Just checked online and it finally does state that my Mini is at the Distribution Center and that the estimated delivery date is 2/23/05, which is this Wednesday!! However they will have to install the body kit when it arrives.

 

I have been totally unsuccessful trying to find the Tancred (LAXL4); the web site takes ages to process; if it does not fail and if I don't abort after five minutes, I have once or twice got to "no position reports received for callsign LAXL4"
Also can't find it on the MINI2 suggested oceanweather site - never managed to find the Carmen back in 2003 either.
I guess I should just be happy that it is on the ocean, somewhere :smile:

Well, I'm not sure what to make of this...

online has updated my info to at the VDC, and changed my delivery date from 2/26 to 2/19--yesterday! Huh?!?!

 

They do deliver on Saturdays ... maybe you should call the dealership

 

Hey Cooper4us, my mcs is scheduled to be built this week also. I called ask-mini and the automated system stated it is scheduled for completion on 02/25.

 

yeah, my delivery date changed too, but only 2 days... went from 24th to the 22nd hey, 2 less day to wait!!!

 

I'm week 8 also. ASK MINI says 2/28 for me. I'm encouraged that dates are moving up. Hard to not keep thinking about it. I'm calling ASK MINI twice a day now. Got to go, about time to call them.

 

so now the mol has posted an expected delivery date of 2/26 - or next saturday! can anyone who's picked up a car recently tell me how mayn days it was between the mol date and when they ACTUALLY got their cars?

I think it depends on the dealer options that you are having installed and how backed up the dealer is. Someone (here I think) is getting their car the day it is delivered to the dealer. I am getting mine 2 days after delivery (being delivered to the dealer on the 23rd - I'm getting it on the 25th), but someone on another board that is on the same boat as me, from the same dealer, is going to have to wait a little longer (he's getting the JCW kit installed).

I haven't seen you for a while!

I'm supposed to have a week 8 build. Completion date of Feb 28 according to ASK MINI. I don't have a VIN number yet. It looks like NEWYORKCITYMINI got his car well ahead of us. I thought the three of us ordered at the same time.

As I posted in another thread, the wait does have an effect. I have mostly gotten over my anxiety of having spent so much money. (I don't trade cars often, nor do I buy big-ticket items often) I've bought some White Mirror Caps, some UJ Mirror Caps, and Ian's Auto-Up Circuit (Thanks Ian!). I just need to get my roof flag ordered from Cooperflags this week. Now, I'm 97% sure I'm going to get the JCW added as well.

If assembly is complete by Feb 28, any educated guesses (you're a MA aren't you?) as to when it'll be delivered to the dealer in Atlanta? My guess is that I'll be in the 1st or 2nd week of April.

Our cars may be shipmates.

Yeah, I'm week 8 too! ASK MINI still saying Feb. 23. Will have to start checking shipping schedules. I guess I might as well dive all the way into the crazy pool. The only thing is that I will be traveling in early March and will probably not have computer access-that is going to absolutely kill me!

I just found out my MCS has already been built and it is awaiting transport!!!!!!

So, my car was built one week ahead of schedule!!! I am officially a week #7 build.

I can't believe it! I will be motoring again on a new MCS in just a couple of weeks.

I am not a MA (I wish I was) but my prediction would be your new MINI will be in Atlanta in a couple of weeks after it is finished.

According to the WW site, he was "received at terminal" on 2/18. This is good news for many of you who are still awaiting build completion, since it was at least 3 days ahead of schedule.

Based on info provided above, the Madame Butterfly is due to leave SH on 2/24 and due arrive in Charleston on 3/9. I'm hoping it arrives safely at Hendrick MINI in Charlotte by 3/18 and the Aero Kit install is completed with the car ready for delivery by 3/28. Am I being too optimistic?

And can someone tell me how to get the call sign for the Madame Butterfly so I can track the progress?

Edit: I guess you actually talked to a Rep at ask Mini...

 

The ASK MINI automated system said it was in the Paint Shop, which must be the final stage. My baby is scheduled to be finished today.

 

My baby is booked on the Madame Butterfly and looks to make the trip across the pond soon. Should be leaving Southampton on the 24th and arrive in Charleston March 9th. I should have my baby by the 18th I'm thinking! WOOHAA!

 

You lucky dog. If I read the schedules right, that is the last ship bound for the east coast until 3/3. The 3/3 ship won't arrive in Charleston until 3/16. I think my MINI will be done 2/26-28 roughly. It will be a long painful wait. You'll have to update so that I can live vicariously through you.

 

You're only a week behind me...that's nothing.

I've been having a hard time with the name for my MINI. I'm thinking about just calling it FPPE. Sure you can't pronounce but I've seen other initials.

Kudos to the first person to figure out FPPE...it's really easy.

 

The mini owners lounge now has me being delivered on 2/20/05.. yesterday.

But I called the dealer (and as I expected and knew) it should be there by the end of the week. They checked up on it this morning even before I called. Weekend motoring with the top down, time to do the sun dance!

This has been a long month from when it went into production! At this point the excitement has worn off and I really don't care... YEAH RIGHT!!

I really really hope it doesn't get delayed at the VDC much longer, it docked Friday. I want it at the dealer by Thursday so I can take off Friday afternoon or go first thing Saturday morning. That gives them time to prep it. No addons to delay delivery.

Fingers crossed.

UPDATE: Bummer the Port of Newark is closed today! Damn Holiday's.. everyone BACK TO WORK!!
