Navigation & Audio Bluetooth compatibility list
The now-famous Mini armrest phone sleeve. AKA "the only phone charger that costs more than the phone" Not to be outdone by the equally famous 2007 Mini iPod integration setup 'AKA "the only connection/charging wire that costs over twice the price of the iPod." Those were the days.
The Mini basically displays what's transmitted by the phone. I haven't confirmed this with the Storm, but most Blackberrys (Blackberries?) will swap first and last name to match how the address book is sorted. In OS version 4.5 it's under Address Book -> Options -> General Options -> Sort By.
The only thing that happened was that the BT pairing got deleted and I re-paired...and now in the MINI phonebook they are displayed as "Last Name, First Name". Weird!
Is there a chance the dealer updated the software for the BT with the recent window reprogramming? IS there any way to see what version the car has on it?
Tried that, tried deleting and re-pairing, changed the order on the phone and swapped it back, deleted the pairing and re-paired, it's the weirdest thing. SO no other blackberry owners have ever experienced this?

I just played with my blackberry and changed the sort order from fist to las t name then went out to my car and the the sort order on the Mini was now last then first. Turned off the bluetooth and changed phone back to first- last and then turned the bluetooth back on and the Mini is now again first name last name for sort order. I did not delete the paring or reset the pairing in any way just turned off the bluetooth onthe phone changed the phone and turned bluetooth back on.
My BB is a 8330 and the software in my MINI was updated last January. NOt sure if there has been another update since but the update they did did nothign for me. Everything works just as it did before the update.
It does sound strange though that you can not get it to change.

Just as an FYI for anyone interested in the Palm Pre, someone has posted that it pairs and syncs!

I have a BB Storm and just tried a friend's Storm, and his behaved the same way as mine (phonebook display on the MINI was "last name first", even though the phone is displayed as "first name first").
Since it worked prior to the vist to the dealership and displayed "first name first", I can only conclude that the new programming that was entered with the window fix they did had some undisclosed BT programming in it and it's now messed it up for me.
When I asked the dealer about it, he said that sometimes MINI will slip in an undocumented change to a system...undocumented as MINI wasn't trying to "fix" andything...but in essence in my case they broke something!
Anyone else out there with a Storm (and who hasn't made a recent trip to the dealership) that can confirm that I'm not losing my mind, and that their phonebook is displayed as "first name first"?
How to Sync My phone
I have read a lotr of posts but still can not figure out out to get my radio to see my phone. What buttons do I push? I am completley in the dark here.
I have 2003 chili red mini cooper with the Harmon stero system that is sat. radio ready. I can't even get that to work. Any help would be great.

I don't think there's been any sleeve updates since the iPhone 3G in December- has anyone else heard anything different?
Mini Approved Bluetooth List
Guess what I have found? The official Mini list of approved telephones.
http://www.miniusa.com/bluetooth/phones2.html
Enjoy... It is not a long list, but they do break it out by carrier. I have a Treo 755P that worked for a few days, before it sent my telephone a tilting into the world of reboot. The only way to straighten it out is to hard reset, restore the data, re download the email software, which for some unknown reason disappears, and re-setup all of your email accounts.
Now why a Treo 800 will work and a Treo 755P will not work is a mystery to me. I am going to check with Sprint to see what the difference is with the bluetooth on both phones.

The largest difference between the 755p and the 800w is that the 755p runs the Palm OS, and the 800w runs Windows Mobile 6.1. The Bluetooth stack from the most recent versions of Windows Mobile works well with the MINI systems, where nearly all of the Palm OS Treos have had issues, and the 755p being the worst of any so far, actually requiring people to have their cars repaired :(
Knock on wood, my Treo 700p (Verizon) is still working well after 10 months. Haven't had any problems. (Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself)...
BUT, I am just about crazy trying to come up with an alternative. I love the fact that the phone (calendar) syncs with my computer. I know I'm one of the weirdos out there, but I don't use / need email or internet with the phone. I do some texting and like the QWERTY keyboard. I can't seem to find a slimmed-down alternative with the features / plan cost I want. I most often carry the phone in pants pocket and work outside so I need something relatively durable. I'm thinking of 'downgrading' to a slim cell that pairs well with the MINI and taking the hit on the fact I won't have QWERTY or a calendar that syncs.

The person that originally posted that the Pre worked completely (linked a couple posts above) came back to say that the address book doesn't appear to be transferred. I'm not sure if their phone is through Sprint, but you might be able to check with them there.
Yeah- unfortunately, it hasn't been updated for over a year now. The wireless4mini site changed the page when they did their update.
Just got a 09 MCS with Bluetooth and I cannot download my contacts. The phone will receive calls and all but my phone keeps trying to download the contact but the bluetooth in the Mini will not accept it.
My phone is a LG VX9900 "Envy" on the Verizon network

Thanks mdrums- do you know which firmware version your phone is running? Past reports have shown this phone to work, so it may be that a recent firmware update causes problems (this happened with the enV2, actually).
