R50/53 Will these Rims fit on my 2004 MCS? (pic attached)
Will these Rims fit on my 2004 MCS? (pic attached)
Greetings. I'm really at a loss when it comes to rims, I don't really understand anything except inches. I was wondering, which one of these size rims would fit on my cooper s (if any) and what tire size would I need? Thanks!
Since its obvious that you will need adapters, with an offset that low you may have trouble getting them to fit. With say, a 25 mm adapter, that would change the final offset to about et10 which is reaaaaaaallllly low for a 8.5-9.5 lol. If they were four lug or redrilled, the 8.5 and 9.5 wouldve definitely fit...
18x9.5 is pretty big for a MINI

Thanks. I've been on a website and it claims that the standard specs for R53's are
PCD- 4x100
Center Bore - 56.1
Offset - 45
Mounting - bolt 12x1.50
Not sure if these figures are good or bad for the wheels I want to put on :(

As previously mentioned, you MIGHT be able to make them fit with BOTH SPACERS AND ADAPTERS, or spacers, and having them redrilled.....and they STILL MIGHT RUB/NOT FIT.
My suggestion....go to a rim shop where they can test fit them to check for rub before $$ them and the tires....
with so many suspensions and mods such as lower springs, it is tough to guess, but unless you are willing to spend big $$ to make those rims work, find ones that match the mini spec....
Using spacers and adaptors can make some rims work, and get you a look, but there are other expenses, such as replacing the hubs when the bearings go bad from the stress if the wrong offsets......
See what Tire Rack has to offer, you can buy your tires already mounted on the rims of your choice shipped to your door.

The simple answer is no. It will not fit your car. Without having any wheel knowledge at all, spacers and adapters should have never been mentioned to begin with as it just adds a level of complexity that might just cost you more money and harm. First step is to simply look for wheels with a 4x100 bolt pattern. This is the number of holes to bolt onto your hub. Next step is size. You may not want to go any larger than 17x8. Next is offset, no lower than 30et (mm). Most wheels has a hub bore larger than 56.1 so this is not really an issue since hub rings are extremely cheap. Keep researching but don't get too aggressive and ambitious on what you want to put on your car.
So its basically a criteria I need to meet.Thanks. I'm really starting to decode all these terms now. I understand what you mean. Before this thread, I had no idea what was going on. Like "Why wouldn't that 17'' fit on my cooper, when I already have 17s" factory fitted?!" - the importance of forum's!
