Willenius Wilhelmsem site won't let me track...

I can't get the site to track either by port or by my vin number. Am I doing something wrong? It just seems like the site isn't working, is there anything else I can do? I called ASK MINI and they said that the car has arrived at the port of exit.

Thanks all,

mb

Welcome to NAM.

I'm going to move this thread over to MINI Talk, so you hopefully get a quick response.

It took about a week from the time my car arrived at the Port of Southampton to when I was able to get information back from the WW site with my VIN.

Cheers,

OK Yeah, I'm obsessive, I admit that... but it IS interesting to read about the various statuses ("statii"?? "stata"??). I have been "being transported to the port of exit" for 3 days (no change = agonizing - they do this deliberately you know!). TY - MBCoops - now I know what to expect next I just wish they'd hurry up and scan her IN at Southampton. It's less than 100km from the factory!

(unless of course they have to interrupt the normal flow with with something unforeseen: "Greetings fellow motorer! Your vehicle is being winched from a drainage ditch at the site of a terrible lorry crash.."

But seriously, I have consulted the astrologers, and me MINI has a safe journey in her future. Thanks again,

Tatt

Is the site telling you that "no information is available" or does the site seem to be "broke"? I ask because I am only able to access the site when using IE. I get nothing but garbage when using Firefox. (my preferred browser)

Also, where are you located? If you're not on the east coast there's a chance you won't be on a WW ship, but rather on K-Line.

The site seems broken in that when I hit the track button, nothing happens. When I go to a different page and hit the track button, it works, but alas, I dont have the correct type of number for that search.

I use firefox and will try it on IE. Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

I sorta feel like a jerk worrying about this when I placed the order two weeks ago, and some people have to wait for months and months. Why such a discrepancy in wait times?

Trackless

I can't track mine either. It has to be on the Manon now headed for CA, but the WW site knows nothing. Ask MINI says it's on the way and my MA says it will arrive in CA on 1/2/05 - which is when the Manon is due.

I wish I knew for sure.

That is the problem. It doesn't work with Mozilla or Firefox, just IE.

IE, Oh!

Yes, I have tried Safari and IE on the mac. Neither will work. I've also tried IE on the Win2K box at work and no luck there either.

Still trackless.

I finally found it...apparently it got on the Tristan on the 17th and left on the 18th. According to WW, the car is on that boat, and according to the ocean weather site (link is on mini2), the boat is in the middle of the Atlantic, headed for NYC by xmas day.

Now the problem is that nobody, I mean nobody, at Mini knows where the car is! I called the dealer and knew more than they did. I called the 1-866-ask mini number, and I knew more than they did, too.

Anyhoozle, WW says the car is on the Tristan, so that is what I believe right now.

If your MINI is going to CA then you may not even be on a WW ship. More tracking info can be found here...

California shipping is now going through another company.

Here is the booking number:

gbsou285439

Tristan

Voyage: ex407-tst

Call sign: SKWI

If you put that booking number in, you'll find all of the cargo. Then you can look through it for your VIN. Or, just type your VIN in, and it should work as long as you're using IE.

Thanks.

I can't begin to say how P*SSED I am to see cars with later VIN's than mine that made it to the port later than mine on the Tristan.

Don't feel too bad. My MINI sat at the dock while (2) two different ships (both heading to the US east coast - same as mine) were loaded and sailed while my MINI sat there. I also noted cars that were scanned at the terminal well after mine making it aboard ahead of me. I'm sure there's a reason, I just don't know what it is.

Oh, well. All's well that ends well. My MINI is in New Jersey and should be at my dealer by Thursday or Friday, and my MA expects I'll be able to pick it up the beginning of next week!

I feel for you. My MC got bumped for 3 weeks for no good reason. It just sat at the VPC, until I pestered them enough for someone to go find out why it was just sitting there, and they came back and said they didn't know why either. It got on the train the next day to the dealer.

I'm sure there's a reason, I just don't know what it is.
Inefficient process for scheduling by WW is my guess.

Sigh,
