YES! That's AWESOME! I can't wait to see GBMINI#3 (and all of the cool things you're going to do to it ).

Congrats Ian.

BTW, my car is due into P.H. on the 13th I believe. I can't wait...

Not so much this time around - or not so much planned anyway!
But you know how MINIs encourage fanaticism

I don't think that "owe" is the correct word here (as it's really me who owes you). Although yes, I still like to get that special circuit from you if possible. I'll need to get another MINI circuit as well for the new car (as the other one is going in the wife's car this time around). However, I just need a regular/plain auto-up circuit this time as I got the convenience package and so the new car will already have a garage door opener in it from the factory.

how do you know there are only 15 mini's on there? i show 95 - although many of them only show as "received at terminal" instead of "loaded on vessel"

hmmm...

I did another search on the booking information for the vessel, and it lists the VIN's of the Mini's that are loaded. The rest disappeared. I think that's where you went. Back to the dock.

How do you get the booking number? WW still shows no info on my VIN, but I'm curious to know if you got the booking number from your MA or elsewhere (I consistently seem to know more about the status of my vehicle than my MA, he called me a week after it was built to tell me it had been built and I was able to tell him it was already at the port and waiting on a vessel and which vessel that was most likely to be).

anyone being shipped on the AEGEAN LEADER ?

departing southampton next week on the 15th and arriving in new york on the 23rd. ww shows me as scheduled for voyage #EA506-AEL in waitlist status. apparently waitlist status gives you priority if you were bumped off another boat. i seemed to have been booked on yesterday's boat but just barely missed it.

anyone coming with me? ; )

cheers - drew

I got my booking number from the WW site. If you aren't on a WW ship, you won't know your booking number.

Schwing!

Ask MINI updated Zippy's estimated production date of 2-23-05! No ghost in the machine after all. Soon I will be plotting it's course across the Atlantic like all the other MINI-obsessed owners on this thread.

Hooray!

Does anybody on the West Coast know if their car made it onto the Carmen? ASKMINI says my car is now in transit but when I put my VIN into the WW tracking site it comes up with no information.

We are "in the same boat" so to speak. Our car finished production on the 7th and was transported to Southhampton. I hope it gets on the Carmen bound for Pt. Hueneme but don't know how to find out. No info on our VIN with WW. WW said the Carmen leaves on 13 Feb., Sunday. It would be great if both of our cars made it aboard!

Otherwise we have to wait for the MAERSK WAVE on the 18th.

Dave,

I have read in the January build thread that many cars coming to the West Coast do not come on WW ships at all. There are two other shipping companies. (K-line and something else) These are much more difficult to track. I think the only way to find out if you are on one of these ships is to talk to your MA.

Either way our cars are coming finally.

Kris

has Tosca left Southhampton already?

My MA is not responding, and the ASKMINI system is telling me that my car is still waiting for transport. However, when I track it on the WW site it shows that my car has already been loaded on Tosca, which should have left Southhampton on the 9th according to WW schedule.

However, when I checked the Southhampton port website, it doesn't show any departure for Tosca, only Don Quijote which left on the 10th. The sailing website and oceanweather website provided by Jan build thread don't show Tosca's location either, again only the Don.

Does anyone know where else can I check Tosca's whereabout?

Thanks!

I can't believe out of 150 minis on the Tosca I am the only one sailing now. I feel sad that my car has no "friends" with him. Oh well.

The days are going soooo slow! But that will all be fixed, the weather is starting to turn and will be ready for the top down.

My car changed to scheduled for production sometime this weekend. I just called the Ask-Mini phone number and the system says it would be finished by February 23rd.

It finally just sunk in that I am really getting one and need to started cleaning up my Ford Escape and get that sold. I can't deal with 2 car payments for more then a few months.

I eBayed more then half of my old computer things to pay off the credit card I put the $2,000 down on to place the order. During my month of eBay my girlfriend came in an was like, the garage door won't open. I walk outside and find the garage door hanging from the opener arm. It had fallen off the tracks and bent one of the arms bad. I decided to get some insulated doors and put then in myself so save some money. Tax return is also paying off a couple more things and my girlfriend gave my $900 of hers to help out.

So the dealer told me May 15th. That sounds a little long now. Even if it took a month to get on a boat and a month to get to the dealer that still puts the car here 2 to 3 weeks early. What do you guys think.

I think you should show that girlfriend of yours a Monty Python movie. If she laughs during it, marry her.

We both wanted Minis since I first saw one on the road in 2002. She didn't really know what I was talking about until we went and saw the Italian Job. Until then she wanted an Eclipse. A year later the Mini dealer opened here in Albuquerque so we picked one up from the floor. I got to drive it for the first week (she couldn't drive stick) and there was no way I could give it back to her but I had to. I placed my order a week later so I could get the limited slip. She trades me cars every other week so I get to drive the Mini a lot while I wait for mine.

I'll have to try the Monty Python movie and see what she thinks.

Yup. Resolve must be getting into Charleston early, since it is leaving the same day.

I am hoping that the cars (well, MINE at least ) won't get stuck at the VPC for long. Motoring be the middle of next week would be a good thing.
