Click this link for a pic when it was still named TANABATA

TANABATA Call sign is WCZ5535
RESOLVE Call sign is also WCZ5535

For a MINI Update: According to the automated phone system, my MCS is complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier.

The next WW ship making the Southampton to Charleston run is the RESOLVE. The RESOLVE departs on 4 March and arrives in Charleston on 17 March.

So, who else will probably be on the RESOLVE?

The next ship (if we miss the RESOLVE) will be the Liberty (formerly the FAUST) I think the call sign is WRYX. I hanen't found a picture of it yet.

I hope we are both on the Resolve and anyone else who is as fanatical as us.

Ditto for GBMINI#3 - I think the discharge time is about the same for all the cars, presumably when someone sat down at a computer and "discharged" all the cars, after unloading
Who cares - MINI USA OL estimates March 3 at MINI Peabody

MrV - thanks for another auto update; sorry to hear about your (little) problems. Glad they will all soon be sorted.
Auto "agitronic" mode (drive/manual); the booklet says "if the car does not detect ANY ACCELERATION or gear change within a short interval of time, it switches back to normal D mode"
So just keep driving it hard when you click the switch

I really would like to know how the Madame Butterfly is progressing, is there any other site that might have info? Sailwx.com says no position reports as of yet.

Ah..... I guess I should read the manual.

Actually, I thought I would make .pdf files of the new parts of the 2005 manual, since they don't seem to be anywhere online. That is unless anybody here has seen them.

I also have not seen the manual for the HK system online anywhere. Though I find that hard to believe since it isn't exactly new. I could make pdfs of that too.

I've finally got a reason to join this thread! My MCSC is on the Madame Butterfly and scheduled for a 3/6/05 arrival in NY. I got my prod.# on 1/20, after test driving in mid Dec. and about 2 weeks ago my VIN# was posted. I immediately started calling around for the best insurance rates. The Owner's lounge was my basic source of tracking info and I have to say the whole process has moved right along without any real lull. I requested an end of April delivery for the entrance of spring. My dealer notified me that it looked like my car was already in production and would be here early! Cool.. possibly a mid-March delivery..I live in the White Mts. in NH and I ordered the hi-performance tires. Now I'm hoping we don't get much snow!! I do have the LSD and Cold Weather Pkg. The plan is to get 4 rims and snows to change-out for winter.
Thanks for the help finding my car AND those are great pictures Fidge!!
I have ordered a Liquid Yellow/Blk. Ragtop/Blk. Leather/Blk. Racing stripes/Checkered mirror backs/Cockpit Chrono Pack. No pictures. I don't have a digital camera, still using the old Nikon F2.
I'm getting a vanity liscence plate, a Dutch phrase:
RIJ BLIJ = "Drive Happy". This is my Dutch wife's contribution.

Congratulations Cliffb. Great spec on your MCSC. Just to clarify, the Madame Butterfly is due to arrive in New York on 03/04/05 and Baltimore on 03/06/05 Still has not reported any positions so can't get an idea of its progress yet
BTW, What pics are u talking about?

I did not know an HK manual existed! I don't think GBMINI#2 came with one. Or maybe I just never read it

BTW, if you do scan the pages & need some hosting/storage space, give me a shout.

Thanks for the update on the Madame butterfly itinerary Fidge. I'll call my MINI of Peabody dealer tomorrow and ask for specific arrival dates. Anything useful I'll be sure to post.

Cliff,
Congrats on the car and on the dealership
GBMINI#3 landed on US soil yesterday and should be at MoP by the end of the week - with luck yours will be there the following week.
Come and say "Hi" to the New England guys over on MINI2 - if not too overwhelming

Be sure to read all the HK info "out there" if you haven't; I have a summary in my weblog with links to the various good info on the web; this one is generally considered to be the very best HK discussion.

So I've decided to keep quiet about this long enough... and we'll see just how many people notice this...

MINI number 2 is awaiting transport to Southampton, it will replace the MINIvan, a 2003 BRG/BRG Cooper with just about everything but leather and the PDC... Sitting in the holding lots outside the plant in Oxford is a HB/W w/white stripes MCS with everything but NAV, PDC, Chrono Pack, and leather seats. Heck we even sprung for the web spoke wheels!

The VIN isn't up on the W&W site, I'm assuming that will happen tomorrow. If this works like our last car, it'll be on the W&W site Monday morning and loaded on the ship Monday afternoon...

I've manged to control the insanity that I went through the first time around. I didn't go checking the OL and calling MINIUSA daily once the car went into production like I did last time... But now that production is complete, the excitement is building.... again!

BTW Ian, we got a manual for our HK with our Cooper back in '03. The manual sucked but we did get one...

Congratulations
So you are replacing two vehicles with one?

Interestingly, I think I have been worse this time with regard to online tracking, etc - probably because of the "need" to report on gbmini.net

I will hopefully be in it. My car is also complete and waiting to be released to the carrier. Almost here!

Nevermind, I'm in NM, my ship will probably go to the West Coast. It'll probably be another month.

Nope, the Cooper has always been the MINIvan, we put our deposit down on that car a month before we got pregnant... So all our friends asked us if we were disappointed to have to cancel the MINI order to get a minivan... At which point the Cooper was christened with the name MINIvan! We'll carry that over to the MCS .

Doug,

The whole 2005 manual that is available online (as far as I know) is the "old" 2005 manual. It does not include the pages that I uploaded to Ian's site.

You can download the "old" 2005 manual from motoringfile.com. I did it today just to make sure that it had not been updated to the January build details.

And you say *I* can't keep a secret?

Now, does anyone have any MINI Valium I can give this boy -- he's driving me nuts.

Booked for March 2nd transport

I guess mine is one the last feb. production.
It finished production on the 28th and is booked to be loaded on the "terrier" on 2nd of march.
Can't wait for the car to be here.
