04yellowS,
What engine map are you running? Are you using MTH's software? How much does it cost to have the DSC mod done, is it the same price as the engine map itself? Can I specify MTH to remove my RPM hang as well but not change the engine map? Thanks!

When I try to open Cartunes I see this. I have xp on my computer. Any ideas?

update: Problem solved. I had to clean the temp file on my computer to fix the problem.

Also you can tell Franz that you might be running on 93 octane rather then the reccomended 91 and see slightly better gas mileage.
I think its worth it.

My ham-fisted attempts at tuning my motorcycle have resulted in similarly lumpy a/f curves (and torque curves, for that matter...). Vader's a/f curve indicates that the engine's running very rich.

i didnt pay for dsc only to turn it off
i have a small piece of comfort knowing that its turned on and knowing what DSC does - the ONLY thing i dont like is the sensitivity.. so if this software can help im thinking of getting that.
cheers.

DSC is great to have, but I find myself turning it off whenever I start from a stand still. I wish it were programmed to kick in after a preset speed. DSC activating when pulling into traffic is the pits--no power, and on coming traffic barreling down on you.
As soon as I'm moving quickly, like on the freeway, DSC comes back on. Its especially annoying when your tires start to wear down and are less sticky--thus triggering DSC even more.
The MTH ECU mod has no effect on DSC other than offering an improvement to its functionality for MC owners.
Since the MINI isn't smart enough to know when to turn it on and off, it's really not bad advice as there are times when you definitely don't want DSC to trigger.

I can also feel it when I'm trying to go fast and accelerate through an intersection (usually faster than I should be), and that's fine. I'm just looking to keep it from "helping" me when I chirp the tires trying to get up to speed with traffic out of a drive way. I'd almost go so far as to call DSC "unsafe" in its current configuration...
Your standard upgrade mainly removes stumble and many other niggles with standard software.
The TUNER FILES really do give better power and increased toque especially low down in the rev range on Cooper and Cooper S models (not forgetting WORKS too
)
And if you use there own exhaust manifolds due out soon on there shop you can get an approx extra 10bhp on top of the tuner bhp figure

I can't remember if you are running a reduc pulley or not. If not, if you use the tuner version and add a pulley will MTH send another file if you request it like the standard MTH?
Thanks.
Soon To MTH?
I recently decided to go with Franz's MTH PowerChip. Perhaps I'm missing something, but the way I understood it from the threads here, you order the OBD interface & cable, purchase the CarTune software & register with MTH (end of expenses). You then send Franz your existing ECU map, he does his magic & you upload that... and he'll do future maps at no further cost. While I am still waiting for my OBD interface & cable, I did get an email from Volker Kurch @ MTH breaking down what is available, map-wise. Standard file @ 150 Euro & Tuner file @ 300 Euro! Is that right, or something new? I thought I was done with my credit card for the time being. Either way, I'm already in for $188.18 US, so I'll stick with the MTH route. I was just hoping someone might clarify this for me. Also, I have not inquired to Volker on this.

If you write to Volker (his English is better than Franz's) he can give you the specifics. I don't want to get into too much explanation because I don't want to sound like I'm trying to sell their products here. But since they've become a M2 sponsor, maybe they'll revisit the possibility of becoming sponsors here too.
