Wow! Your message prompted me to call. Looks like my Feb build date has been moved up with an estimated completion date of Feb 1!!!! Guess I better get my butt in gear and sell the Volvo quicker than I expected (anyone interested in a Volvo C70?!? ).

MCSA here you come!!!

Don't believe the automated systems

Bitter: My Bug would not start AGAIN. Man that engine must take almost no juice from the battery to start it, because it gives you no warning that the battery is dying. One minute it starts like a champ, no problems, 5 minutes later (after getting gas) there is ZERO power from the battery (it jump starts though). Time for another trip to the experts (who have already looked at this problem once before). 34 year old electrical systems are a B1tch!!

Just to rub it in: I'm on the phone at the gas station, to get my better half to come and give me a jump (cables are standard equipment after all these years for my car) a Mini drives by. I think it was laughing at me.

SWEET: My MCS began production TODAY! It will be "born" on February 3rd.

You really can't believe the automated systems. The Owner's lounge says that I am "On Order". The automated voice on ASK-MINI says that I am
"scheduled for production, with no confirmed production date".

I can hardly contain my excitement.

Yippee!!

Although the MINIUSA web site still lists our MCS as ON ORDER, I called AskMini today and they stated the status is Scheduled for Production, and projected to be built on week 6. The order went in on Dec. 23. PROGRESS at last!

Its been a week since the last post. Any new news...anyone???

Mine still says February 2nd completion date. My angst over the long wait prompted me to take a trip to the MINI dealer this week to get in another test drive of a MCSC! It is definately worth the wait. Don't tell MINI this, but as far as I'm concerned they could probably get away with charging even more for the car and still sell a ton of 'em. What a blast!

I have also been wanting to go for another test drive. But there are no dealers that are very close to me. The wait is killing me.

Everytime I have to drive anywhere I search for MINI's. I have been surprised that I have only seen two convertibles so far. I suppose more will start showing up around summer time.
Only two more days until it's done! Then it is the long wait while my car goes on it's Panama Cruise.

The automated response at 1-866-ASKMINI seems to have more up to date info than the web site. I'm in the body shop now scheduled for completion tomorrow! Then it's off to the Panama Canal!! Woohoo!!!!

Looks like we will both be on the same ship. Now we can start obsessing over shipping schedules and such like everyone in the January build thread.

What model did you order?

Boy do I feel stupid.

I was looking at the dates of ships leaving Southhampton and going to Charleston and the the closest one after my build completion date was 03/02/2005.

"What!!" I thought, "I have to wait until March 2 for my car to even leave England!"

Then I took a closer look at the dates and realised that those dates are done ala European (Day first, month second, year last).

What's really sad is that I grew up in England.

Anyone know how long it takes for the cars to typically get on a ship after leaving the factory ? Can I hope to get on the Resolve (2 days after build completion date) ?

Another Feb. build here (specs in my sig). My MA told me today that Daisy is scheduled for build the 3rd week of the month. When I called ASKMINI it said no 'scheduled date for production.'

Extremely Happy for those of you in production or completed. But also Insanely Jealous!!!

Cheers,

Don't worry about what ASKMINI says. They said the same thing on mine until all of a sudden on the 24th it said it would be finished by Feb 2nd. A very pleasant surprise to say the least.

I went to the WW website and clicked on "Schedules", choose your countries (UK and USA) then choose your ports and enter a beginning date.

You may want to run through the posts in the January build thread. There is all kinds of information there on finding out what ship your car is on, tracking it across the ocean, when it will be arriving, etc.

I'm in the paint shop too!!! Completion is tomorrow. Best I can tell, the first ship to leave Southampton is on 2/5 and arrives on 2/18. How long from VDC to my dealer in Nashville do you think?

Mine will be coming to the West Coast. My status is awaiting transportation. Unless it makes it on the boat today, it looks like it's not going to leave Southampton until the 13th of Feb. Funny thing is, the difference in arrival days here in Port Hueneme is only 5 days (2/28 vs 3/5). I'm in LA so it shouldn't take long to get to the dealer.

Giddy with excitement...

It's finished a day early!!! I sure wish there was a ship coming to Port Hueneme before the Carmen which does not leave until the 12th. Oh well, it is still about 3 weeks ahead of what I had originally hoped for.

I received this email from my MA this evening:

"Your MINI has been scheduled for production this month. When I get the actual date I'll will contact you again."

Won't she be surprised to find out that it finished production today? Guess she has not been anxiously calling ASKMINI everyday like I have.
