Tuning

Hey everyone,

I talked to Jan today at RMW about tuning. Sounds like it could be very exciting news . We need to either start a new thread or just work out of here to see who would like to do this. I know a couple of us are interested now. This is a dyno tune, using Dimsport software. If we get enough cars lined up he is willing to come here to do it . Anyway what you all think?

I'd definitely be interested. We don't have a Dynopak (except the distributor) that I know of, but we have a Dynojet near the shop. We still have to check it out, but it is a lot less expensive than the other shop we looked at.

I'm "down like a clown" man. Just let me know when & where and I'll be there. Since the head/cam/intake manifold is a super-distant event, I'm looking forward to seeing what this tune will do for me. My Shark has been awesome, but it sounds like there's way more gains to be had.

We may be the top M7 dealer in the world behind M7 itself, but we do sell parts from a good many companies. And since M7 doesn't tune, we are not competing with any of his products anyway. It would be nice to see how a Cosworth/M7 car stacks up against the RMW products, also.

Yea it would be nice to see a Dyno sheet. I guess that means more than simple physics to most of the people on here.

I wish mang! My FFR (acronym get it? ) is kicking in hard core & I'm going the suspension route then seats/harnesses, finally power. Save the best for last. If you'd like to give me the 30-year, 50-year, never amorization program &/or defer all payments until I win the lotto, I'll totally have you do the power install.

Congrats your 2.8 seconds faster than me. I think if I get my R/T perfect and launch smooth I think I can get into the mid 14's

Well, most of my runs i had MAJOR wheel hop in first and i could only get mid 14s. I was able to get that golden run though and got an amazing time. My nitrous solenoid is on the fritz right now too and I need to replace it.

cool im glad your interested Steve. It would be cool to see what numbers your car could do with a good tune, hoping 220+. But like Jan told me today, its really not about the total you get but the delta before and after tuning. He said some dynos may not be calibrated right, but you still will see a delta. He said he prefers either a Dynapak or a Dyno Dynamics, any of those in town? How about Brad? Is he in for a tune? And what about guy's in other towns around? We need a few more if we want him to come up here. He did say that he does have access to a dyno down south on Saturdays, so that is always an option . Talk to ya later.

Sweet! Jim, are you gonna start another thread keeping track of us RMW tuners? So far, we have: Jim, Joe & Dr.Steve. What about Chris, Brad, Steve Phillips & Willum? I'd say Steve/Minichef too, but I don't know if he's willing to overwrite his JCW program. Holla back Minichef!
We have some lightly modded cars in our group, but it sounds like we're the core "modding" group of MidCal.

Well, it will take 6 cars for Jan to fly out to MI and tune here. I doubt you would need more than 3 or 4 for him to run up to Fresno....

I am the 1 of 2 in Kansas who have Modified Mini's other than this guy in Wichita that had an article in MC2. Not too many people in Kansas are truly mod'ing the performance of there cars. I want to live in an area of Modified Mini's boohoo boohoo.
