05 CR/B MCS

 

OK.... the saga continues.. As of yesterday my 2/9/05 produced MCS was due to be on the Tancred, but as of this morning it is wait listed on the Madame Butterfly due to leave SH on 2/24 due Charleston on 3/9.... Alright anyone have any clue?

 

Oh yeah. You'd be surprised how many of them don't get it. Those that do are rare. There was even a commercial encouraging the marrying of Monty Python appreciating women on BBC America at one time.

 

My MA told me today that they get my car on the 23rd, and I should pick up on the 26th. One last weekend sans-mini for me!

 

Why would they make you wait 3 days after they got it for you to pick it up? Are you getting any options installed at the dealer that would take that long?

 

The Carmen, bound for Pt. Hueneme, covered 478 miles since yesterday, and was at noon GMT today at about 36.24 deg N, 32.5 deg W. This is about 1400 miles W of Casablanca, Morocco. Hopefully none of our little tikes jumped ship when she passed through the Azores.

 

My baby is in the paint shop right now getting her sweet, sweet purple haze/black combo put on. 3 more days till completion

mrv, where are you at? i'm in ohio and they are stil telling me they will get the car on the 24th, but i can pick it up same day. did you hear if your car made it to the VDC yet or not? ask-mini is still telling me in transit and nothing about vdc yet.

 

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. I am only having one option installed (Aux. input).

I am going to just tell the MA that he should "Feel free" to call me and let me know if it is ready beforehand.

 

did anyone on the Resolve hear if their car has made it to the VDC yet?

 

My car was on the resolve and the web still says enroute and ASKMINI still says in transit.

Forget both of them...... they are always a couple of days behind. Time to call your MA and ask for an expected delivery date.

 

I Just checked ASK MINI and my car is now scheduled for completion on Feb 26th! I'm picking up my car at Classic MINI in Cleveland and driving back to Montreal. Can someone help me with a timeline from my production completion date. I've looked through posts and it's hard to gauge approx milestones:

ship date, arrival date, VPC date, release for transport, etc.

to give you a baseline, my car was completed on 2/5, loaded on vessel on 2/9, arrived (per scheduled) today at NYC (around 10 day ocean travel). I was told that it takes 3-4 days in the VDC, or sometimes it might be as long as 1-2 weeks. Then it arrives at your dealership. Normally dealers spend 1-2 days prepping it before releasing it to you.

You can use www.2global.com to track your car's status once it is completed. Use your VIN and do "auto tracking" to track the loading status. Then use www.sailwx.com to track the ship's whereabout once it leaves Southhampton. I am not sure how to track it once it arrives in the US. The Owner Lounge and ASKMINI are always not up to date.

Yep, getting it at MCM. Bought it from David Green. I am hopeful that they can shave a day off from what everyone else is saying. I'll start looking at ships leaving early next week when it starts really being built.

Hey, have you looked at buying accessories from MCM? Are they expensive. I see that Classic Mini has some good prices. Got them for rubber and carpet mats. Even with shipping you save.

I LIVE IN N.C. AND ORDERERD THE CAR FROM MINI OF STERLING IN VIRGINA.
ORIGINAL PLACED AN ORDER WITH A LOCAL DEALER, BUT I STILL WOULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED A PRODUCION # FROM AT LEAST TWO MORE MONTHS IF I STAYED WITH THEM.

MY FIRST DRIVE WILL BE 30O MILES, THINKING OF TAKING THE SKY LINE/BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY ROUTE.

GOING TO HAWAII FOR A WEEK STARTING GOOD FRIDAY AND HAVE A FUNNEY FEELING THAT IS EXACTLY WHEN THE MINI WILL ARRIVE.

Obviously there is variability in the production to delivery times based on when ships leave southampton, trains to the vdc, release from vdc, etc. but I thought I would list all of my dates as they may be of some benefit to all of you wondering about timing:

Production start date-1/27
Production completed-2/2
At port in Southampton-2/3
Left Port on RESOLVE-2/5
Arrival in Charleston, SC-2/17 (8am)
Placed on train to the VDC-2/17 (11am)
Arrival at the VDC-2/17 (time?)
Date of delivery to dealer-2/26

...just under 4 weeks from start of production to dealer delivery. I hope all of yours are just as quick. I was hoping for a quicker release from the VDC , however, and have some concern that it may be getting hung up for bodywork. Any thoughts?

 

This will be my very first brand new car, scheduled for departure on the Jingo Maru on the 22nd of Feb. I think the only other time I was this excited was when I got married. Here are my specs:
