It's already available as the JCW Challenge Cup cars use them:

Would that fit a standard JCW? I've been thinking I might want to add a rear diffuser, the JCW doesn't look quite right without it. The floor of the JCW is nice and smooth till you get to where the diffuser should be, it just looks like it'd create a lot of drag. If it did create any downforce that'd be a bonus.

One day when my wallet and desires agree... I will have the aero kit with this diffuser. Been a fan of this look and have had aero kit envy for sometime.

+1 - You and me both. Just can't justify the cost at this point. Some day.

The challenge diffuser and the gp2 diffuser doesn't look the same to me. The gp2 one looks like a much more finished product for the street, while the challenge one looks like a raw, unfinished, bolt on piece for track and competition.

Besides the two side "fins" the gp2 diffuser also seems to have a really nice finisher in the middle to block off any gap around the tips. *edit* it looks like the original challenge diffuser has this finisher as well, except some teams choose to just leave it off.

I'd also be interested in the gp2 diffuser if it becomes available.

The new MINI GP 2 difuser is totally different from the MINI Challenge difuser. I took a good look at it when I saw the car. The GP one looks like it will be easier to put on with less cutting than the Challenge ones.

At the 1:36 mark in this video you can see them really well

they are different, if you see the pics, the challenge diffuser is all business, the gp2 is more refined , as more street friendly

Do not think we'll be able to get these

The Challenge rear diffuser used to be listed on http://www.minigenuineparts.co.uk/mi...nge_Parts.html

I sent them an email a few months ago about installation instructions, and the next thing I knew, all of the challenge car parts were taken off the page except for the vented bonnet scoop. I have a feeling that BMW/MINI put the end to sale of those parts. Likewise, I do not foresee the availability of the rear diffuser or rear wing from the new GP. I'd love to buy both and put them on my car, but I'm afraid I'll have to buy the whole car if I want those. I wish MINI would let us buy these parts for our cars, but they won't. You'll need a valid chassis no. from a Challenge car to get any of those parts, or a valid VIN from a GP to buy any of those.

Hey MINICK - do you have the name / website of where you got the rear diffuser? Also, was it an easy install? Does it just bolt on or did you have to modify something under the car? Thanks

Hiiii,

I have a question:

Have you used the number 9 during the installation?

This looks fantastic! I'd be interested to hear details on where one might purchase these parts from. Thanks for posting.
