It takes 7 days for production. MrV what city are you in? Do you think we will make it on the ship leaving on 2/5?

Just checked AskMini. Our EB/W MCS is scheduled for production, estimated completion date 7 Feb.! Hope it gets on the first ship to California after that date...

Mine started production on the 24th, and was done this morning (I know, cause I check last night before bed), so 7-8 days sounds about right with the time zone change and all. I think I remember hearing that Oxford was running extra hours and bringing in more shifts of workers to meet demand.

I live in the Dallas / Ft. Worth Area. I'm lucky, cause I have 2 dealers within about 35 minutes of me, though I definately have a preference between the two.

SWEET!!! I am booked on the RESOLVE!! My car lands at Charleston on the 17th!

So stoked I can hardly stand it.

Just found out today that I should be done on 2/5. Didn't know they worked on Saturday! I sure hope it isn't the replacement crew

Got to start looking into the ships. The pressure is on now.

Hammond is being born.

Yup.

Go to the WW website.
Click on cargo tracking.
Click on Auto Cargo.
Enter your VIN.

Pretty easy. There is even a summary like this:

RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 02/02/2005 20:31 READY TO SCAN AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 02/02/2005 19:17 BOOKED SOUTHAMPTON 06/01/2005 17:52

As an additional note for anybody else who gets on the RESOLVE: I believe that the callsign for the ship is: WCZ5535

As noted in the January tracking thread, you can track the ship in the ocean by going to this site:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml

Then go to "Plot position of ship with call sign" at the bottom of the page and you can see the last time the ship reported their position.

I might be parked next to you...Resolve for me too! Exactly 2 weeks from today it'll be in Charleston. I wonder what the turnaround time in VDC is running right now.

I ordered my LY MCS 05 back on New Year's eve and was told not to expect delivery until mid March at the earlierst. My motoring advisor called yesterday with my production numbers. I logged into the owners lounge this morning only to find out that my car is built and waiting on Southampton dock. If my schedule estimating is correct I may be motoring by the end of the month. (a full month early) She'll come over on the Resolve and arrive in SC Feb. 17. That's my daughter's birthday. Conincidence? I don't think so.

So, it looks like I should be joining another "can't wait for" thread - except that is not what they are called any more!

Anyway, order placed yesterday and should be built by the end of the month (it helps to be friendly with the dealership ) ...
So welcome to GBMINI#3:

Welcome Ian! I have been reading your blog for a while now. (This is my first MCS, but I decided to buy one last July. I was waiting for the auto like you are getting).

Well this is my first post. My Cooper S has been loaded on to the Resolve today, as many others have too. I ordered mine in mid January, the 11th to be exact. However, I have been waiting for 2 years to be able to afford to get it. My factory options include:
Outside Color: Liquid Yellow, with Black Roof
Upholstery: Space Gray/Panther Black Cloth
Anthracite Interior Surface
Anthracite Headliner
Sports Package, with Performance runflats, and Black Stripes
Cold Weather Package
Convenience Package
Multi-function Steering Wheel
Limited Slip Differential
Automatic Air Conditioning
Navigation System, with Onboard Computer
Harman-Kardon Sound System
Rear Fog Lamps
My Dealer Installed Options will be:
Aero Kit
Aux Audio Input
iPod Adapter, you can have both!!
Rubber Mats.

I can't wait till it gets here. I plan on adding a few other things later on.

Congrats on being loaded onto the boat!

I too will be getting an 05 LY later this month - week 3 build is what I was told.

Mine was loaded on the Resolve today too. Below is a picture from the port in Southampton's live webcam at that time!

Well, I found the webcam but I am not sure that the dock pictured is where our cars are loaded from ...

This page says "berth 35" is used for loading cars - there is even a pic there that looks a lot like MINIs - but who knows if the webcam is looking at berth 35 ...

Man aren't we obsessed! I know that the Resolve loaded on berth 34/35. I'm not 100% sure, but my best guess is that is located on the left side of the picture actually behind where the large ship is on your post. If you look back on the one on my last post you can see several lights on the ship in the background. Below is a picture from earlier in the day where you can see the ship more clearly.

Check this site out:

http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/index.asp

I was able to track the arrival of the Resolve as well as its departure time (Yesterday at 11:00 pm London time). You can also watch it navigate into Southampton by the live radar link (it goes off the radar at the Southampton dock). There is a rough port map of Southampton dock as well. Enjoy!

If you are on NAM, MINI2, have your own website and are ordering your third MINI - is there any question

Thanks for the docks links & info.

I was supposed to be done on the 5th and I was completed the 3rd or 4th. Depends how up to date the ask-mini line is.

I am schedule to be on the Tosca leaving SH on the 8th. Arrive in NY (Newark) on the 16th, and Baltimore on the 18th. Since I am in DC I am thinking Baltimore but I am not sure if Mini's go into Baltimore.

So hopefully by President's day we will be driving in the new car!

Just called Ask Mini on our MCS and it is "in the paint shop", est. completion date on 7 Feb. (tomorrow). Should a VIN be available for our car by now?

How often do the ships leave for the west coast, US?

Cheers,
Dave
