Yeah - indeed it is...

Here's the writeup about it on my blog...
It's a Safecraft 2.5lb Halon, with a Safecraft billet mount and a Brey-Krause seat mount for the MINI. I originally had it on the passenger side (where it's really designed to go) but my wife hated it - she sits with her feet pulled back there a lot - so I put it on the driver's side and haven't had any problems. You can still pull your left foot back against the seat if desired, and your right foot never really moves back there (it could if you were on cruise, I guess, but I rarely use cruise control in the MINI...)
2.5lb isn't enough to put out a huge fire - but I'm thinking it's enough for something like a smoking power steering pump/fan, etc. which is the kinda thing I'm worried about. And it looks blingalicious.
Oh yeah, don't price out these things if you're the least bit squeemish... cause the setup I have is obscenely expensive IMHO...

My latest Union Jack addition (I built a compartment in the back that the floor mat is sitting on- the mat is about 2 inches too "tall" to fit in the well, but could work):
available on ebay (price seems to have gone up- I paid $25 shipped)

Just a custom Whalen **** - whenever Doug gets ready do to the auto ***** again... Otherwise I think I'm done for general stuff - though I might do some special event vinyl for MOTD, etc. next year...
I didn't
Tint shop did. It is seperately cut and layered pieces. I am under the assumption it was VERY difficult as they specifically said that I had the last one they would do.

(1) Do you actually DRIVE that thing? It looks too clean and shiny...
(2) I'd love to see a close-up of your signs, trophies, etc.
CooperFlags has these for the cabrio... but I like mini d's tinted one better - it rocks!

Thanks Rally - that's what I was going for. The **** will really crown it I think - no colors on the ****, just the UJ and "Blimey" in the same font as the sill plates... though I'm torn between polished (to match the chrome and ebrake handle) and brushed (to tie it more to the downtubes and Nuvi, and not smudge as much...)...
That e-brake handle IS sharp !! Was that custom made, or did you find a vendor who makes that ?
And when you get your Whalen ****, I would strongly suggest going with the polished finish. That would tie in better with the e-brake handle and your shift boot trim ring. I've had the polished one on my CR Cooper for about six months now and it's not at all hard to keep clean. It's not like chrome, doesn't attract fingerprints or smudges.
Your interior is already sweet. It's going to be SUPER sweet with that Whalen ****.

Here's my start
More subtle additions in the months to come. These are done by Mike at AC.

The side lights are for the R56 only, not sure what his plans are for the Cabrio and 02-06 MINIs.
The rear window is perf. vinyl, oversize and custom cut to full window.

I appreciate the input on the Whalen finish - that's what I'm thinking too - your description of the polished finish will probably push me over the edge that direction.
Ebrake handle is here. A bit pricey with the exchange rate and shipping - but very nice - solid metal, nicely polished, the UJ inset is a domed vinyl similar to the AC centercaps - the handle fits well and installs with a single hex setscrew - only had it on about a week but so far, so good. Hardest part is getting the old handle off, and having to remove/reinstall the Redline boot - but worthwhile, at least in my scheme and my passion to get rid of or cover all the charcoal grey stuff...
Pretty soon you'll have transformed my name into "PepperJackCheese".
Thanks for the link. That e-brake handle is quite impressive. At 35 British Pounds, that is pretty high. Besides, if I copy any more UJ bling off your car, you'll have me arrested for Impersonating A Blimey.
I'll have to consider that one though. It's too sharp not to.And yeah, I've removed two e-brake handles to install custom boots and I'll be doing the third in a few weeks. They are NOT to be favorably compared to a barrell full of monkeys.

I didn't remove my handle to fit my boot originally - the old one and new one slipped right over the handle... but yeah, it can be a bear - especially the first time, figuring out how to "finesse" the tabs properly...
Yeah, I guess you could slip them on and off OVER the handle, if you can cut that plastic tie thing. Hmmmmmmm... might give that method a try. Should only be a one-cuss word job that way.

Yep, that's a 4-cuss word job, the first time you do it. Second time, it's a 3-cuss word job. I'm guessing when I do the third one, it'll require just 2 naughty words. But they might be REALLY bad ones.

1) unclip bottom ring of boot
2) pull boot up, inside out, over handle
3) use diagonal cutters to clip the zip tie.
4) pull the boot the rest of the way off
5) affix new boot to old boot's plastic base
6) turn new boot inside out
7) slip top/narrow end of new boot (inside out) over handle, just past bottom end of handle
8) fit new zip tie, tighten and clip off excess
9) flip boot rightside out, and clip into place
Still a lot of steps - but easier than fighting the @&$! handle...
