Zippy is in!

I picked up Zippy on Friday. Now I know why no one posts after they get their car. Simply not enough time to motor and extoll the virtues of the MINI!

Of course I have already installed the white sunroof cover (actually pretty easy), my new shift and e-brake boots, my Whalen, plus I've put on two coats of Klasse and installed my headlight protection.

Now I just have to get the clear bra and stripes on and then I'll have nothing to do but motor the days away!

My little red baby

Hi.
I got my MINI two weeks ago and I am really buisy to drive around.
Just to brag a little:
Chilly red MCS convertible
Black top
Black panther leather
Alloy patina trim
Chrome mirrors and lines
Sport, cold weather and convenience packages
Nav
John Cooper Works tuningkit, front brakes and door sills
I just love it.
I have a HK sound sys also but I hardly turned it on. I am just listening to the har zipping along. The best tune so far.
Denes

Here is Zippy

Just a couple of photos. It is pretty dreary here today and they are forecasting hail tonight. Good thing I have space in the garage!

I still don't have mine yet, but like so many others before me....

I got a pic of it!

and another view...

Here's the right front corner...

So, how's it look?

Hopefully, I'll pick him up later this week. (Wish I had a nickel for everytime I've said that!)

I have some shots of the interior, but the glare on the glass is horrible...I'll spare y'all those for now. In this case a few words really are better than a pic! It's Cordoba Beige/Alloy Patina with the Chrome Line Interior and the Euro Parcel Shelf. Maybe it's a strange combination since I've never seen it before, but I think it looks pretty good. It'll be a week or so before I can get the Union Jack put onto the roof. I'll install the white mirror caps and Auto-Up Window Circuit as soon as I get home with it!

I just thought I was anxious to pick it up before I got hold of these pics!

Hopefully Motoring soon!

Okay, it's official now... I WILL BE the absolute LAST Feb. build to take delivery of my MINI. The transport company informed me today that the rail car carrying Daisy from NY to CA was mis-directed by some shmoe at Union Pacific filling in for the regular guy. The new arrival date at the local terminal is 4/25. Un-frikkin-believable! I'm so pissed I could spit nails!

It's almost there but I know how it is. I wonder why they used the train from NY instead of boat to CA.

I bought the car through a NY dealership to save time (hahaha now) and mucho bucks (think $2500). That's why it didn't go by boat.

Note: this is completely the fault of the transport company (Union Pacific Railroad) and in no way a reflection on the dealership. As a matter of fact, they're pretty pissed too and getting on the shipping company's case big-time. I might get a good portion, if not all, of my shipping charge refunded.

Those of you who just took delivery of your cars; when did you order them? Asking because I'm waiting to hear when mine will arrive. En route, is all I know.

Nikki: Looks like I'm getting mine on Friday. Until I saw your post, I was convinced I'd be last. It was a long time, but when I ordered my B4C Camaro, it took 19-20 weeks.

JS: I ordered on 1/22/05

Ordered: 1/24/05
Built: 2/16/05
At Dealer: 3/5/05
Shipped from dealer: 3/17/05
Delivered: ???

Would have been a 6 week turnaround if I could've picked her up at the dealership. Unfortunately, a 3000 mile drive home wasn't feasible at the time.

Okay, time to close out this thread.
I FINALLY received my MINI yesterday, albeit quite filthy. Here are a couple quick snaps at actual pick up and her first bath at home - really folks, she was so filthy (guess that's what 3+ weeks on a train will do for ya!) that I'm going to have her detailed this weekend and then take some good pics!

Nikki -- Wow, what a nice looking Mini S! My wife and I have a white over yellow on order. It looked good online, but we haven't actually seen a real picture of one yet. Glad to see how nice it looks in living color!

I see you scrubbing it down. Forgive me, but I thought the dealers detailed them before customers ever saw them..?
