Bought a mini... Need feedback on wheels. See Pic.

I'll try and keep this simple, and short. Sold my G35 Coupe, and purchased
a 2004 Mini Cooper S 6 speed Manual Indy Blue. I removed the bonnet
stripes and added a visor tint strip as well.

I found out 3 of the 4 wheels are slightly bent. The car slightly pulls to the right. I had an alignment done, and they balanced the wheels. It helped very minimally. So, I am in the market for new wheels, but I am trying to stay within a small budget.

Here is my car with TSW 18's... 215/35/18.

These wheels have a tire width of 225/40/18
How wide is that in comparison with 215/40.. that seems to be a
common setup on the minis.

Here is a link of a wheel I was interested in:

Thank You

Sounds like you live in an area with fairly rough roads? Or the last owner was perhaps just quite careless? In any case, I would seriously consider your OEM options. The Mini wheels are heavy, but I have two sets of S-Lites, one of which has at least 90k of really rough kilometres on them, and they're still straight and round. As far as I know the OEM wheels are generally of a much higher quality than most/all budget aftermarket options - i.e., you need to spend a lot to get equivalent durability.

Ha, yea, the last owner said he did his "best" to avoid pot holes, but that clearly is not the case, or cheapo wheels. I like the look of aftermarket wheels, and I myself would be a much driver. My location does not have
many potholes, so I wouldn't see that as a problem. But, thanks for the information.

The first number in the tire size is tread width in mm. So the 225 is 1 cm wider than the 215. The second number is a percentage of the first and the height of your sidewall. So for 205/50/15 (what I have) you get a 20.5 cm tread width, 50% of that gives you sidewall height so 10.25 cm, and the final number is the inner diameter, or rim size 15 inches.

I would advise you to think about lightweight vs. large diameter wheels before you buy. In the meantime I'm sure you could pick up a cheap set of stock wheels from a local club member. At least that would get you on the road going straight for the time being.

Also, you have a good looking Mini. Good luck with whatever you decide. There is a "Show us your wheels" thread on here with about 80 pages of posts (or something ridiculously high) to roll through if you are bored and looking for inspiration.
