I pulled the trigger and ordered one today. Not taking any chances that they'll become scarce if MINI gets weird about people selling the parts without a VIN.

I felt the same way, once I saw this, I thought too good to be true. Time will tell. Maybe the intention is to build a thorough JCW catalog of upgrades...let's hope so.

Lets hope so but I know BMW's logistics system is a huge lumbering beast and it may just take time for them to catch up with it.
Lets hope not. I can't order mine until next week so hopefully all goes well.
Once I have these I don't think there's a tying else off the GP I'd want.

Where did you order from? I'm getting very tempted.

Also is there a simple guide to installation anywhere. There's a lot of info in this thread, but I'm not sure its simple enough for me.

How about the red seat belts? I think that's the only other thing I want.

For those that have installed it can it be done with one side of the car jacked up with a small jack? It's either that or I have it installed when I get my JCW suspension put on. I'd rather do it myself but if it's going to be a pain in the *** I'll just have them do it.

i ordered from Outmotoring. I want those seat belts too but I don't think they'll fit the Coupe since the mechanism is different in the diagrams. The R56 seat belts have a fold over on the B-pillar where they change direction toward the driver. That place is near the shoulder rest on the Coupe an the retractable mechanism looks very different. I'm bummed about that one because I need that slight extra hint of red in the cabin on mine. The standard Recaros have no red trim at all on them.

Is the part number on RealOEM? I tried looking.

Also, do screws go through these two holes?

In general, you should never work under a car which is supported by just a jack. That's a good way of getting dead. At the very least you should be thinking jack stands, which are cheap.

I just looked to see how to remove the existing piece from the rear bumper. It doesn't look easy. Do you also need to take off that bolt from that hanger?

The hanger holding the factory "diffuser"? From the looks of the diffuser tunnels, those hangers hold the GP2 diffuser.

Yeah, what's there right now. Not the GP2 stuff. See below. Do I need to unbolt that?

I was thinking the same thing, great move on Aaron's part to get on these. On that topic, Aaron, will there be more pieces becoming available? I would like to do the whole underbody in GP aero. Thanks

That would look good actually.
I think after the diffusers a pair of these will be next though:

That's a lot of $$$$ though so it will be a while...

I'm not sure how many times I need to say it - but, this will be it:

This is an extremely easy install. I normally screw every install up. I don't have a good tool set. I'm laying on my back in a dark parking garage. I don't have jack stands, and I'm not going to use the jack again, put my head under the car, and realize I've got the jack upside down - would have made a great obituary though. So, really, don't sweat this one. Yeah, they left off six screws - take one that is included with the clip to the MINI dealership or hardware store and match it up as close as you can.

If you have jack stands, or a lift available, and alright tools - great, it will be even easier. And, don't hound MINI with the screw thing - just thank whoever let these things go to the general public. You normally can't buy any of the special edition parts without a VIN. In the end, be happy, because it's easy to install, it's relatively cheap, and looks great.

Last I talked to Aaron was on the 1st and I was told that 5 were on order. I placed my order that day and I'm hoping I grabbed one in that group.

Oh, please don't tell me I've got to wait for him to try to get more of them. I assumed if he was out it wouldn't take an order.
