I meant the location of the stripes, not color (although I love the colors !)

Is that how the kit came?

I figured that is what you were referrring to. They came that way, and I thought about correcting the diagonals, which wouldn't have been too hard. I figured that I was modifying the original with the color changes, so I would just leave them and have a different look.

Out of my 20-some-odd UJ's on Blimey, only a few are "correct" - but nobody seems to notice... if they do, they have too much time on their hands...

Yep... if you get picky, the UJ on my speedo is 'upside down'

If you look carefully, you will notice a little UJ on the top of my Whalen shift ****! I'd love to take credit for it, but I saw it in a feature of GoMINI a couple of years ago and called Whalen the next day! :D I did, however, make it my own with some hand polishing of my **** (one of my favorite things to do :D ) to give a bit of sparkle and a bit better feel to the **** (it started out life as a bead-blasted, flat finish).

Looks nice agranger.
I noticed that the UJ Cockpit Specialties gauge faces were upside down, but the OutMotoring weren't. Not that big a deal for us American types, but I'm sure it drives the Brits crazy.

I didn't want it to look like an advertisement.

cool

I was just worried that the retailer was passing these off as correct and folks didn't know any better.

Don't know if they were selling them as correct. I knew they would look like they did when I ordered them.

Of course here in the states, lots of people may not notice the difference-and think we're selling athletic shoes.

Got the mirror caps on Gromit today. The orange is not very close to Hot Orange(I knew it wouldn't be), but looks better in person than it does in pictures-the camera flash didn't help any. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the result.

sorry, didn't scan the whole thread. anyone know where I could get a Union Jack rear license plate cover. (wanting to dump the dealer supplied one with a nice Union Jack). Something decorative, that is part of the metal frame which holds the rear plate on?

TIA.

Your dealer probably has'em (that's where I got mine), but Outmotoring also sells them - as do many of the MINI specialty shops.

I really like those wheels. Plus only four holes, most aftermarket wheels try to fit everything and end up with 50 holes.
hmmm ... wonder how much a set of those would set a guy back anyway?

Probably not cheap, those Hartge wheels were made for the MINI, I think they are MINI specific wheels, someone correct me if I'm wrong, Hartge stuff usually isn't cheap, I had a friend who tried to get a set of those Hartge wheels, but ended up not getting them.

I saw those in ebay it is GBP 599 for set (I was try to find replica GP wheel) plus shipping to US. I think, I should not post ebay link here but it easy to search for.

They are indeed Hartge and that is a really good price for those wheels. I saw them a while ago in a MINI mag for around $2500 I think. That was wheels only, no tires.

Just did a Google search. It's an 18x7.5" wheel and the cheapest I found was about $2300. So they aren't cheap.
