Also the Mini OL for me has always been several days behind the times as far as reporting my cars status..... Should I be getting excited that my car might be closer than I expect?
Go to the Wallenius site and click on 'cargo tracking' and then 'booking number'.

Enter GBSOU292811 for the booking number (I got that from my tracking of my VIN).

This will display all the vin numbers (cargo id), and the time it was loaded on the Resolve. If it is on the Resolve right now, it will be listed. Mine was loaded at 16:07.

yeah, i have a few pictures of my ghia. go to www.cardomain.com/id/73karmannghia. the car is actually for sale as we speak, the car is going to pay for my cooper funny, i have to pick the car up nect week and the ghia isnt out of the paint shop i'm sure i'll feel it later in my 400 a month payment lol if anyone is interested, the karmann ghia at the website above is for sale for the sum of 11,500 UDS. its an all original metal car, showing 56k miles, second paintjob, new motor, clutch, interior, tires, and many other parts. the car is CHERRY! perfect for the aircooled nut in you. its a joy to drive, i wish i didnt have to sell it. but, i havent seen the car literally since last june. the "people" at the body shop have been putting me off,but it should be fully done within the next few weeks. i'll post some pics up here when its all done.

Nice Ghia. Will you get $11,500 up there in OH? Down here in Texas you wouldn't be able to get that, even for a rust free car in your condition.

I had a friend who had a #1 show winner, 100% original ghia, a real trailer queen, that he couldn't sell for $10,000 here in Texas. He ended up listing it nationally and getting $10,500 (if memory serves).

One guy called him up and asked "What kinda stereo you got in it?" He hung up on him.

Another guy called and said that he would meet him at DFW airport and drive it back to Tennessee. My friend told him "No you won't". The guy asked "Why do you care, it won't be your car then?". He replied "Yeah, but it's my car now, and it's never going to be yours".

He ended up selling it to the president of some VW club somewhere out east, who drove here with a flatbed and towed it back to his garage.

Funny how we get attached to our cars, isn't it.

well, if you can find a rust free car in ohio, its like the crown jewels lol. we dont have rust free cars here. mine was in a garage in michigan for 25 years before i found it. the guy was restoring a vette and needed the money. so i put about 6000 into it and its like a new car. runs like new, looks like new, handles like new (for 73 at least hehe) 11,500 is a bit hopefull, but i think the car is in nice enough condition to get that, compared to some fo the crap VW's ive seen here. they are botced up and bondoes and they can still get 7 or 8 grand depending on the car.

GBMINI#3 is built and ready for transportation

Considering the order was placed just 15 days ago, I think that is very impressive.

Update:Tracking Problem?

All,

For what its worth.... I logged into the WW shipping site and did a check on my vin this morning, and the site now lists my car as wait listed for the Tanched leaving today and due into Charlestown on 3/2/05. As it turns out my MA called me this morning about a different item, and he claims my car is due in on 2/25/05. It would seem that Mini is using another car carrier in addition to WW. In researching out there.. it looks as if K-line shipping runs auto transports out of Southhampton to the East coast of US and it seems as if the " Emden " is due in about this time frame, and would line up with the departure time as well. Anyone else have any ideas?

HELLO PARTY PEOPLE!

The OL kept saying "scheduled for production" but I just found out from 1-866-ASK-MINI that my car is in production and scheduled to be complete February 21st! I am hoping to have it by the end of March now instead of early April.

My MA says that our car is due at the Pt. Hueneme Vehicle Delivery Center on Monday, 7 March. So I presume, even though we can't track the VIN numbers, that our car is on the Carmen, which is due to dock at Pt. Hueneme on Friday, 4 March.

The Carmen (call sign S6IW) is today 150 miles N. of the Azores, 1300 miles from Southampton. 4000 miles more to the Panama Canal. Then 3700 miles in the Pacific to Pt. Hueneme.

Position information here.

Cheers,
Dave[size=3]

Awesome! It only take like a week to build one I think, maybe less. Mine will be completed a couple days before yours starts but they could still easily be on the same transport. We'll have to keep an eye on it. But with you being in Nebraska I bet mine gets to me first!

Edited for wrong week

To Passat and sjwass:

What week did they tell you your car was going to be built when you ordered? They told me week 8. I talked to someone at ASK MINI a couple of weeks ago and they said it should go into production by the end of that week. I'm hoping you guys are week 7 which would mean I would hear something real soon. It would be even better if you guys are Week 7, cause there would be a CR/B MCS coming up your tail.

Well my dealer didn't tell me squat. I called ASK MINI and they told me my car is currently in production right now and will be finished on the 21st.

Now if your week #'s correspond to weeks in the year then Week 11 is March 13-19.

Call ASK MINI again and use the automated system with your order number to see what the current status is.

Ooops, I meant Week 8 they told me. Originally I was going to be 11, but the dealer switched it for me.
