New to the forum, but have browsed a bit in the past. A dealer I was getting work done with frequents here and recommended.

Anyhow, I bought a used 2002 Mini, actually a Canadian model that was part of the first run of 500 in North America, I believe.

Between the headlights and fogs are the set of lights that include the directionals. There is another bulb in there that is just white light pointing square at you, whereas the directional itself is askew and orange.

What is this white bulb referred to as? And where do I go to get a replacement?

It is typically called a "running light". It turns on at the first click of the light switch, and stays on with the headlights.

It is a small wedge bulb commonly known in North America as 194. It is also known as T10. It is a common bulb available in car parts stores and even in some hardware stores.

I believe they are called side lights or parking lights. On the R56, they use w5w bulbs, not sure if they are the same on the gen 1. you can get those from auto parts store or even Walmart.

 

It's an excellent questions - and one that I've been trying to figure out myself (I couldn't find a proper listing in the manual)

Anyone have a lead on one that matches the Xenon colour?

If you want to change it out to Ziza LEDs we have them here, no bulb out code or anything. They match the stock xenon headlight colors.

I am using PIAA xtreme white and they are quite blueish white, but they cost like $10 a pair in amazon
