I bought the MTH setup for my stock '05 MCS in March 2005, liking the idea of free future remaps for a future 15% pulley install. I had no problem downloading the stock firmware and flashing the new firmware Franz sent.

Now, I'm ready to buy Randy Webb's 15% Alta pulley and install it myself.

I'm thinking I should've asked Franz to include a remap with the 15% pulley on my initial order, since it would've been free then. I've heard parts of news regarding some improved remaps and a business model that can't support the promised free updates.

Can anyone with a solid history of MTH's offerings point me to my current options?
Am I stuck with sunk costs for MTH and the ISO9141 serial cable, or will Franz honor the original agreement?

(Please pardon me for not plowing through all 26 pages of info -- if this info is somewhere obvious that I've missed, just PM me and whack this message.)

Updates are still available, but they cost something...

MTH never said that updates were free for ever... People assumed this because Franz never asked money for it... But now, MTH got bigger, and they need money, as any other business...

Think about it as a favor they did for you... It was nice, but you can't force them to continue to do so...

Also have a word with Tradiuz who is your MTH agent for the US...he will be able to clear up any discrepencies for you too.
