Just to keep the thread current, I got my VinylStyles badges installed today.

I got the one on the boot installed too, but no pictures today.

Sharp, Chuck... might have to give some consideration to doing this on Dr Evil. Might stand out a little TOO much on Jet Black but sure looks nice on Chili Red.

Yeah - those are sweet. Not the look I'm going for (I can't believe I said that) but look great on your car!

Thanks chums, I'm liking them. The red is an exact match of the Chili Red which was very important. I'm not sure if the blue would be a MINI blue or not.
Yeah, is kind of odd (in a Outer Limits or Twilight Zone kind of way) that Blimey has been denied a UJ of any kind. What's the problem Paul, you punishing your little Blimey for something?

Blimey,

Do you have a UJ in your rear view window? Cooper Flags shows they make one, and I wondered if you had gone that route? And if so, can you show me a pic. Somewhere in this thread is a pic of an Aesthetic Creations UJ in a hardtop rear window. I emailed Mike at AC and he said it was a one-off and he probably wouldn't do another one. Since you're sort of the Godfather of UJ stuff on here, I was wondering whether you thought a UJ meant for a Cabrio rear window would look good in the rear window of a hardtop. To my mind, a hardtop rear window just seems to be a space crying out to say something, but I's be curious what other people thought of the idea.

One of our member's (old81) '07 MCS has the UJ rear window. It is hot looking. I bet he has some better photos but this is the only one I have:

Yeah - I've seen pics of the "full" rear window that MiniMaybee mentions - it's sweet - but that may be the one Mike (AE) did? I'm pretty confident the CooperFlags cabrio-sized window UJ would NOT look good in a coupe - I wouldn't waste my money trying, personally. You really need the full wrap version like in the pic above.

Yup, old81 had his done by Mike during last year's MITM. It looks really nice and it is perforated so visibility is not bad. Did I mention it looks really nice?

Chuck - is old81's on the outside? (I assume so)

If so... it really doesn't seem like it would be that much of a bear to install... though I guess/bet it's a LOT harder to install the perfed vinyl on a curved surface than it is to install solid vinyl... probably much harder to stretch it to fit the compound curve... while not making the straight lines look wavy... and getting it straight and level... OK, so maybe it IS a real bear to install.

It is on the outside. All vinyl is beyond my abilities. It was my wife that always put the stickers on the new Barbie toys. Every time I try a sticker it ends up wrinkled, creased, bubbled, skewed, upside-down or stretched (or generally all of the above). Best leave that stuff to a professional like Mike.
Mike laughed at me at AMVIV when I asked him to put my UJ gas cap sticker on, but heck you gotta know your limitations.
So anyway, it is on the outside and Mike installed it for him.

Blimey, Thanks for your comments on the Cabrio rear window graphic. It was because I had some lingering doubts that I thought I'd ask you in the first place. But now the question is, where do I get one made if I do want to try it on for size?

Mike said he probably wouldn't do another one because it wasn't easy to do, even for him. But like I said, the Coupe rear window just screams to say something to the world. Maybe I should ask him if he'll make up one for me to install myself.

New UJ add c/o Blimey - Thx!

and even though it was a decal, and I'm horribly decal challenged, I did manage to put them on. First one I installed upside-down, but fixed that and all is good.

New UJ center caps on Gromit!

Not the best picture(camera phone), and yes the wheels are dirty, but it had been raining. They are orange/chrome/black instead of red/white/blue.

I've got another idea that I'm working on before I call Mike at AC again. If it works, I can see Blimey wanting a set of them.

Heh, I so did this with my first set of boot stripes. I didn't understand that the ends were cut at different angles and I couldn't figure out why they looked so weird

Thanks, guys! I've been wanting these for a while and I'm really happy with them.

ML, blackjack center caps would look cool on your MINI. What kind of wheels did you get? Mike (AC) can make different sizes of center caps, so you might be in luck.

These:

But I haven't gotten to actually SEE them yet, so I don't know if the centercap is replaceable or not. I should know tomorrow though!

Nice!

The caps from Aesthetic Creations are adhesive backed and just fit over the stock center piece. The only thing that may matter is the diameter of the center cap. Your wheels look similar to these so there is hope.

Actually you use whatever standard centercap comes on the wheels... as long as the emblem or whatever is flat, you just stick the AE domed cap right on top of it (the AE caps are entire centercaps - just domed decals).

But you need to measure the diameter of the cap face and make sure it's the same as the OEM MINI caps... otherwise you'll need to have Mike make a special diameter set for you to match the size of your specific caps... You don't want to try to cut down oversized domed decals, screws them up.
