MTH Holiday deal

Anyone know what the deal is?

I went to their website, but there's no mention of specifics or links:
Holiday Special!

We have reduced prices and now offer a MTH Tuner / MONO-USB Cable Combo! Get them for your friends! Get them for yourself! Have your friends get them for you!
Tradiuz posted:
Holiday Specials at MTH-USA
Its that time of year!

To celebrate, we're offering a special package pricing on a MTH Tuner File and Cable. They make great stocking stuffers, or gifts for yourself!

So I PM'd him and said I didn't get it, and got:

the link your provided takes you to a generic page, also not mentioning the deal.

For someone like myself who's interested in an MTH solution, that is a poor way to advertise a 'special'.

Given the fact that I've only had 6 hours sleep in the past 3 days due to work, I'm rather pleased that it came out coherently.
I got that 3 days ago, and nothing since.

I'm interested in MTH as a solution, and so I'd like more info on the deal if anyone can decipher it.

That's Wagnbat's point. He obviously read what you've posted at the MTH site, but it does not state if the $425 price is the special or not. I don't blame him for attempting to clarify the deal. $425 is a lot to spend.

Ouch. Yeah, no clue $425 was the special. That is quite a bit of loot. I remember a DCMM member telling me the MTH software was a "$75 upgrade". Guess he exaggerrated a bit.

And by $75, I mean he said $75 + the cost of the cable. Not just to upgrade the tuner file.

Thanks.

Having both, I can tell you it's cheaper then buying it individually. It was $367 for the tuner file and over $100 for the cable. And that was several months ago.

Depends..the standard file was 60 euros before and that's about $70 something. I had that one and Volker gave a credit towards the tuner file. I have that one too.

The one I saw in the ad is for the tuner file and a cable.

It's a good upgrade.

Nevermind.

Someone sent me a PM and reminded me there's alternate methods to go MTH.

I'd have taken the special... just got mine a coupla weeks ago at $360 + $120. No worries... money well-spent, and I don't drive myself crazy over missing sales.

However you go about it, Wagn... you'll be glad you spent the money, if my experience is any indication.

And one doesn't even need the cable if one can borrow the cable from a friend. Sometimes, there are MTH parties as well.

I am not sure what the other alternatives are other than giac, unichip, dinan, or shark.
