Navigation & Audio OEM navigation upgrade-Hopefully a how-to guide.
Navigation & AudioAudio upgrades, bluetooth, and navigation discussions surrounding the Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs.
I would get a new speedo with the screen because I can't tell you for sure if it will fit your old speedo. I saw some on car-part.com for $125 with the screen. Just an FYI do not clean the screen with Windex it will take off the anti glare coating from the screen. I learned the hard way.
Hi so I have instaled new speedo with screen same as you said and cable for screen from dealer for 44$ and all is on ... Now just waiting for emulator and grey speedo disc with km/h and I hope all will work great. Thanks again fr your help...
First you will need a ICOM or OPS with MOST connection do not try it with OBD it will fail and it takes a week before it fails. I used NCS expert to edit the VO added the following options adjust to your need. I installed a Champ2 navigation system and combox for Bluetooth phone, A2DP and USB/AUX input.
Add to VO
$6FP – Mini Visual Boost
$6NE – Bluetooth and USB Audio
$6NF – Smartphone Integration
$6NM – Mini Connected
$6UH – Traffic Information
$6VC – Control Combox
$6UM – Mini Navigation System
Remove from VO
6ND – Bluetooth Hands Free Interface
6FC – Radio Mini Boost Cd
After the VO is correct I used winkfp to edit the VIN number on all the parts that I changed. Again use only MOST connection to do this. There is a program on the net called Easy Connect that will setup your Ediabas to work with the ICOM. I am not sure if you have this or not. PM me if you need it. After everything was coded I used ISTA/P to sync everything. ISTA will complain that you need to replace everything that you just put in ignore it and continue. Here is a good link with pictures how to do this.

It is impossible to codify with NCS Expert ?
I don´t have ICOM and see that it is an expensive cable.
My CIC is in French and I need it in Spanish . ICOM also need ?
Sorry for my bad English and thanks for your help!!
I think there is a way to change the VIN with Tool32 but I couldn't find a tutorial on how to do it. You can change the language under settings on the CIC. You should have Spanish if not you will need to code it and you will need a ICOM with MOST connection no other way.

Hi, so I have instaled emulator today and hope I will do the coding this friday ... Could you please tell me after emulator instaled should work some more thing's ? Or now I need to coding it to get all that things like navi bluetooth to work?
Thanks Vik
You will need to code the car and add all the options to the VO. After that you should have Navigation, Voice control (if your car had this before), Mini Connected and you should be able to save the radio stations under preset. If you are in the USA SiriusXM should be available also.
On the back of the radio you will see to fiber optic connectors one will be glowing red and the other will be blank. This is the most connector.
Hi, just would like to asko you one more thing I have ista p eom bmw do you think its gonna work we do all programing on bmw with this ? I just newer try it before on mini so I will work on it monday hope I can do what I need

Yes you can use ISTA-P but it will not change your VIN# in the new parts if you want to change the VIN number use WinKFP or Tool32. ISTA will tell you that you have to replace everything that you just installed try to skip the messages eventually it will work.
MOST connects to the back of the radio and the Bluetooth antenna connect to the combox.
Yes, but, where do you conect the ICOM? the optic fiber go directly CIC to Combox
The Bluetooth antena I know that conect in the combox, but, where it is placed?
I ask forgiveness for my language
Sorry for the horrible drawing but I just did this quick. So you will need to make a fiber connection between the radio and the combox. Also you will need a loopback adapter for it so when you disconnect the ICOM you connect the loopback in place. My bluetooth antenna is installed under the hand break right above the airbag controller.

Thanks a lot!
I only need;
Bluetooth Antena and wire
Optical Fiber Cable (from globebox to Combox)
Plastic box under the front seat.
The Bluetooth cable is discontinued by MINI so I had to find it online at this place https://www.pasternack.com/. Look at Ebay for the plastic box I saw some for cheap. Ebay also have the optical cables.
