R50/53 Official 2005 February Build Thread
Mine is on the Tosca, loaded and rolling!
Some how it went from leaving on the 8th to the 10th, and still gets into NY on the 16th. I am not sure how it can make up two days. We will see if it gets in as scheduled. Not bad for a boat built in 1978 if it does do it 2 days quicker.

It took mine 4 days to make it from completion of production to loading on the vessel. I would bet you will make it onto AGEAN LEADER leaving on the 15th with arrival on the 23rd in New York where you live. Then somewhere between 2-10 days from there to your dealer. If you're real lucky you'll be motoring in about two weeks (the 25th).

mac only baby! ; )
i took your advice and fired up my old dusty copy of ie (it's been a while!) and got through to ww. i show as "received at terminal".
what's weird though is that my voyage info shows me on the don quijote which departed today! is this possible?
hmmm...

My MCSA has been awaiting a vessel at the port for over a week now according to the automated voice at Mini USA. It "missed the boat" literally by about a day and hopefully will be on the Carmen on the 13th on its way to the West coast. The anticipation is killing me.
Can ayone verify if you must enter your entire VIN to track auto cargo or just the last 7 digits? Searching the forums I've read mixed responses.
Thanks

The next update when you plug in the VIN should say "loaded on vessel". Another way to check for sure is to look up by booking number--that will give you every vehicle on that ship and next to each it should say loaded on vessel with the exact time that happened. If you see your VIN listed on the Don Quijote booking number then I would say its on its way.

who wants to figure this one out? ; )
perhaps at sea, perhaps still waiting - drew
I tend to be an optimist so I would say you are most likely on "The Don" if you are listed by the booking number as on there.
There were stars next to several others when mine was due to get loaded. I'm not sure what they mean. It appeared to me that the vehicles that had arrived a few days before mine had stars listed next to them. I thought this might mean they got priority to get on if space got tight, but mine still got on anyway.
Your MA might be able to help sort out what ship you are on.

man i hope you're right! it would be a very good sign, seeing as the boat would land in new york on my birthday ; )

Maybe I need a March build thread
Really not sure what is going on. Neither is my MA. MINI USA initially said Feb. build date, but my MA said March today, then she e-mailed me back and said the computer still showed Feb. build but the computer wouldn't update. Who knows maybe there is a ghost in the MINI machine. Guess I just get to sit back and wait.
P.S. Can't believe the tenacity of this build thread, you people (and myself included) really need to get some real lives!

Where from? What specs?

Joining the tracking madness here...
According to AskMINI my expected completion date is Feb. 17. I'm crossing all my fingers and toes that Daisy's done a day or two before so she can hopefully squeeze onto the Tancred on the 17th. Otherwise it's an extra 5 day wait for the Jingu Maru on the 22nd.

nycitymini--i'm on the same boat as you, the Don Quijote! I was going to be on the Tosca, but got bumped and luckily there was the DQ, departing just a day later!
there are only 15 Minis on the DQ, so I'm imagining they're all huddled together, and wondering what their new homes are going to be like!

Where do the boats stop that are going to the east coast? Until I read this, I thought that all the cars had to go through South Carolina. I'm wondering why my vehicle that is coming to Michigan would go there rather than NY also. Any insight?
