloaded in SC on 3-14 and arrives in Kansas City 3-17, unreal! The truly sad thing is that I wasn't counting on such an early delivery and can't get there until April 1
Oh well, what is another two weeks?

I just got the call from my MA. The car is at the dealer!!! Just 67 miles away. Unfortunately, it is still 27 hours until I can get there. I am worse than a kid waiting for Christmas morning.
After several weeks of beautiful weather here it just started raining and is supposed to continue through tomorrow. I guess I'll just have to test the MINI's top down in the rain abilities. The funny thing is I hate being out in the sun on warm days. I am definitly a shade person. To me convertibles are for cool mornings and warm nights.
Other than a few rental cars I have not had a convertible in over twenty years since I was given my father's '65 TR4 when I learned to drive. Since then I have always felt that any car with a hardtop was just transportation. A true driver's car had to be a convertible. No offense to hardtop MINI owners which I actually think look better than the cabrios. I just prefer open air driving. Perhaps that is why I have a garage full of motorcycles.
Well, I guess I'll quit rambling now. But if you already have yours, you know what I'm going through.

I think his car has black stripes.
I love how they leave the car park right in front of the main entrance when you come pick it up.

That must be new, used to be that you car would be waiting for you over in the Service Tunnel with a bow on the hood. (Be careful there are uncovered magnets on the bottom of that bow!). The MA would give you the "tour" of your MINI there, and then you take it out...Originally Posted by VoiD

Since it was the first manual we owned, I was concerned about A)Stalling the car as I pulled it out and B)Sideswiping the garage door on the way out!

My car is sitting, ready to be picked up at the dealer (Dreyer & Reinbold). However, my MA told me that they don't do Friday or Saturday deliveries due to customer volume. Since I have a cosigner on my loan, we both have to be present at vehicle pickup, and the only time that we're both available is every other weekend. Is this a common policy at MINI dealers? It's quite frustrating as I have no idea when I'll be able to pick up my car.

Well, I never heard of a MINI dealer whose policy is not to make deliveries Fridays or Saturdays. That's pretty screwed up customer service if you ask me
. Most people typically pick-up their new cars on weekends when they have plenty of time to enjoy the experience.
If I were in your shoes, I would call up your MA right away and tell them that if thier policy is not to deliver cars on weekends, then you'll take your business elsewhere. Watch and see how quickly they will change their "policy" to avoid losing a sale.
You are the customer and you are in control, not the other way around.

That is totally ridiculus! You are coming in to give them money for a car but they are giving priority to a bunch of people just looking around? I would take my money somewhere else. You are spending a lot of hard earned money to buy a car from them. You should be treated a lot better than that.
Besides, though I am not a car salesman, I would think that having happy customers coming in to pick up there beautiful new cars would be a good environment to have prospective buyers in.
Countdown to getting mine: 21 hours, 13 minutes

I am sitting in the Tampa airport RIGHT NOW, waiting to fly to Lauderdale so I can pick up my car early tomorrow at 9:30. ALL FLIGHTS ARE ON AN HOUR HOLD BECAUSE OF AIR TRAFFIC IN LAUDERDALE.
Now, I know I have 24 hours to get down there...but I'm so close I can almost taste it...
BTW, anyone ever notice how the Southwest Airlines logo looks like the Mini logo? This is making me yearn more.
