You've already got the best looking ones out there - pre-05 oem.

As I was leaving LA one afternoon I was mesmerized by a silver MCS with highly articulated tail lights. The tail lights looked more hyper functional than gaudy. I wanted them for my car. I learned from NAM that they are the "Eurostyle Projection Lamp" from MiniMania. Expensive ($395) and they do not work on the 2005 cars. Drat. I have not posted a link because they do not look appealing in the MiniMania on-line catalog. But they look amazing in real life.

I haven't installed them yet to decide if I'll actually use them or resell them.

the pre 04 lights work on 05 cars, but you need to put the back up light in the bumper, which i already have done to mine!

I believe those are my dream tail lights! They are hard to photograph well, but looked amazing on that silver MCS in LA. Good luck installing them. I hope you post a picture.

Thanks for the clarification. Perhaps MiniMania was being overly cautious in their caveat about the 2005. I think I precluded any way of installing those great tail lights by insisting on the rear fog light--not very useful, but I wanted to have all the toggles. Live and learn.

you could use those on the pic in the 05

All you need to do is put the reverse on the blinker spot and the blinker on the top,;

Thanks. This is beyond my comprehension, but I will quote you when I contact MiniMania again. Perhaps I can get them to install them for me so there will be no mistake. I'm excited.

I'm just looking to set the car off a little. I spent a lot of time and $ getting the performance together. It is running very strong now so I want to differentiate it a little/subtlely

I bought these second hand last fall and have been very happy with them.

Works with the Dark Silver / Black much better than the huge red stock lights.

Honestly, I really dig the '05 lights. Only thing they could have done much better would have been amber for the turns. Although, to match the rest of my lights, I'm very tempted to open it up and tint the inside of the lens to 'smoke' them.

Here are my tail lights. The only negative thing I can say is they have a small crack in the seem of the left light. This allows small amounts of fog to develop inside the lens under certain cicumstances, very rarely though. Thanks to the photographer.

forgive the link, I can't seem to make the vb code work.

They are the Altezza Ultras that morknmini and rafthos posted. I think they originally came from Moss MINI. I have not had the same problems as rafthos. Mine are crack and leak free. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them, especially when I have a stock MINI setting next to me. Just too much red back there stock for me, looks like a very happy baboon! Additionally I was suprised at how bright they are!

Its tough to tell without a comparison, but both the brakes and the turns are brighter than stock. Love the red glow on the faces of the people behind me. Bonus!

I had a set of the Altezza Ultra black-background lights from Moss Mini. They looked fabulous on the red/black MCS - just what the car needed to tie all the red and black together visually .

The lenses were getting lots of fine diagonal cracks and the plastic was getting milky looking. So, I took them out and returned them to Moss, wanting to simply replace them with the same type lights. Uuuuuunfortunately, I was told that Moss has discontinued these lights. Something about DOT regs. I think you can still get the same lights in the clear version.

Until something changes, I am back to oem lights - but now I'm kind of liking them again. They are definitely better made than the Altezzas.

Clear OEM Lights

I have the clear OEM lights. Love the way they contrast with BRG. They also have a pearl essence look when the sun shines on them.

Love the white/clear OEM lights!!! Can't wait till they make them for 2005's. Nice pics everyone, it's great to see some variety in these taillights, I know now that I'm not the only one dying to see more.

Man! Those are my dreamlights too. I've been wanting a set of those since I saw them like a year and a half ago.

If you decide to part with them please let me know. Maybe we can work out a trade or something.
