Booked on the RESOLVE!!!! Car has been at port since Feb 25th so it must have finished early. My MINI wanted to get out of the birth canal quickly I'm picking up at Classic MINI and according to the booking it is going to go through SC. Do you think i'll have my car by March 25th? I am flying down for a wedding in Cincinnati on that March 25th weekend and it looks as if there may be a possibility that I could fly down a little early and pick it up then. So what do the MINI mathematicians think? I need to start looking for flights.

Tight but possible ... arrival in Charleston scheduled for the 17th; may slip a day or so but that gives about a week to get processed, delivered to dealership and prepped for your pickup.
Speak to the dealer and start "encouraging" them if your plan

MINI of Towson

Unfortunately I couldn't find the pictures from after the big storm, so here is one from early on... Only about 6 to 8 inches in these pictures. Notice the temp tags, we only had the car for 2 weeks at the time!

Sterling is where my first one came from... Had been planning on getting this one from them as well, but Jim Bartanowicz just irritates the heck out of me.

Strange goings on

My VIN disappeared from the WW website Friday, then reappeared last night booked on the Resolve, now it has disappeared again. I see there are several MINI's built in early Feb. that still haven't left port. Strange indeed.

Mid-late March deliv's at Sterling VA

Hmm. Well my MA at Sterling replied that the car would indeed be unloaded at the NY-NJ depot. He said 1-3 days there, then 1-3 days at the dealer... ( I got the full aero, aux audi and bonnet stripes they need to install) Sounds pretty fast to me! I've seen stories on here of a week or two at the port VDC...

Trying to decide whether to cancel the dealer stipes. I've noted a lot of the aftermarket ones go down the whole front of the car, not just the hood. And also on the tail. Trying to decide if that'd look better.

Many thanks to all that have supplied the links to gather the pertinent information in a flash.

... on the Terrier

Sterling Virginia...

I see a arrive and depart day in England of the 5th, this Saturday. Was showing the 4th Friday till yesterday on the WW site.

Where are some folks in this forum seeing the 2nd...?

(EDIT- Jeez, it's moved again now back to the 6th in and out of Southampton, with into NY on the 14th. Further and further she slips)

Very strange indeed. Might be time to rough up your MA to get some information out of them.

Nice accomodations for a Carribean cruise! Do the MINIs get to use the gymnasium, pool, and sauna?

Still no ocean reports from the Madame Butterfly. Weather must be really good along the way!

I misread the page, it's actually the 5th.

As for time at the VDC, it should go fast. Of course I say this when our Cooper sat on the pier for almost 2 weeks before being moved to the VDC (Jan 03), but cleared the VDC in 24 hours... There are a lot of factors once it's offloaded. If there's no backlog, paperwork problems, or damage, the car could be through the VDC and on a truck in 36 hours, in Sterling in 48 hours after offloading from the ship... But if there's a yes to any of those, then all bets are off...

The Cooper arrived at Sterling the day the OL said it was at the VDC, and the day after ASKMINI said it had finally made it into the VDC. Honestly the 2 weeks between the time the car had been offloaded and actually arrived at the dealer was the worst! Mainly because nobody knew when the car might actually reach the VDC.

If you mailed in your check it should be on it's way, I know a batch just went out about a day or so ago.

WW ain't the only carrier

According to WW's site, my car will be on the Resolve.

BUT

According to the guy at ASK-MINI, some cars will be shipped on K-Line. Some BMW's and MINI's go via this carrier instead of WW.

Still showing the Resolve but have been given (* Cargo is in Wait list Status), probably as there are quite a few MINI that have been sitting at the dock for a week or more. so the wait continues

Yup, I'll be sure to sign up in the next day or so. I went to the breakfast at Tate MINI a couple weeks ago and seemed like a great group.

I'm also signed up for the Dragon! Gonna get me a big MINI fix (pardon the Oxymoron) right off the bat!

Other carrier

There must be another carrier. ASK MINI finally updated and says my MINI is "in transit" but still no info on WW site. So Zippy is now somewhere at sea! Maybe my March delivery date is intact after all.
