Yalla Yalla 2005 is in the History Books!

For those of you who have been eagerly awaiting this event, it is time for YY 2005 - Yalla Yalla!! In case you are not aware:
  • Yalla Yalla is an annual event celebrating the establishment of MINI5280 as one of the very first MINI enthusiast clubs in this country
  • Yalla Yalla is a Ride, Scavenger Hunt, Musical Interlude and Quiz all rolled into one. We recommend that you bring a 'Navigator' for this busy and fun ride.
  • Yalla Yalla this year is being held on Sunday, September 25th at 11:00 am starting at Ralph Schomp MINI in Littleton
  • The Broncos are off that day (they play Monday night) so you will have nothing else to do..
  • The ride will go approximately 4 hours and will conclude in a location conducive to eating and drinking (you do that while we give away prizes and recognition)
  • At Yalla Yalla, everybody wins something. Nobody leaves empty handed. There is mucho bling. Last year we had 47 cars including MINIs, Minis, and other British makes and models.
  • Our sponsors and hosts for Yalla Yalla are many and are distinguished. They are:
  • Mark Ferguson and North American Motoring. Mark was instrumental in getting MINI5280 on the map and in establishing our club. NAM serves as host for our website and our forums and our activity calendar. NAM is the biggest and most influential MINI promoter in this country and literally drives the MINI community
  • Randy Webb and Webb Motorsports. Randy also was influential in the establishment of MINI5280 some years ago and now is the most significant and best known of all the MINI tuners in the U.S.
  • Ralph Schomp MINI - John Angel and his crew (Mike, Handsome Rob, Vinnie, Rene, Ian, Aaron and Vinnie) have provided most of us with our beloved MINIs and keep all of them running and running well. Ralph Schomp MINI hosts many MINI events and serves as our location for our monthly meetings eom. We cannot thank them enough for the service and support they provide to the MINI community.
  • Yalla Yalla this year will introduce to you " MINI PodCasts " . Don't know what a PodCast is? I didn't either until recently. Come on out and find out.
  • and more
Please take the time to block your calendar for YY2005. Watch this space for more posts and information. You can indicate your attendance HERE in this forum (just post and let us know you will attend) or you can go to the MINI5280 Calendar right here in NAM (click on calendar in the left margin, scroll down, JUMP to the MINI5280 calendar, go to Sept 25th and click).

Questions? Please post them here...and we hope to see you on September 25th!!

Yalla Yalla will be bigger than ever this year

with the addition of a number of sponsors and supporters of MINI5280 and the MINI community. Note that the following organizations have both pledged support of Yalla Yalla and or provided gifts and giveaways for you and other YY attendees this year. Our newest sponsors are:
  • Detailers's Paradise - www.detailersparadise.com Located at 1745 S Broadway, about a mile S of I-25 and north of Evans, on the west side of the road. Nick and Heather Martinez have been supporters of ours for some time now and they continue that tradition. We have had detailing events at their store and we have another scheduled for late October. Nick has graciously offered up some prizes and give-aways for our Yalla Yalla attendees. You can reach Nick or Heather at 303-722-5107 directly.
  • Paragon Motor Cars Denver - Those of you who attended the recent Poker Run know Paragon, and some of the rest of you do to! Find them at www.paragonmotorcarsdenver.com and you will find that Owner / Proprietor Matthew Kryjak has the finest collection of exotic cars anywhere in Denver. Matthew has graciously pledged his support of YY and will also have give-aways for our YY attendees. Matthew and his staff (including Anthony Fig, formerly of Schomp) are located at 11211 E Arapahoe Rd at Lima, in Centennial. This is just across from the Honda dealership and across from where Bennett's BBQ used to be. Call 303-706-1234 to arrange to talk with Matthew, or just stop by normal business hours.
  • MINI-Stuff - www.MINI-stuff.com is a local and Denver based supplier of MINI, well, stuff! Mick Noyes and Chuck Pyne run MINI-stuff and you have seen them and their things around town. Mick and Chuck will join us for YY and also provide some give-aways for you and YY attendees.
  • CarPartsCoupons - The fine folks at www.CarPartsCoupons.com have become supports of MINI and 5280 and will be at YY to meet you and talk shop. Further, this year they will offer a nice set of Titanium or Carbon Fiber finish Retro 3D (tm) taillights specifically for MINI as a giveaway! John Warner at CarPartsCoupons knows car parts and now knows MINIs. Come on out and meet John at YY on the 25th.
Lest we forget, YY continues with the support of our original and primary sponsors as always. These folks make Motoring easy and fun and stay in volved with us and the community:
  • Mark Ferguson and NorthAmericanMotoring - Based here in the Denver area, NAM has provided everything we ever needed to run our club, including the ONLY club calendar in the US on NAM, our website hosting, these Forums, and more. We look forward to seeing Mark again.
  • Ralph Schomp MINI - John Angel and his staff continue to provide support at every turn and of course, keep our MINIs on the road. We thank John and (I will forget someone here) his crew consisting of Ian, Mike, Rene, Aaron, Vinnie, Handsome Rob and of course, Ray Velasquez who keeps the MINI owners in touch.
  • Randy Webb and WEBB Motorsports - if there ever was an enthusiast Randy is it. Randy provides HP and knowledge to any MINI owner who wants it, from coast to coast. Randy also holds regular tech sessions at his shop down in Highlands Ranch ( 3911 Norwood Drive, 720-841-1002) and can be found online at www.WebbMotorsports.com.
Please plan to come out for YY Yalla Yalla this year. As always, this event is the biggest and baddest of the year, with a ride (longer than most), a quiz, a musical interlude and of course, a scavenger hunt. Yes, all rolled into one.

