I thought I'd give you guys a status update on my buddy Dave. He went to see his doctor today & his shoulder's going to have 100% recovery, his headaches are starting to lessen & his vision's improving. Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers & positive vibes.
Hey Jim................ just read the thread on M/U about seat belts. Don't give up on the whole track-day , auto-X thing just use your stock belts.
Yea it's like Some pepole say, yes, some say no. I think the concense is, ok for auto-x, bad for track. For auto-x it holds you to the seat well, with lower speeds not a risk to flip the car. At the track, risk to flip car, they are not so good. What you think?

Think you've got it just about right. One qualification that doesn't seem to come up is frontal impact. That sudden stop ( not roll-over ) can really compress the spin when the rear belt anchors are more than a 10 - 15 degree angle below the shoulders. Take a look at that test video put out by Schroth on the subject of stock Mini seats not collapsing. Pick a reference point on the seat and one for the dummy. See where the reference points are before , during and after a frontal collision. The dummy moves downwards in a big way. That is compression of the spine.
Dude, I still can't believe you made the call. Mad props, but still can't believe it. What I don't understand is the grandstanding & pontificating about something that has been stated blatantly a zillion times has nothing to do with "you know what". Yeah, it is addicting like double Jolt-cola but it's aggravating as all get-out.
Ok what about the CG lock for the R56? For road runs worth the money or a waste of money?
Absolutely worth the money. You'll still use your knees to brace yourself occasionally but for most situations it does its job well. The CG lock will work with any stock three point belt system and can be easily taken from one car to another. Check E-Bay or NAM for a deal.

Love mine, You can tighten and loosen on demand. Found the best deal at APEX Performance on line. I have the Schroth belts for the really fun times, but for day to day the CG is tops. got an off ramp you want to play on, pull the CG tite and go for it For those Knee braces get the pad from minspeed
