Yea guys . I was talking about the caliper retaining bolts unfortunately.. 2x of them got really loose and tge other 6x were able to be torqued down about another turn on the bolts. Maybe just the heat cycles caused that ? I've never had that happen to me befor ,out of the 100s of brakes I've changed..it did then make me go and 3x check all the bolts underneath.
I had no issues getting out that screw that holds the rotor on though thankfully..

I had that happen to a slammed S10 I used to own. One bolt came completely out and the other was finger loose. What clued me in to something being wrong was a banging sound every time I hit the brakes. The sound was the caliper swinging up and hitting the rim!! That was back in the day when I tightened pretty much everything as tight as it would go with an impact gun lol. I was second guessing myself trying to remember if I'd actually tightened them or not. I got in the habit of marking bolts with a red or yellow paint pen as I torque them down. That way if something works loose later I know it was torqued correctly and not just forgotten. I still do it if I'm working on someone else vehicle, I don't do it much on my own stuff anymore though. Blue Loctite on the offending bolts may be a good idea if they've already come loose once. The fact that your brake hardware is coming loose is rather disconcerting.

Checked better today aaaaand with the tierods flipped I have just as little clearance then near my rim.. so I just installed them normally and then painted them and repainted my calipers..
still waiting for dry roads to test drive it so hopefully in 2x or 3x days they will be good enough...
I'm really digging all my red stuff now, it's really coming together now.

made them 2x times better !!!
but good eye on them being backwards. You were correct , it had less clearance by the wheel flipped around than it did by the end links the correct way..soooo correct way they go.

ALL: Do yourselves a favor and pick up a rechargeable LED headlamp. It makes working on your Mini immeasurably easier.

Got all my alignment stuff done and painted my tires letting and took the car for a good hard shake down and it is absolutely UNREAL how much it's changed its great now.. 0 issues what so ever either.
I left I car parked out I the sun then for like an hour after I touched up the tire lettering to come out and find my car vandalized, p.o.s cowards...I know who it is and it's a 70 year old guy . Long story short don't know about it getting replaced yet by the Apts or not where I live because not enough physical proof but more than enough and we all know he did it so they're moving to atleast evict him now.
but bummer as it was just going to go in for bodywork too..
Ugh...
o yea, I wired up my horn finally too lol then they literally started to fail a few days later, so time for hella horns.

Sorry to hear, man. Was it a BB? Why would a 70 year old do that?

OH NOOOOOOO!!!!! I hate people like that!!! There is absolutely no excuse or valid reason to do something like that! And as far as "a 70 year old" doing it? Yeah horrible people come in all shapes and sizes...and ages. If he had an actual reason to do something like that (I'm guessing he didn't) he could have called the police to deal with the problem. I've had neighbors like that before, they just hate the car culture because they assume everyone that's into cars are the ones out on the highways acting a fool. In reality a lot of true car people treasure their rides and are very careful with them and don't abuse them on the street. Ok that's probably enough of a rant lol. That's terrible though man 😞. I hope they kick him out so you don't have to deal with that nonsense anymore. On the bright side your car looks incredible and I love the red lettering!!!

He's got dementia and long story short he's had my car confused with my buddies who lives rite next to him..our cars are almost identical and both loud BUT we're always respectful ALWAYS he's just a mean old grumpy man who's miserable and hates seeing people happy...
unfortunately legal action can't be taken because lack of physical proof but it's blatantly obvious he did it , even after I spoke with the man's son . His son pretty much said his dad did it just with out saying it in those words and even the cop agreed but is what it is. I just hope the management finally evitcs this old FK as he's nothing but a nuisance to the small community we have here..
but I took the car out n followed my buddy cuz he just brought home his Ryker and wanted to ride alittle so we went for a nice long country road cruise and it was an absolute fricken blast ! Troll handles SO well !!! This car honestly feels like I'm in a 50k$ sports car no bs , it's so planted , so responsive and it in the chilly air is just sooooo much stronger..making me really REALLY debate getting a meth kit now for summer so it feels this same way in summer heat..
but just waiting for my bodyguy to call me any minute now so I can go drop it off to start the body work.

Wtf, vandalism sucks bigtime. My girlfriend also had to deal with that once, as someone "confiscated" a public parking space (which was in front of said POS house). She parked there with some regularity, he made comments to her everytime he saw her and then all of a sudden tires got slashed. F that...

Good to hear you are staying positive brother

Oh man that sucks. Dementia is rough. If he legitimately has it he needs to be in some sort of assisted living situation, not running around vandalizing peoples cars.

I just purchased 4to2to1 headers , screaming demon coil pack , brisk step colder plugs , new oem ntk 02 sensor...
I hate the sound of the 4to1 header , my current coilpack is idk brand but works fine as do my plugs buuuut ive also thought it ran fine too befor the new bpv and that really woke and popped it up so I'm going to throw a bunch of new sensors n such at it. I will get new map n tmap sensors soon too..

Why not stock coil pack? There's been many reports over the years of the aftermarket ones going bad.

Curious why you didn't have them remove any trim for paint, bumpers at the very least. I'd be concerned with dirty edges along those panels. Would've cost maybe a couple hrs in labor, and been much cleaner. Best of luck, hopefully it turns out nice.

I actually did , I was hesitant on it as my trim liked to break upon removal but I just said screw it and yanked them all off and actually the new nardo color is so close to the old color unless your like 1ft away , you can't tell . Like under my hood and stuff , can't tell...its also needing some more work as when we did the clear we put on like 7 coats and the Temps ended up plummeting that night and of course the garage heater burnt out that night and the clear ran in some spots so it's needs a re sand and re clear... but here's how it looked flawed. O yea , and my luck too my dang alternator finally went out too so ille be heading to dudes tomorrow to throw in my new battery and alternator. Battery was original from 2004 , lol
I mainly got bodywork done to take care of a rust bubble that started under a taillight and to get all the little dings n stuff out of it . I also put a huge dent I my roof when I fell out of my rafters onto the top of the mini LOLOLOL, and I removed it best I could but there was still some very minor flaws you could see on certain angles so that needed addressing too . I just decided to go nardo because I love that color and it's so close to the silver color that leaving the engine bay you could barely even tell the color difference.