We RECOMMEND a navigator. You are not just Motoring here...you are doing much more. Please post HERE and let us know if you will be joining, or go to the MINI5280 Calendar right here in NAM to post your attendance.

Costs? Well, we love to answer that question. Here you go:
  • If you have paid your dues in 2005 (ie written us a $27 check some time this year) there is NO FEE for Yalla Yalla. Just show up and register at the door.
  • If you have NOT paid your dues this year, please just bring them along and there is NO FEE when you pay your $27 MINI5280 dues at the door.
  • If you have not paid your fees, or if you are not a member of MINI5280 we welcome you as always, even if you drive a MINIvan. All of our guests pay a small fee of $5 at the door to join Yalla Yalla.
Questions? Contact us at President@MINI5280.org or call 303-807-9483 for further information. We hope to see you at Yalla Yalla this year.

Yalla Yalla begins at 11:00 am on Sunday morning, September 25th at Ralph Schomp MINI in Englewood, CO. We will conclude this year's ride about 5 pm in Golden, CO. Call for details.

In addition, we will have a great supply of NAM caps also at a low low price of $5!! Come on out and outfit the family...

Bling includes feather dusters, buckets, waffle weave towels (for that scratch and swirl free drying), car wash, bug juice, and more. Come on out and get yours, and meet us for the October detailing session at DP.

Paragon Motor Cars Denver - Come on out and meet Matthew Kryjak from Paragon and pick up some of his great gifts. Matthew will provide a number of motoring specialties for you to take home. With any luck, he will also have one of his beautiful showroom cars for us to see and enjoy.

Thanks to all of our Yalla Yalla participants

and those who supported and promoted yesterday's event. We had a great time, and we hope you did too. A special note:

We will post the answers to the musical quiz and then to the scavenger hunt, too. We are glad you had fun - we did too - and we hope to have you for some other upcoming events including R4tC - Run for the Corners.

Thanks for coming out and supporting our club and our event. We also thank our sponsors and other supporters: and the fine folks at the Buffalo Rose Saloon in Golden, CO.

See our pics that are now posted at www.DragonTales.smugmug.com for your enjoyment.

Thank you all again!

Yalla Yalla thank yous

I know this is a little late but with our move from St.Louis, new jobs etc. it has been hard to get to this board.

This was by far the most fun and well organized driving event I have attended. Libi is now hooked on driving events and we are looking forward to the next, unfortunately we can not do the r4c.

My hats off to everyone who helped in organizing the event but especially Jonathan for his hard work in organizing and the warm hospitality that everyone offered us. We look forward to seeing everyone very soon.
